New Release Excerpt! (R) Vigilant, a Paranormal/Sci-Fi Romantic Adventure (angels & demons)

Good weekend, adventure lovers!

I’m Michele Hart, and I have a steamy new release! Check out my sexy Paranormal/Sci-Fi Romance, Vigilant. Vigilant is a sequel of Luminous Nights, which finaled in the Golden Quill this year. I’m very excited about both books. Read the excerpts! Watch the book trailers! Catch the reviews!

Investigate Vigilant. Where do the mortals fit in the war between the angels and demons?

Vigilant
One surviving hijacker is charged with the murders of a hundred citizens.
One cop sees her innocence.

Alliance I-Marshal Weber hauls Yadira to her home planet and infiltrates the human-trafficking ring controlling her. But he finds himself unbearably attracted to his witness. A gift for detecting deception reveals she’s the next victim of a criminal industry.
Descending into shadowy worlds of slavery, Yadira endures a dark angel stalking her dreams and watches the quiet I-Marshal become dangerous in her defense. Everything about him moves her…except the memory of seeing him execute the most important man in her life. Shouldn’t she take vengeance? Delusions of a heavenly guardian affect her mind.
Slavers and demons plan to snatch her from Weber’s custody while he is uncovering connections, and Weber won’t hesitate to execute the guilty surrounding Yadira. Who but a son of fire can save her from fiends harboring hardcore fantasies of harming her?

Copyrighted Work.
[This excerpt is R-rated.]
Shower

The steam engulfed her, and water jets pounded her. The shower spray beat her body into bliss, reinvigorating her. Weber stood for the abuse, standing spread eagle and enjoying the rough massage. It felt very good, and he looked very good doing it. She wanted to put her hands all over him, but she’d never done such a thing before. She tried to make it feel normal and ordinary that she showered with a naked man. A big, handsome, strong, protective, brave man. It was a naughty thrill for her just to stand in the same room with him and look at him, clothed. The man moved her.
“Weber, what do you know of angels?”
“It’s angels again… I thought you didn’t believe in them. Have a few dreams changed your mind?”
She hadn’t told him of the second dream. They hadn’t had time between the daredevil escape from the Alliance’s clutches, the visit to the doctor’s lab, and the awesome view outside their hotel window. He revealed himself in incremental hints to see if she caught on.
“Maybe it wasn’t a dream,” she proposed, her eye on his default expression of stoicism. The water droplets raced down his hard body like shooting stars. “Maybe they were visitations. I thought I was asleep, but I wasn’t. Did I tell you the angel confessed to me he was a part of you?”
“No, you didn’t tell me that part. What color was your hair when he spoke to you?”
Her hand went to her hair beneath the pour of a showerhead massaging her scalp. She looked down to see her saturated black tresses covering her breasts and thin black drizzles of the hair color draining down her body with the water. “I didn’t notice. Why would that matter?”
He took the small distance separating them, and he put her into his arms, the sprays all around them. Naked and pressed against him shut her mind down to all but what he did to her.
“It seems to me if they were simple visitations, your hair would be black, as it is in this reality. If your hair were blond, as you truly are, how the Maker made you, then you may have been taken to a spiritual realm where corporeal bodies don’t exist and the barriers dividing souls is thinner. A place where only truth exists. Your black hair is a lie and couldn’t appear there.”
She smiled in surprise of his answer, had expected a denial. “You hold revelation of the spiritual world, Marshal. Does that mean you have the soul of an angel?”
Parting the pour of water from his face, his hair drenched and slicked-back, he smiled in reply, as if he’d bested her. “No, it means I can use the terminology to make you think I do know much on the subject.”
She frowned at him and wished she could tell when he lied.
After all the stress of the hard day had been beaten from them, Weber adjusted the pressure of the jets as she soaped up a bath scrubber in her hands. When she attempted to bathe herself, he snatched the scrubber away.
“You can’t have that,” he told her, like an order given her by his badge. “You can’t bathe yourself. You must wait for me.”
With the heavenly subject of conversation past them, her shyness rushed back to disable her. She pulled all her dark hair around her to hide behind. She saw the moment he picked up on it, and she shouldn’t have thought he wouldn’t notice. It was his job to read clues. And she was too inexperienced to fake having been in this position before.
He took her hand and guided her to the wall away from the main assault of the water, and he gently put her back to the tiles. Taking the soap into his hands, he stood very close to her, and he teased her into a kiss. His naked closeness stirred her, his alpha-male nearness subliminally dominated, and she was surprised how every step he took toward her sizzled her into a surrender that shot tension and thrill through her.
His sensuous mouth. She recalled noticing the bow of the angel Dokiel’s lips before he kissed her. They were very similar to Weber’s own.
When she was mesmerized by his lips, he put the soap in her hand, then took it to his chest. Then he trapped her small hand under his, and they slowly soaped his big arms and shoulders, his sinewy chest and river-rapids abs. She watched his hand, the only other part of Dokiel she’d seen, scribbled with tattoos of angelic script. Weber’s hands were very similar. The angel’s and the cop’s hands were big-palmed, long-fingered, hot to the touch. The contact drew the air from the room for her, and she felt a mixture of want, excitement, and uncontrolled arousal she’d never felt before. But she’d never touched a man like this.
He gave her his sinewy back while he shampooed his hair, and she sudsed him down, driving away the shyness. Her hands all over his body, his broad, hard back, his narrow waist, his round ass. He was an extra-fine specimen of man. Her thighs were on fire just from touching him.
There was no way her chastity would last the night. She wanted to pack it in a shiny wrapped box with a big bow and hand it to him. It would soon be his.
Her soapy hands reached his hips, and he guided her hand around to his manhood. She took a big, anxious breath for the experience. Together they sudsed his thick, stiff shaft, gently bathing him. He was so hard and bigger than she expected. She knew for sure he would hurt her. Touching him just made her hungrier.
He groaned. “If you keep doing that, we’ll never leave this shower.”

