Angelic Forecast ~ #91

“Oops,” I say.
“I know.” The Cherub smiles in that glorious cherub way of his.
I smile in return, my heart lifting to meet his. “It didn’t feel like a Sunday.”
“And, you were concentrating on writing your story.”
“Yes.”
With Moon Dream beside me, we sail on our safe cloud toward what appears to be a dormant volcano. In the distance I suddenly see the traditional type of UFO discs. They flit about reminding me of insects in the summer. Gathering together in a swarm they dive into the top of the volcano, disappearing.
“A base?” I ask, figuring that’s a logical conclusion.
“No. They are mining essential elements found inside some of the most ancient volcanoes.”
“Elements used for?” I prompt.
“What would be called body rejuvenation here, but also to increase the longevity of their crafts.”
“Monotomic elements,” I guess.
“That is one name used for some of what they mine. Copper at what we call its ash vibration is collected, in particular.” The Heavenly One soars us ever closer.
“Why ash copper?”
“The element protects against intrusion by certain negative forces. And before you ask which forces.” The Cherub jets us toward the volcano’s opening. “From what is called exotic weaponry to collective mind attacks.”
“Yeah, you’d need that here. From what I hear about black ops capabalities.”
“They’re coming,” the Heavenly One intones.
“More and more UFO’s?” I ask.

This week on the world stage get set for some early fireworks. Tensions will increase dramatically causing more explosive skirmishes between enemies. As is the usual case now, the wrong culprits will be blamed for wrongdoings while the real culprits shadow themselves in lies and every media sorcery available. There will be a real bright spot. An individual of true courage will emerge into the spotlight and change the course of history.

On a personal level this week, now is the time to take a small breather. Relax, get to know some new neighbors. Talk to someone you keep running into during your daily activities, but have never met. Also, this is the time to organize for any kind of community event. Those who are natural leaders will have a glow about them. In a leisurely fashion form groups that will better life for All. Remember respect goes a long way toward working together and achieving good results.

Can love heal all wounds? Lucas Mitchell returned from Iraq a bitter, changed man, wracked with guilt over his friend's death. He buys an old mansion and deals with his injuries and grief by restoring his new home and rehabilitating retired racehorses.

Joy Kovacs falls in love with Lucas at first sight. Descended from gypsies who are still influenced by the lingering effects of the Holocaust, her family follows the traditional ways. A husband has already been selected for her, and her father insists she work at their ethnic restaurant. But Joy wants to use her talent and be an artist, and she wants no one but Lucas.

How can Joy find a way to help Lucas break out of his prison of grief? Although they've committed their hearts to each other, can the growing love and passion between Lucas and Joy survive her family's insistence that she marry within her culture?

"As a high school teacher, I've had to watch many young people, students whom I love, put on uniforms and head to Iraq. While I'm thankful they're all doing well, I felt there was a story to tell about them. Lucas Mitchell represents those students I've had the pleasure of knowing who make the noble choice to serve their country." ~Sandy~

Question Time: Which Three Books Are On Your Reading List for This Summer?

While I read all year long, there's something about summer reading that makes it even better. Maybe it's the longer days or the slower pace, but I tend to pick up longer reads that I can spend hours at a time sitting with.

I noticed a pattern for myself in the past few interviews I've done and the one thread that seems to travel through this is what lured me to historical romance reading. While I write romantic suspense with paranormal overtones, for my reading pleasure I choose historical romances. My plan is to re-read all of my Rosemary Rogers books this summer but....we are Siren have our summer sizzler event starting in a few days and I know my TBR is going to grow in a big way as I see what my fellow authors have in the offering.

So what are your top three reads for this summer?

Wednesday's Words for May 26, 2010

Thanks to everyone who sent me “good luck” messages last week with regard to my impending classroom visit.

I had a great time on Friday! The first thing that impressed me was the high praise the teacher had for his students. I could tell immediately here was a man who respected the young people under his tutelage. I think that’s important. These students range in age from 15 to 18. They are on that cusp between adolescence and adulthood. If they perceive the respect with which they—and by definition their thoughts and ideas—are treated, then they will respond with that part of themselves that edges toward grown up status.

