Jasmine’s Urban Cowboys

Laura Ashton
Contemporary erotic romance
Available from Siren Publishing
ISBN: 1-60601-444-7
May 2009

Jasmine Harper had a bad year. After a bitter separation and divorce, she now wanted to celebrate. She and her best friend Brenda went for drinks with a couple of Brenda’s bowling friends. Brenda left early. Jaz partied until she was almost drunk. She invited the two men to come to her place.

Greg Gregory and his uncle, Ted Rawlins, were surprised and definitely excited when their newly-met friend invited them to her home. Greg and Ted were fabulously beautiful men with dynamic personalities. The upcoming night promised to be one not to be forgotten.

This book by Laura Ashton was forceful. The sexual scenes were both explicit and frequent. The fact that Jaz was going to have to choose one man was the underlying question that kept surfacing throughout the manuscript. The powerful men were vibrant and forceful. However, they always seemed to toe-the-line when it came to Jaz’s demands. It was strange how she was able to call all the shots in their unusual relationship.

I was impressed with the depth of the characters, both the main and supporting ones. The storyline was well developed and I found myself immersed in this book. The fact that these men were wealthy made no difference to Jaz until they were able to open doors for her professionally which changed her life completely.

The sexual tension was vigorous and frequent. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. The sensuality was explicit but, while a big part of the book, did not come across as nothing but sex. The ménage was uninhibited. The ending was totally unexpected.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys M/F/M. The fact that there was such a strong storyline assured me that the book would be remembered. It’s a great read which will not disappoint any readers.

MR Review
By the Book
by Dee Dawning

Sarah is beautiful newlywed who loves her husband, but wants to spice up their boring sex life. So she borrows her best friend’s Lascivious Liaison's book; she is planning to re-create the scenes with her husband.

Danny is a handsome and loving husband who thinks his wife and his sex life is great until Sarah, one Friday night, drops the truthful bomb.

Sarah and Danny’s sex life takes on a whirlwind life of its own. Danny is willing to go along with it to help keep his marriage intact, but what starts out as a every man’s fantasy soon turns into a nightmare. Danny discovers that his wife and her best friend, Tish, are lovers. Now Danny has to decide if he wants them both or not.

By The Book
is a great read. It poses some interesting “what would you do” questions. I love the way the characters draw you into the story, and really make you think. By The Book is a definite mind blower that you have to read.

Sensual Awakenings 1: Jasmine's Urban Cowboys
Jasmine Harper, once model now talented interior designer, is ready to celebrate being a free woman. With her divorce final, she invites a good friend Brenda out to help paint the town. Brenda has an idea, why doesn't Jasmine go bowling with her then when the game is over, the two can go out for some drinks. Jasmine agrees, never expecting to meet two handsome men at the bowling alley. Gabe Gregory and his Uncle Ted have a certain chemistry about him that makes Jaz feel tingly and warm all over. Gabe wants to introduce Jaz to his Uncle Ted who wants to show the lovely lady a good time. Brenda fakes an excuse to leave, suggesting Jaz not only take Ted up on any offer, but go for the gusto and have Gabe join them. After giving it considerable thought, why not, that is if the men are game. What man wasn't game to experiment with sexy Jaz? When Jaz heads home to prepare for Gabe and Ted's arrival, she still wonders can she go through with it. After all, what woman wouldn't desire four hands instead of two discovering her body? When the heat rises, will it be what Jaz expected or will it cause the party girl to crash never wishing to be around any man again?

Sensual Awakenings, Book One: Jasmine's Urban Cowboys is a dynamite read. Jaz's character is a blast. She has spark, is fun, down to earth, and the type to go after what she wants. The story sizzles with Jaz, Gabe and Ted. The
secondary characters are robust and add just the right amount of seasoning to keep the story moving at a good pace. I enjoy Brenda and the friendship she and Jaz share. There are some pleasant twists and turns along the way that the reader doesn't know what Jaz has up her sleeve next. With some surprises and anticipations, Laura Ashton awakens the senses and breathes life into the pages. She makes Jaz real by placing her in a situation where the players must make decisions, while following their heart. I definitely want to read the second and the third in this astounding series.