Jasmine Harper had a bad year. After a bitter separation and divorce, she now wanted to celebrate. She and her best friend Brenda went for drinks with a couple of Brenda’s bowling friends. Brenda left early. Jaz partied until she was almost drunk. She invited the two men to come to her place.

Greg Gregory and his uncle, Ted Rawlins, were surprised and definitely excited when their newly-met friend invited them to her home. Greg and Ted were fabulously beautiful men with dynamic personalities. The upcoming night promised to be one not to be forgotten.

This book by Laura Ashton was forceful. The sexual scenes were both explicit and frequent. The fact that Jaz was going to have to choose one man was the underlying question that kept surfacing throughout the manuscript. The powerful men were vibrant and forceful. However, they always seemed to toe-the-line when it came to Jaz’s demands. It was strange how she was able to call all the shots in their unusual relationship.

I was impressed with the depth of the characters, both the main and supporting ones. The storyline was well developed and I found myself immersed in this book. The fact that these men were wealthy made no difference to Jaz until they were able to open doors for her professionally which changed her life completely.

The sexual tension was vigorous and frequent. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. The sensuality was explicit but, while a big part of the book, did not come across as nothing but sex. The ménage was uninhibited. The ending was totally unexpected.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys M/F/M. The fact that there was such a strong storyline assured me that the book would be remembered. It’s a great read which will not disappoint any readers.

Sensuality rating: Explicit

Sensual Awakenings 1: Jasmine's Urban Cowboys
Jasmine Harper, once model now talented interior designer, is ready to celebrate being a free woman. With her divorce final, she invites a good friend Brenda out to help paint the town. Brenda has an idea, why doesn't Jasmine go bowling with her then when the game is over, the two can go out for some drinks. Jasmine agrees, never expecting to meet two handsome men at the bowling alley. Gabe Gregory and his Uncle Ted have a certain chemistry about him that makes Jaz feel tingly and warm all over. Gabe wants to introduce Jaz to his Uncle Ted who wants to show the lovely lady a good time. Brenda fakes an excuse to leave, suggesting Jaz not only take Ted up on any offer, but go for the gusto and have Gabe join them. After giving it considerable thought, why not, that is if the men are game. What man wasn't game to experiment with sexy Jaz? When Jaz heads home to prepare for Gabe and Ted's arrival, she still wonders can she go through with it. After all, what woman wouldn't desire four hands instead of two discovering her body? When the heat rises, will it be what Jaz expected or will it cause the party girl to crash never wishing to be around any man again?

Sensual Awakenings, Book One: Jasmine's Urban Cowboys is a dynamite read. Jaz's character is a blast. She has spark, is fun, down to earth, and the type to go after what she wants. The story sizzles with Jaz, Gabe and Ted. The
secondary characters are robust and add just the right amount of seasoning to keep the story moving at a good pace. I enjoy Brenda and the friendship she and Jaz share. There are some pleasant twists and turns along the way that the reader doesn't know what Jaz has up her sleeve next. With some surprises and anticipations, Laura Ashton awakens the senses and breathes life into the pages. She makes Jaz real by placing her in a situation where the players must make decisions, while following their heart. I definitely want to read the second and the third in this astounding series.