The students were delightful. They paid attention, asked thoughtful questions and laughed politely at my lame jokes. Who could ask for more than that?

I was nervous, of course—but not until that morning, as I was waiting to meet the teacher. But then I settled in, and from the way the teacher, sitting in the back, kept nodding as I answered question after question I think it went well.

It was strange stepping foot in that school again after so many years. Each of my children attended there, and I know there were several occasions when I had to go and meet with teachers. But the building didn’t seem at all familiar to me. Likely, since the majority of those visits were unpleasant in nature, I’ve blocked them from my memory.

This seems to be my time for going back to school. At the end of this week, I’ll have occasion to visit another High School, in another town. This one is the school I attended, and the occasion is the school’s 50th anniversary.

My beloved and I attended the 25th anniversary and that doesn’t seem, in my mind, to have been 25 years ago. In scanning the posted list of confirmed alumni returning for the festivities, I only recognized a handful of names, most of them teachers.

My beloved has a theory on this, of course. He thinks that mostly people who range from 30 to 40 years old will be the ones eager to walk down memory lane, visit the beer tent, or attend the Saturday night party. Folks our age, he assures me, really aren’t as inclined to go.

I didn’t have to wonder if that was a hint, because I knew, in a way, it was. I reminded Mr. Ashbury that I had asked him if he wanted to go, and that I only registered us because he’d said yes.

Again, the event that holds the most appeal to me is an alumni/student assembly that will kick off the celebrations. Some former students who have achieved success will speak to the student body, and then there will be mentoring sessions. These sessions will group students and alumni together for the purposes of mentoring, encouraging today’s student to dare to set goals—to, if you’ll pardon the cliché, reach for the stars.

While I won’t be speaking on stage, I will attend the mentoring sessions. I think it’s important for young people to understand how vital it is to have a dream. They need to know that even if so much seems to be against them, they can change their lives if they want to. I am, as you know, a great believer in empowerment.

I believe in people reaching out and making things happen for themselves, rather than sitting and waiting for someone to hand them something.

And I’m going to take the opportunity to listen, as well. This is a different world than the one I grew up in, and I think today’s student can teach me more than a thing or two.

Love,
Morgan

Angelic Forecast ~ #90

‘We desire that you love us.’ The lovely dolphin’s words resound in my mind, then reside in my heart. Oh, how I desperately wish love, our love for each other, did rule the world.
“It will,” the Heavenly One calmly offers. “Each act of love, no matter how small or trivial it may appear, becomes the future, and will create a paradise on Earth.”

I sigh with my soul. “Love takes discrimination, though, doesn’t it?”

“Go on.” The Cherub voice glows around me, within me.

“Unless it comes directly from the heart,” I finish my next thought.
“Too many in these times think and feel with what we in the angelic realm call their ‘false heart’.”
“They believe they are doing the right thing and acting out of their love. But, it’s the ole maximum, isn’t it? The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I know I’ve said that before.”

“Yes, their hearts have been seized by the dark forces. The dark force that resides within them or the dark force that prevents them from knowing their hearts.”
“I know the feeling. It’s hard to know what’s true, at times. Am I acting out of real love or my ‘false heart’ as you called it.”