FIVE DELIGHTFUL DIVAS AND RECOMMENDED READ FOR LOVE AND SEDUCTION IN LAS VEGAS

Love and Seduction in Las Vegas by Dee Dawning

Love and Seduction in Las Vegas by Dee Dawning
Publisher: Book Strand
Genre: Contemporary erotica

Summary:
Thrust into her life one night by peculiar circumstances, Loretta Bishop, seventeen years Bobby's senior, has been tasked with taking the shy, modest pretty boy under her wing and turning him into a lady's man. Free spirited and sexually adventurous, Loretta is eminently qualified to teach him the elements of pursuit, seduction, and how to please women. At first, being with Bobby seems like a dream, but clouds begin to gather from Loretta's spotty and sometime sordid past. Feeling guilt after Bobby asks to marry her, Loretta is no longer able to continue and runs away. Now, it's up to Bobby to put the methods Loretta has taught him to practical use. Will he succeed and parlay his new talents into love, wealth, and power?

[Erotic Contemporary Multiple Partner Romance: Contains graphic sexual content and adult language.]

My Review:
You are sooo going to need a box of Kleenex and a good bottle of wine before this tale is done.

The story starts out a little different then I am used to, both points of view are used and I have to say it was really refreshing. We meet Loretta, or as she likes to be called Ella, in the bathroom of a casino in Tahoe, CA. She is working her shift and is bone tired. She meets a lovely young girl with her beautiful daughter and is captivated by her blue eyes. She begins to recall the only other person who had eyes like she did.

From there it is a whirlwind of her past life and times. We meet Loretta at a young age hurting and desperate to make something of herself. We see her progress and change and become a very sexual woman, self confident and unthawed by what people might think of her.

As the story unfolds we meet Bobby, a very shy insecure boy who needs help with his love making skills. He has been shunned by his wife and left behind by her and a casino pit manager. Loretta agrees to help him on the condition that they don’t fall for each other, the big reason being their age difference, she was 17 years his senior.

In the week they spend together, they become very close and Ella, just can’t get over the fact that Bobby looks like someone from her past. But as we all know we can’t always have a great book with no conflict or hurt and yeah now is when you need the Kleenex. Bobby says some things that hurt Ella and she leaves him. She can’t believe he would use what she had done in her past against her and she can’t believe she has feelings for him.

Months pass and we get to see everything from Bobby’s eyes and for the first time I was thoroughly upset with the whole story. The way he treats his wife is appalling and yes I can understand he was hurt but what he does to her is demeaning and just not right. But I was determined to see this story through, I thought surely there has to be a redeeming quality here, maybe it was the hurt talking and acting in this and I needed to give it a chance.

I was glad I did, as everything comes to a head we find out about his wife’s childhood and we see real remorse for what Bobby has done to make her problem worse.

In the end, more than ten years from where we started everyone’s lives have been woven together to form a truly romantic and heart felt feel good book. If I have anything negative to say it is watch your dates, Ms. Dawning refers to a particular date more then once, but when you see it repeated through the latter half of the book it has changed from June of 1976 to June of 1985. Easy mistake and truthfully it didn’t distract from the story.

All and I was left with a big ‘ol sappy feeling in the pit of my heart, I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something sweet but a little naughty.

Rated 5 Delightful Divas and a Recommended Read Amanda!

I LOVE REVIEWS LIKE THIS!

Every so often I get a review that makes glad I'm an author. Here is such a review. Love And Seduction In Las Vegas

Bobbie, Gary, and Vinnie could all be
considered heroes in this twisted tale.
All of them certainly
play major roles
in Loretta’s life.
Loretta is a beautiful woman who puts
a new meaning to the phrase, ridden
hard and put
away wet.
This is an intriguing winding tale of one woman, her challenged life, and the
men who affected it in such a stupendous way.

You know it’s kind of funny with your books Dee, they appear so light hearted
on the outside, but inside they hit some really significant issues. This book was
extremely complex, but you pulled off a lovely story through a myriad of
complexity. I was impressed! In some ways this story was all sex, yet in other
ways it was complete desolation.

I totally enjoyed the happy ever after, which is one of those things that
make me tick, but the twists and turns it took to get there were phenomenal.
Very creative and very intriguing, I completely enjoyed it.

Comments from previous reviews:

"I am always amazed every time I read a book by Dee Dawning. Just when you
think the next one cant get any better, he pens a read that out tops the last.

Love and Seduction in Las Vegas
is more than just frolicking between the sheets.
It is a story of understanding, love, and learning to accept the other, no matter
what their past. This read really leaves an impression."

LOVE AND SEDUCTION IN LAS VEGAS proved to be a
surprisingly complex story with a fairly tight plot and
some decent character development wrapped around
a highly erotic story line. Probably not for the sensitive-
the plot deals with certain taboo issues-nonetheless
readers will find the novel steamy, scintillating, and
quite realistic.