[Erotic Contemporary Multiple Partner Romance: Contains graphic sexual content and adult language.]

My Review:
You are sooo going to need a box of Kleenex and a good bottle of wine before this tale is done.

The story starts out a little different then I am used to, both points of view are used and I have to say it was really refreshing. We meet Loretta, or as she likes to be called Ella, in the bathroom of a casino in Tahoe, CA. She is working her shift and is bone tired. She meets a lovely young girl with her beautiful daughter and is captivated by her blue eyes. She begins to recall the only other person who had eyes like she did.

From there it is a whirlwind of her past life and times. We meet Loretta at a young age hurting and desperate to make something of herself. We see her progress and change and become a very sexual woman, self confident and unthawed by what people might think of her.

As the story unfolds we meet Bobby, a very shy insecure boy who needs help with his love making skills. He has been shunned by his wife and left behind by her and a casino pit manager. Loretta agrees to help him on the condition that they don’t fall for each other, the big reason being their age difference, she was 17 years his senior.

In the week they spend together, they become very close and Ella, just can’t get over the fact that Bobby looks like someone from her past. But as we all know we can’t always have a great book with no conflict or hurt and yeah now is when you need the Kleenex. Bobby says some things that hurt Ella and she leaves him. She can’t believe he would use what she had done in her past against her and she can’t believe she has feelings for him.

Months pass and we get to see everything from Bobby’s eyes and for the first time I was thoroughly upset with the whole story. The way he treats his wife is appalling and yes I can understand he was hurt but what he does to her is demeaning and just not right. But I was determined to see this story through, I thought surely there has to be a redeeming quality here, maybe it was the hurt talking and acting in this and I needed to give it a chance.

I was glad I did, as everything comes to a head we find out about his wife’s childhood and we see real remorse for what Bobby has done to make her problem worse.

In the end, more than ten years from where we started everyone’s lives have been woven together to form a truly romantic and heart felt feel good book. If I have anything negative to say it is watch your dates, Ms. Dawning refers to a particular date more then once, but when you see it repeated through the latter half of the book it has changed from June of 1976 to June of 1985. Easy mistake and truthfully it didn’t distract from the story.

All and I was left with a big ‘ol sappy feeling in the pit of my heart, I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something sweet but a little naughty.

Rated 5 Delightful Divas and a Recommended Read Amanda!

Hi, My name is Laura Ashton aka L.A. I'm a new author with Menage Amour. My initial offering Jasmine's Urban Cowboys should be out soon so keep an eye out. Here is the cover and a blurb for you to read.

Blurb, Jasmine’s Urban Cowboys

After a nightmare marriage and a bitter divorce, Jasmine is ready to celebrate big time. Jaz meets Ted and Gabe, two deliciously attractive, available men. Having spent a celibate year waiting for her divorce, waking up in the arms of a gorgeous hunk after a night of hot sex was at the top of Jaz’s list. With that thought burning into her psyche, Jaz returns determined to seduce not one, but both of the ready and willing studs. What follows is a sexy, sometimes humorous story where the things that happen that night entwine all their lives, changing them forever.

Jasmine's Urban Cowboys is the first book in my Sensual Awakenings series. book two, Sharing Brenda is complete and book three, Vickie's Secret is underway. Two more books are planned at this time.

I have three new short stories on Bookstrand

Hi readers, Three of my low cost short stories are now available at Bookstrand. They are sexy and humorous. Check them out. But beware. They are not for the faint of heart. Especially Bananaz

Blurb
Mitheas, the king's grandson falls in love with the lavender colored Falan princess, the vivacious Adalina. Unfortunately for them, they are inhabitants of the loveless planet Gala, a planet that has not only outlawed love, it has also banished marriage, even SEX!

The unlikely couple are lovers, lovers on a planet where the act of sexual intercourse has been against the law for four hundred cycles (six hundred earth years). Knowingly breaking the law they arrange surreptitious liaisons wherever they can, whenever the can, wiling away the days enjoying each others company and of course, making passionate love.

Then one day they are caught naked and making love. Refusing to give Adalina her clothes, the cruel soldiers herd her bound and naked to Mitheas' grandfather' s castle, where after spending the night in a restraining cocoon, she is herded, still naked into the throne room and in front of everyone, thrown to the floor at the foot of the King, Lor D'ana.