“There is good news.” The Heavenly One gradually sails our cloud higher into a blue, blue sky. “The angelic realm is sending crystalline waves of discernment. It has been realized this vibration was needed for humanity to overcome their false hearts.”

~~~~~~
During this week watch out for more nasty weather. As Earth changes take hold at a new and more dangerous level, you may find yourself needing to take evasive and swift action. Use your intuition, your connection to the Divine to discover safe places. Further, during the following week, a kingpin will emerge on the World Stage. This individual’s appearance will be cloaked in every manner of deception. Strip away the garments of deceit, and you will see THE TRUTH.
On a personal level take a look at local food growers this week. If you are growing your own food gardens, seek ways to improve them, new methods that will benefit you and others. In these times, it becomes ever more wise to know the sources of your food. Local organic farming is on the rise. The more you purchase from these folks, the more you and everyone in your community has the opportunity to thrive.
Sizzling Summer Reads and Contests - Oh My!
With Memorial Day and a vacation around the corner my thoughts are turning to summer reading. I tend to go for heavier reads in the fall and winter and look for more light hearted ones in the warmer months. Makes sense, huh? So I was delighted when a number of us at Siren-Bookstrand decided to get together for a sizzling summer event. We'll have some excerpts, some contests and time to talk about our current works in progress and what we're reading.
With the release of my own summer book, The Glass Cage, this past week my thoughts are turning to book 3 in the series. So far my working title is Flame, but we'll see where it goes -- yes, there will be fire and a fire fighter or two in it -- as well as the return of Ryan Michaels. Adrian may have confessed to stalking Kelly, but you have to wonder about Ryan and if he really supports her latest endeavor.
I've already picked out my summer reads including a few Mariah Stewart and I pulled out some of my original Rosemary Rogers to re-read.
So what are you looking forward to reading this summer?
Wednesday's Words for May 19, 2010
I’m about to do something this week that I can honestly say I have never done before. On Friday I will visit our local High School, where I will speak to the creative writing class about the writer’s life.
I know this prospect would unnerve a lot of people. It would have terrified me several years ago. Fortunately I’ve reached that point in my life where things of this nature don’t make me nervous. I am who I am, and you can take me or leave me.
That’s not to say I’ve not been thinking long and hard about what I’m going to say to a room full of 17 and 18 year-old budding novelists. I’ve been giving it a great deal of thought, in fact.
I once had a writing friend who attended a seminar given by a well-know Canadian author who is no longer living. I asked him what it was like, and he said that he’d survived it. That is to say, this noted raconteur did everything in his power to convince all the budding novelists who had paid darn good money to hear his words of wisdom that they were fooling themselves if they ever thought they could get published.
As you can surmise if you’re a reader of my essays, that is not what my message is going to be.
I believe in being positive, thinking positive and expecting positive things to happen. I’ve had both trauma and drama in my life, and a healthier than necessary dose of bad luck and things going wrong. But the way I see it, everyone does, and if I don’t surrender to the negative then it doesn’t matter how many times bad luck strikes. It will never truly win.
The teacher asked if I could share what my life as an author is like, and that’s easy enough to do. I really have the best job in the world. I get to go to work every day in my pyjamas, and if for some reason I don’t like my playmates, I can change them so that I do, or I can get new playmates altogether.
I truly believe there has never been a better time for becoming a published author. This medium of the Internet is changing constantly. When I published my first novel in 2007 it could be said that e-books were truly a niche market. That is changing, and changing fast. Now, most NY publishers have adopted a “publishing model” for producing e-books. Amazon is selling the Kindle by the hundreds of thousands, and more and more people are going “green” and choosing e-books over print.
Some people, I’ve been told, will only order print books of those e-books they particularly liked.
There are more opportunities today for authors who want to be published than ever before in all the history of human kind. That’s the message I want to give to those students. I want to tell them that the key to success in anything, is not giving up. I want to tell them, and have them believe, that they can do anything they set their minds to—but that doesn’t mean the road getting there will be easy.
I don’t know whether that message will get through, or fall on deaf ears. I can only do my best, and really, if you do your best, that’s all anyone—including you—can ask of yourself.
Love,
Morgan
The Glass Cage by Regan Taylor -- An Exercise is Catharsis and Celebration!
Most of my books have at least one element of my life in them. In Her Eyes, co-written with Jennifer Cloud, we had an element of walk-ins, what happens when a soul isn't ready to move on and it finds a new body/home to reside in. His Eyes went a bit further with my belief in reincarnation. My kitty, Ginny, has a guest appearance in one scene.
I used to work in law enforcement. In fact, I was recently taken to task by a fellow dispatcher at the California Highway Patrol for not mentioning CHP in my bio. That will shortly be remedied. He didn't exactly write me about it; rather he bcc'd me on a mass email he sent to a rather large number of dispatchers I used to work with, updating them on what I was doing and did they notice they didn't rate a place in my bio. He then wrote and told me he didn't mean anything bad by it. Uh huh. The CHP has a minor part in my current work in progress. They were there before I received said email. It was my experiences working in local law enforcement that drew me to writing the McKenna series. We had a stalking case while I was there. He didn't do anything the stalker in The Spell does, but with my background in psychology I did spend time looking at what motivates a stalker.
The Glass Cage, book 2 of the series, available ohhhhhh in about 4 hours here at Siren-Bookstrand, draws more intensely on my own experience in the police department. The ride along scene is similar to one I actually experienced. Even though that incident happened about 7 years ago, I still got goosebumps when I wrote the scene, remembering what I saw and felt that night. Watching a suspect reach for a gun when you're maybe only five feet away is tense to say the least. It also draws on an experience that 5 of my friends and I shared. Not out of choice, it was perhaps one of the most horrible experiences in any of our lives. I could not have written The Glass Cage without Eb, Lori, Maggie, Karin and Sandy, the friends I dedicated it to. We supported each other during the experience and out of that trial by fire we forged friendships of a lifetime. Of all my books, this one was the most cathartic.
Angelic Forecast ~ #89
“The Dolphin people,” I say softly. The images disappear. “Are there still Dolphin people here on Earth?” I ask as I continue caressing my hand over the sweet dolphin’s water-slick body. She smiles and seems content to stay close.
‘We are here.’
As if spoken by several people or beings, I hear the words in my mind.
‘I hope you are safe,’ I return, thinking of the disastrous oil spill taking place in the Gulf of Mexico, and thinking of all the horror-pollution in the ocean, including the bombing tests being done that leave a massive killing field behind.
‘We have created several safe areas.’
Their words comfort me a bit and a part of me aches to visit with them, wherever they are.
‘I wish you well,’ I mentally say, feeling disheartened by the dark place a lot of the world has become.
Unbidden, the tears flow. Moon Dream cuddles closer. Moving from beneath my hand, the sweet dolphin twists around so she is upright in the water, and watching me.
I smile at her. What else can I do?
‘Pray. Pray for us. As we pray for you.’
‘Yes, I will,’ I promise.
She spins, diving beneath the jewel-glistening sea.
‘We love you,’ I hear. ‘We desire that you love us.’
~~~~~~