What do you do when you're in love? Not only in love but with a lavender skinned alieness AND you live on a planet where marriage, sex and LOVE itself has been banned for almost 600 Earth years! How long will Adalina and Mitheas be able to actually keep their love a secret?

I LOVED this story! It has a very unique preface and has a defiant Romeo and Juliet twist. Ms. Dawning gives the reader a fast paced BUT meaty erotic romp. Great visual writing and descriptive to.! If you are looking for a light, easy and spicy read you will not be let down! The only reason I did not give this one 5 stars is I really wanted a longer story about this cute couple. Ms. Dawning has a very unique sense of humor to her writing. Not a slap you in the face HA-HA but a kind of quirky one that will make you giggle. Not to be missed is our captured couple explaining their relationship to a very perplexed D'ana. This tale is definitely a wise choice for a fun steamy read when you're too pressed for time to curl up with a long book. I would definitely recommend checking out Ms. Dawning's unique writing!

Blurb

Friday night at Mojo’s, while waiting for her movie-star-good- looks boyfriend, Eddy, to meet her, Mandy confides to her friend, Chelsea, that he never came home the night before. Chelsea, a fixture behind the bar at Mojo’s Bar & Grill in L.A., is in a quandary. She knows something her favorite customer, Amanda Carter, doesn’t–but wishes she did–Eddy has been stepping out on her. Hell, he’s even asked Chelsea out! But when he brings his latest fling into Mojo’s, right in front of Amanda, flaunting his infidelity to her friend, Chelsea decides enough is enough.

It’s time to tell Mandy the truth.

Seizing the moment, Chelsea reveals what Mandy’s philandering boyfriend has been up to. Mandy’s reaction is predictable—she’s crushed. However, her response is surprising, setting the stage for Chelsea to show Mandy the real depth of her friendship.

SRR Rating: A

Friday nights at Mojo's was always chaotic. While all the patrons were de-stressing and on the prowl; Chelsea was working for tips and in overdrive. Amanda Carter chose Mojo's on Fridays as her wind down spot and her friend, Chelsea, couldn't be happier. Well, she could but not while Amanda was clueless to her boyfriend, Eddie, spreading his love around the nightclub scene. After dumping Eddie and getting plastered, Chelsea invites Amanda to her home and tells Amanda she is in no shape to drive and going home means going to the apartment she shares with Eddie. Is this the perfect situation for both women to acknowledge the underlying attraction they've felt for each other and experiment with a few new fantasies that pop up?

Oh Wow!! Tattoos did not beat around the bush (ha!) at all. The story was straight forward and direct while being sexy as hell. This was my first story by Dee Dawning and let me tell you, if you are ever worked up and need sexual relief quickly, this quickie will help you along your way.

Amanda seemed to the a nice girl who believed everything her boyfriend told her until her blinders were torn off by her friend Chelsea. By working at Mojo's, I think Chelsea was able to look at situations in her life and know the warning signs when something was going to go wrong. I really liked the point they made that if there was ever a need for an addition to their sex lives, they would fulfill it. They didn't close the door of each other's fantasy.

Be warned, by reading Tattoos be prepared for heavy pulsating in your pants. By not reading it, you are REALLY missing out on a great book, great author, and a sensual experience.

Blurb

Joel is a lucky man. One afternoon after an exhausting day of work, he decides to take a nap on the couch. But his rest is interrupted by giggling and frivolity emanating from the kitchen. More curious than tired, he steals to the kitchen and peeking around the corner, spies his gorgeous girlfriend, Teri and three equally beautiful ladies, all in skimpy bikinis. And guess what they were doing?

Bananaz, is a fast clever read, combining the sexy aspects of erotica with humor. Bananaz is as zany as it’s name implies, yet, oh, so sexy

An Alternative read review

Would you expect being awakened by a bunch of giggling to lead to your biggest fantasy being fulfilled? Well, neither does Joel, but he's mightily thankful when he finds his girlfriend Teri and three of her friends practicing "technique" in his kitchen. What follows is the rollicking afternoon to end all time.

With Bananaz, Dee has given me an insight into just how funny and how much fun sex can really be, from anyone's point of view. The descriptions both arouse and make you smile, if not downright laugh, at the visuals they create, while I just have to wonder how the heck Joel will walk the next day...or if he'll even be able to get up. It's a frolic that starts on page one and made me wish it were a whole lot longer. Thanks, Dee.

Review:

There is lot to be said about
LOVE AND SEDUCTION IN LAS VEGAS by Dee Dawning, but I am just going to write this short review.