In the week ahead, there will be three major world trends that come into existence. However, as they emerge onto the world stage, the truth of their existence will be hidden from view by THOSE who have everything to lose. To know what these three key trends are, keep your eyes peeled and look for what is not being said, yet is obvious, if discernment and logic of thought is used.

On a personal level, now is the time to notice the essential small things in your life, or those things that make up the background of your life. For example, the local stores you frequent. Focus on all those things and places you rely on, then ask yourself, how would I replace them, if they suddenly weren’t available anymore? Live with this question during the week and make appropriate plans. This will be invaluable later.
Now is also the time reach out to someone you haven’t been in communication with recently.

Wednesday's Words for May 12, 2010

Just before Mother’s Day, I picked my sister up from the city and brought her out to the countryside, to the community where we used to live as kids.

The first home I ever lived in was a tiny two-bedroom frame insulbrick house situated on about a half acre of land that abutted onto a limestone quarry. Yes, the same quarry my beloved slaves in today. When I turned seven, and a year before my father died, mom and dad bought the larger four-bedroom frame-and-stucco farm house next door. After moving us in, they fixed up the “little house”, and used it as an income property. My beloved and I rented it from my mother the second year we were married.

The larger house is the one I recall the best. This was the house I really grew up in, where I learned to garden and cut grass and shovel the driveway in winter. Where, after my mother passed away, I and my husband and our first born moved into and called home for ten years.

Both houses are gone now. Time marches on and things change, and there really is no going back. Of course the properties are still there. And so, too, are the two flowering crab apple trees we bought my mother just a couple of years before she died.

My sister likes to come out to the countryside every spring when the lilacs are in bloom. The side of the road holds many of these trees, and since they are on “county” land and not private property, those lilacs are yours for the cutting.
She lives in a tiny apartment with her husband of 20 years. Neither of them drive, and their building is in an old and crowded part of the city. But she, like myself, remains a country girl at heart. I bring her out a few times a year, and certainly as often as she wishes to venture away from home which, as she’s getting older, isn’t all that often anymore. For those afternoons I play the role of her chauffeur, and often we spend those drives visiting old haunts.

About four miles from where we grew up is a small creek, an off-shoot of Spencer Creek. I don’t know if this tiny water way has a real name, or not. None is posted that I have ever seen. Growing up, we called it Nichols Creek (we pronounced it ‘crick’). We called it that, because the farmer on whose land it partially ran was old Mr. Nichols, and on Saturdays and Sundays he would let you go swimming there, for five cents a head. The water was murky because of mud, but was otherwise clean. If you were going swimming, you took your towel, your bathing suit, and your salt shaker.

Sounds incredibly gross now, but as kids we had no qualms about swimming in the brown water and checking for leeches afterward.

Some places from our past we can’t visit. The pond across the road from where we lived, where we would catch tadpoles in the summer and skate on in the winter is gone. It dried up, and then the other quarry—yes, lucky us we had two in our neighbourhood—created an earthen berm where the pond used to be. The forest where we played, where we had forts made from natural little glades, the willow tree that grew it’s branches to the ground and on which we used to swing and play Tarzan…all these magical places have long since become the victims of progress. Fortunately, we have those memories, so those places do live on, in a way.

Mother’s Day is a day for family, yes. But of course for me, it’s also a time to remember not just my mother, but the me I used to be all those years ago.

I hope your Mother’s Day was filled with love and laughter, and memories both old and new.

Love,
Morgan

Zac Sheehan is a Delta wolf, the council enforcer, sent out to eliminate those that broke the rules. It’s a lonely existence, leaving him on the fringes of werewolf society. All Zac wants is to find his mate and live in peace.
While on a mission, Zac finds the one thing he’s been looking for all of his life, his mate. Matt is everything Zac ever wanted in a mate, loving, caring, and drop dead gorgeous. Zac couldn’t be happier, or so he thinks. But as another mission looms, Zac discovers that things could be more dangerous than he thought. The wolf he’s been sent to eliminate is his other mate.