I am blown away with the way author Dee Dawning manages to draw me in from the very beginning.

The character of Loretta Bishop is one of a kind that readers won’t help but cheer her on with her generous and fun spirit.

This is definitely like nothing I have read before. It reflects the point of view of four people who’s lives through fate are intertwined together. This shows how tough it can be for a woman no matter what year it is. And it also shows the determination of this woman to make a good life for herself despite the many obstacles in her way.

There is lots of drama going to keep more than one reader entertained. But like all great dramas there’s also great conflict between the main characters of Loretta and Bobby. Especially with the way the author will keep readers wondering about Bobby. But I won’t spoil one of the big secrets by writing about it. If you want to know then you’ll just have to get yourself your own copy of
LOVE AND SEDUCTION IN LAS VEGAS.

I definitely love the way the whole book shifted between the years in between of the life of Loretta Bishop in the span of almost thirty years. And of course who doesn’t love a happy ending.

I give
LOVE AND SEDUCTION IN LAS VEGAS a rating of 5 Stars.

A FIVE ANGEL REVIEW, for Love and Seduction

My Book Love and Seduction has received several favorable to glowing reviews. Here is a five star review from Falling Angels:
LoveandSeductioninLasVegas_Front-Da.jpg Love and Seduction picture by deedawning

Love and Seduction in Las Vegas

Loretta Bishop hasnt had a good life. Falling in love with someone who didnt return her love, only landed her pregnant. Putting the baby up for adoption, she earned her living working as a whore; a benefit that taught her how to please a man sexually. She was not afraid of any sexual inhibitors. Bobbys wife, Mary, left him, for his boss, leaving his ego a bit deflated. His good friend, Gary, enlist his girlfriend, Loretta, to teach Bobby some moves he can put to good use. Bobby finds Loretta nice-looking, even though she is a number of years older. He is surprised when she offers her services of lovemaking to him to help get over his hurt. She certainly is good at her trade. Loretta finds Bobby quite handsome and cant believe any wife would leave him. Everything is great until Bobby learns about her past. He cannot believe she is nothing but a common whore, sleeping with men, and women. Hurt by Bobbys choice of words, Loretta stops the car, leaving him stranded on the Maryland Parkway. When Bobby is able to catch a ride, the young lady is more than willing to allow Bobby to show her a good time. Loretta cant forget Bobby. No matter how much Gary cares for her, she loves Bobby. When Mary returns to Bobby, pleading to come home, he cant release his thoughts on Loretta. He must make a crucial choice about his career and the women in his life, especially when secrets are unraveled.

I am always amazed every time I read a book by Dee Dawning. Just when you think the next one cant get any better, he pens a read that out tops the last. Love and Seduction in Las Vegas is more than just frolicking between the sheets. It is a story of understanding, love, and learning to accept the other, no matter what their past. The character of Loretta is convincing because there are many women caught up in the same dilemma with no where to turn. Sometimes turning to another is the only way they can find the true meaning of love and self. Yet they often pay the price by getting a bad rap. I thought it was commendable the way she shows her vulnerable side. I can understand how Bobby could react when he found out about her past. He had just been jilted by one woman, and deep down, he, too, still has a human side. The stories are believable. The sex is hotter than any sizzling skillet sitting on a hot stove. This read really leaves an impression.

THREE NEW ONES BY DEE DAWNING

Hi Everyone,
This is Dee Dawning. I thought it was about time I told you about some new releases I have coming out at BookStrand. Yeah!

In July we'll see a great little novel about a young college student and a middle aged cocktail waitress. Here's the blurb:

Is handsome, young Bobby Kramer a dream or a nightmare?

Thrust into her life one night, by peculiar circumstances, Loretta Bishop, seventeen years Bobby’s senior, has been tasked with taking the shy, modest pretty boy under her wing and turning him into a lady’s man.

Free spirited and sexually adventurous, Loretta is eminently qualified to teach him the elements of pursuit, seduction and how to please women.

At first, being with Bobby seems like a dream, but clouds begin to gather from Loretta’s spotty sometime sordid past. Feeling guilt after Bobby asks to marry her, Loretta is no longer able to continue and runs away.

Now, it’s up to Bobby to put the methods Loretta has taught him to practical use. Will he succeed and parlay his new talents into love, wealth and power?

Next in August of September will be my spicy Novelette, By the Book. Again the Blurb:

Danny Williams is pleasantly surprised when Sarah, his comely wife, proposes a game to engender fresh excitement into their flagging sex life, one Friday night.