STORY EXCERPT
Just as he got back to the motel and almost to his room, Zac heard someone shout. “Wait, I’m the Alpha.” That got Zac’s attention. He slowed down and turned around, eyeing the man.
“You’re the Alpha?”
“Yes. I’m going to slowly approach you so you can see I’m not out of my mind with lust, ok?”
“Yeah, ok, come on though, I want to get in my room,” Zac replied. The man seemed fine. When he was a couple of feet away, Zac nodded and led the Alpha towards his room. Letting him in, he locked the door and closed the curtains. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware of a pack in the area. I would have made my presence known to you.”
“I figured as much. I’m Donatello Rain, Alpha of the local pack,” the man said, extending his hand.
“Zac Sheehan, Delta from the Kankakee Pack. I was out this way to handle something for the council. I stopped here tonight before heading home tomorrow.”
“Nice to meet you, Zac,” Donatello said letting go of his hand. “My Beta is keeping the others at bay until they calm down and head home, so you should be good for the night.”
“So… we’re ok then?” Zac asked, knowing that some packs hated Deltas, killing any that are born or they come into contact with. Other packs would capture them for their gifts and the power they bring.
“We’re good, you have nothing to fear from us, Zac. I promise as Alpha. Let me text my Beta so he can head over here when he’s done and give the all clear.”
“Thanks, I appreciate it. There’s no way I could have gotten away from all of them. I can handle several lusting wolves, but no way a whole bar full.” Zac chuckled.
“Boy, would you have been sore! And I would have some dead in the frenzy I’m sure.”
“Yeah, it’s great to be a Delta sometimes,” Zac replied with a frown.
“Hey, I feel the same way about Alpha at times. You do the best you can. That’s all you can do, really.”
“I know, I do, just had a hell of a hunt. I wanted nothing more than to kick back and have a couple beers, maybe get laid. Is that too much to ask?” Zac asked. Before Donatello could answer there was a knock at the door.
“Sam, everything go ok?” Donatello asked after he opened the door. “Matt, what are you doing here?”
“Matt was unaffected by the Delta,” Sam replied, sharing a knowing look with Donatello.
“Really?” Donatello asked with a goofy tone.
“So what? What’s the big deal?” Matt asked and stopped in the doorway, just staring at Zac. “Hi.”
“Hi,” Zac replied stepping closer. He grabbed Matt’s arm and pulled him inside the room and closed the door. “You know who I am?” Zac couldn’t believe this was the man from the bar. He was the best looking male he’d ever seen.
“You’re a Delta. I’m drawn to you. I’m not going crazy like the others, but I want you,” Matt said before he could shut up. “I’m sorry, I… I don’t know why I said that.”
“I do,” Zac whispered before lowering his lips down to Matt’s. It was just a soft brush of the lips, but Zac felt the electricity from that kiss go straight to his dick. He’d never been so hard in his life!
“Wow,” Matt whispered against his mouth. “That’s why everyone wants to have sex with a Delta.”
“It’s not about him being a Delta, Matt,” Donatello said from behind them. “Only Alphas, Betas, and the Delta’s mates aren’t affected by their scent. Matt, you know you aren’t an Alpha or a Beta.”
“You’re—really? Wow, I must have done something right in my life, I mean, you’re hot!” Matt replied beaming at Zac.
“Glad you think so,” Zac chuckled releasing Matt. “How old are you?”
“Twenty-two,” Matt said quietly. “Is that ok?”
“Wow, that’s well, that’s pretty young. Are you ok with being mated that young?” Zac asked, stepping back to look at the younger, much smaller man. He’s got to be only 5’9” and about 150 pounds. But man, he is gorgeous, look at that body! Matt was lean, not skinny by any means, with gorgeous green eyes and angelic blonde hair.
“Yes, of course,” Matt answered going back over to Zac and wrapping his arms around his waist.
Zac gave Donatello and then Sam a panicked look. Twenty-two just seemed so young to his thirty. Plus, Matt was so small he barely came to his chest. Being 6’4”, Zac was used to towering over people. But to be mated to someone so much smaller, wouldn’t he break him?
“Ok, just give me a minute, Matt,” Zac replied separating Matt from him. “Let me talk with your Alpha before we talk about being mates, ok?”
“Don’t you want to be my mate?” Matt asked softly, looking at the floor. He looked like he was trying not to cry.
“Of course I do, I just need to deal with one thing at a time,” Zac whispered in his ear. “Why don’t you go sit down on the bed so I can handle this?” Matt just nodded and walked over to sit on the bed while the other three men talked.
“Be careful with him, I’m pretty sure he’s not experienced,” Donatello told Zac quietly and Sam nodded in agreement.
“Thanks for the heads up,” Zac replied with a heavy sigh. Finding his young, probably virgin mate, was not what he had in mind when he thought about getting laid tonight. “Give me your cell number in case I have any issues tonight with any of your pack, and I’ll be out of here in the morning.”
Donatello gave Zac his number and he put it in his cell before they said their goodbye’s. Closing the door, locking it behind them, Zac headed over to the bed and sat next to Matt.
“What now?” Matt asked, regaining some of his composure.
“Now we talk,” Zac started, “I’m Zac Sheehan. I’m Delta of the Kankakee pack, which is in Central Illinois.”
“I’m Matt Garrett, I don’t have a rank.”
“So, you know if you want to mate with me, you’ll be moving, right?”
“Of course!” Matt replied. He seemed to be surprised Zac asked.
“And you’re ok with that?”
“Yeah, it’ll be a little weird. I’ve only had this as my pack, but I don’t have any family left or rank in my pack. Moving to your pack makes sense.”
“Ok, well that gets one issue out of the way,” Zac said taking a deep breath before he continued. “Do you know a lot about Deltas?”
“The basics… you can change into an invisible wolf, you’re a loaner, and you stay away from the pack mostly.”
“You know I also have two mates, right?”
“Two mates?” Matt asked astounded, “Do you already have your other one?”
“No, I’ve not found my other mate yet.”
“Are they going to be my mate too?”
“I’m not really sure to be honest,” Zac replied scratching his head, thinking. “I guess if you wanted to, and they wanted to. I don’t really know how other Deltas do it. We’ll just have to figure it out, ok?” After Matt nodded, he continued, “So you know I’m a loaner. I mean it’s inflicted on me in a way, but I’ve been one since I was 18 and no longer a cub. Twelve years is a long time to be by myself, so you’re going to have to be patient with me. I’m not that good at interacting with people, so I might screw up a lot.”
“Well, my parents died years ago, so I kind of get that,” Matt said. “And I heard what they said. I’m not a virgin.”
“Ok,” Zac replied, not sure what else to say. Instead he reached over picked Matt up and put him on his lap so he could look into his face. “But we’ll take things slow and you’ll tell me if I do anything you don’t like or that hurts you, promise?”
“I promise,” Matt agreed shyly. “So, what now?”
“I guess if you’re ok with what I said and you don’t have any questions—do you want me to claim you?”
“More than anything,” Matt groaned.
“You’re so adorable, you know that? The sexiest little man I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to be your mate.”
“Me? Are you kidding me, you’re gorgeous. I feel bad you got stuck with me.”
“Don’t ever talk about yourself that way,” Zac growled at Matt. “I noticed you in the bar before I could smell you were my mate. I wanted you then, and now you’re mine!”

Angelic Forecast ~ #88

My smile couldn’t be any wider. The dolphins frolic around us. My heart and spirit fly and splash with them. I’m so entranced, I don’t ask about the underwater city of Atlantis.
The sun is shining gloriously. All around me is the ocean’s beauty. In the far distance, the glistening sand contrasts with the darker rocks.
“Ooooh,” I coo as one of the dolphins ventures close.
Touching my leg with her nose, she seems to invite my touch. I say she because she looks like a girl to me.
I offer my hand slowly, then carefully stroke her head. She sidles closer, seeming to want more of my petting.
“I hope you’re not jealous,” I tease Moon Dream.
Gently, I stroke her dolphin body. Before I know it a scene forms before my mind’s eye.
The alabaster temple reminds me of artist’s renderings of Atlantis. I watch as tall beings, who are somewhat different in appearance, glide swiftly toward the ocean and dive in. More follow as if they run for their lives. Once in the water they become dolphins.

During the following week more turmoil hits the world stage. Big time. It will be like firecrackers exploding in various locations on the Fourth of July. Take cover where necessary, and hunker down. Pretend, the worst kind of pirates have landed and are now looting and pillaging your village. To put it metaphorically, this is what is occurring on world-wide scale.

On a personal level this week brings the opportunity to improve your home and your home life. Look for ways to set up and organize your home in a way that makes you happier and more productive. Also, pay attention to what will improve your relationship with those who live with you. If you’re in a situation where a relationship has deteriorated, it may be time to let go. It may be time for you move on, or encourage the other person to move on.

Wednesday's Words for May 5, 2010

What a fabulous time I had at RT! It was so good to meet new people, reconnect with old friends, to laugh and, after Wednesday, become a holy terror or a motorized scooter in the corridors of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Columbus Ohio.

But before I go into any more details about the happenings at RT, I really need to share with you the highlights of the last week of my preparations. I related this particular adventure to a few people in Columbus, and as I thought on it, I decided I needed to share this with everyone.

If you’re a reader of my essays you know that I love my husband very much. You know what a pillar of support he has been to me as I pursue this dream of mine. But sometimes I worry that I’ve led you to believe he is pretty close to being perfect; certainly I’ve assured you I’m not anywhere near perfect. Now I feel it’s time for me to reveal the truth about Mr. Ashbury.

About a week and a half before leaving for RT, my beloved, when I fetched him from work one evening, asked me if I was going to color my hair before the event. I’d stopped coloring it about a year ago. I asked him if he thought I should. And he said, “Well, you are looking a little old and frumpy.”

He hastened (like greased lightning, he reminds me) to add that I would feel better about myself if I did color my hair.

Since he also said he preferred my hair to have a reddish hue, I went out and bought hair color and had my daughter help me since I had so much grey and didn’t want to miss any.