Handing a copy of an erotic novel to Danny, she suggests they re-enact a sex scene from the book once a week. After acting out the first scene, skeptical Danny is convinced and looking forward to for the next 'By the Book' night.

However, Sarah has a plan within a plan. Things start to unravel and events swing beyond Danny’s control, ultimately changing their lives, FOREVER.

Finally, sometime after By the Book my very naughty teaser, Gizmo will be released. Blurb:

Constance Palmeroy receives a package for the future. She opens it and discovers an 'Interactive Transference Device.' Reading the instructions, she realizes that the device will allow her to enter anyone elses body, even of someone on TV or on a recording. After playing around with it for awhile, she drags out a porn movie that features a guy she always drooled over and that's when the fun begins.

What Makes a Romantic Hero Sexy?

My fellow Siren authors joined me in a recent chat where we all agreed that the hero in a romance must be sexy. That’s like telling a chef that your food should taste good, it doesn’t tell the chef what you think tastes good.

So, what does make a male character sexy? Is it all rippling muscles and piercing bedroom eyes? Is there something more to it? Will a reader desire the hero no matter what he does, as long as he is buff with chiseled features?

For me the answer is appearance actually counts for very little. A hero must be something more than arm candy to be sexy. To sell me on him, he has to have the right attitude. I fall in love with a character’s personality, not his body.

That said there are as wide a range of personality characteristics as there are flavors for a chef to present to a diner. A hero can be determined, protective, hard, sweet, considerate, caveman mentality versus modern man mentality, scarred and hostile versus outgoing and relaxed, the list is endless.

As a reader, I enjoy a variety of characteristics in heroes. That said there are some core attributes that make a hero the perfect man for me. I like heroes that are protective, self-assured, considerate and respectful even if they’re rough around the edges. I like them to be determined and with a strong will power. Above all a hero most be faithful, violate this rule and I will put the book down.

What I want to know is what you think makes a character sexy? Are looks more important to you than personality? Are there personality traits you must have in a hero or ones that you wouldn’t tolerate?

Hey, Don't Forget Dee

Since many of the wonderful SirenBookStrand authors are introducing themselves, I thought, I'd do the join in, so here goes. My nom de plume is Dee Dawning and I write contemporary mainstream and erotic romance, sometime with a paranormal element.

I have three current novels with another publisher and BookStrand has contracted, starting in July, to publish three more of my stories, Love & Seduction in Las Vegas, By the Book and Gizmo.

Love and Seduction in Las Vegas, is the story of Loretta Bishop, an erstwhile, middle aged, sexually liberated, Las Vegas cocktail waitress, who suddenly has the enviable task of teaching a movie star good looking college student how to woo and seduce women. It's funny, it's sad and it has a fabulous ending that will make you cry for joy for Loretta.

By the Book is a sexy story about Sarah and Danny Williams, who, trying to add a little spice into their sex life, re-enact a scene a week out of the fictional salacious erotic book, Lascivious Liaisons.

Gizmo? Well Gizmo is a short story about a middle aged woman who suddenly received a device through the mail from the future that allows her to experience phenomenal things.

Sexy, Supernatural, Paranormal

Hi!

On the topic of Sexy and Supernatural. And Paranormal...

My forthcoming Roman historical romance, 'Flavia's Secret', has no paranormal elements, but vampires were already sexy and seductive in the classical world. The ancient Greeks knew of a ghost-like creature called Lamia, who seduced young men and sucked their blood. Cute!

And who would be a husband in medieval Europe? There, a wife or partner might 'inspire' their lover by serving a meal laced with ground-up earthworms!

In the meantime, here's my blurb for 'Flavia's Secret':

Spirited young scribe Flavia hopes for freedom. She and her fellow slaves in Aquae Sulis (modern Bath) have served the Lady Valeria for many years, but their mistress’ death brings a threat to Flavia’s dream: her new master Marcus Brucetus, a charismatic, widowed officer toughened in the forests of Germania. Flavia finds him overwhelmingly attractive but she is aware of the danger. To save her life and those of her ‘family’ she has forged a note from her mistress. If her deception is discovered, all the slaves may die.

For his part, torn between attraction and respect, Marcus will not force himself on Flavia. Flavia by now knows of his grief over the deaths of his wife Drusilla and child: but how can she match up to the serene, flame-haired Drusilla?

As the wild mid-winter festival of Saturnalia approaches, many lives will be changed forever.

Best wishes, Lindsay