I picked him up at work and he gushed over how good I looked. My response was a quiet thank-you, and the announcement that, sadly, some of the new shirts I had purchased for my trip from an expensive ladies wear store that looked so nice with white hair simply clashed with the red, and I would have to buy more new, expensive tops, as I surely didn’t want to appear old and frumpy in Columbus.

Mr. Ashbury swallowed hard, and nodded his agreement.

A couple days later, when I fetched him from work, he got into the car, looked at me, and said, “My God, you’re wearing make-up!” I hadn’t worn make up in many years. He assured me it looked very good. I nodded. Then I said, “Well, I didn’t want to go to Columbus looking old and frumpy, so I went to the department store and sat at the Clinique counter and asked the beautician there to give me one of those free makeovers.”

Mr. Ashbury seemed to relax as he said it did indeed look lovely.

“Yes,” I agreed, “I liked it so much I told that sweet young lady that I would take one of everything she used on me.”

At this point, I believe Mr. Ashbury was sincerely wishing he’d never even heard of the words “old and frumpy”. I did check, and his resulting scream, when I told him how much I had spent, wasn’t quite sufficiently loud enough to impact the USGS earthquake sensors. But I’ll bet it was close!

I did indeed wear my new clothes and make-up at RT. I rented a scooter to help me to get around when I discovered how easy it could be done. I was a bit dangerous early on, that first day, but soon got the little beastie under control.

I got to have a lovely lunch with Joy, from Joyfully Reviewed; I had dinner with a group of talented authors including Emma Wildes, Lara Santiago, Kristen Painter, my roommate Raina James, sister Sirens Tonya Ramagos and Sandy Sullivan, author Victoria Alexander, a gracious and engaging lady whom I met for the first time, and my friend Kelley Armstrong.

Going to RT, seeing the same faces of devoted readers, loyal volunteers, and fellow authors is in many ways like coming home. Thanks to all who took the time to come see me either in Club RT or at the two book signing events.

Having people seek me out just to say hello or to tell me they enjoy my words, is the greatest fringe benefit of this wonderful career I have!

Love,
Morgan

Angelic Forecast ~ #87

“The dragon’s flame,” I repeat. In my heart of hearts I hope the globalists bullies will meet with justice, and soon.
“The less revealed about the future of the dragon’s flame, the better, for now.” The Heavenly One uses his serious tone.
“Fun?”
The cloud takes a near forty-five degree turn and we swiftly sail toward a pristine-looking beach bordered by low rock-jutting cliffs. Before I know it we settle on top of the ocean, a sparkling rippling turquoise.
Instinctively, I hold Moon Dream tight so she won’t fall in.
“Oh, this is nice,” I say as we gently bob. as the breezes warmly wrap around us.
Suddenly, several Flippers pop above the surface, chattering a welcome. I smile. My insides light up like the brightness of the sun. I love dolphins.
“Your friends?” I ask the Cherub.
“They’ve arrived from the underwater city of Atlantis.”
“Underwater city of Atlantis,” I mumble, enchanted by the idea, yet stunned.
Questions rise, bubbling up madly. Before I can ask anything, the four dolphins skitter backwards rapidly. Diving below, they break the surface moments later, leaping high, and leaping joyously.
In what appears to be an impromptu performance, the dolphins circle us. Jumping and twisting, their bodies glisten in the sunshine. Speeding away in four different directions, they swim back as swiftly, then launch themselves above us as if in flight.
The four crisscrossing dolphins are a glorious sight to behold.

~~~~~~
For the following week situational storms brew like the potions of an evil witch. Once again, the best strategy is to take care of yourself and your loved ones. The criminal and corrupt doings of many operating on the world stage are surfacing, and boiling with poisonous fumes that are affecting all of us, and will affect all of us. The more we all work in harmony with each other, as the people, the less affect their corruption will have.
On a personal level, it is wise to use good weather days for outside pursuits and gardening. Consider how you can use your resources to turn your surroundings into a self-sufficient haven. Harken back to a time when farm families had ways to care for themselves, ways that are no longer practiced. For example, candle-making, a way to store water if needed, pantries to stock up food and supplies, a sewing kit. Now is the time to organize the necessities of life.
