5 Star Review for Buckskins and Brocade from JERR

I just received the Just Erotic Romance Reviews newsletter (#150) and much to my delight Buckskins and Brocade has received 5 Stars!

Reviewer: Stefani Clayton
Rating: 5 Stars
Heat level: O

Growing up in a household with two fathers, a very strong willed mother, an uncle only a few years older than herself and two siblings, Olivia Raines is ready to step out on her own. When she receives a letter from her uncle suggesting she take an assignment for the government, Olivia jumps on the nearest train, only to discover that the man who caught her peeking through his window is the same man who will be working this government assignment. Not only is he a walking temptation but he comes with his brother, his identical twin brother, and Olivia knows she has her hands full. All this before she learns that children are disappearing and the last agent turned up dead. Olivia has a lot on her plate with this first mission, but she is more than woman enough to handle it all. The question is whether the world is ready for Olivia Raines?

Buckskins and Brocade is the sequel to Kentucky Woman and is just as entertaining. I had the pleasure of reading the first story, and couldn’t wait to get into this book. Olivia Raines is her mother’s daughter. She is feisty, independent, and so unique I couldn’t help loving her character. Connor and Desmond are home-on-the-range sexy with just a hint of shadows to keep you drooling. The men fight like cats and dogs, which is just what I would expect from twins who spend all their time together. I just liked them, Connor with his seriousness, and Desmond’s constant laugh. There were numerous secondary characters throughout this story and they all played valuable roles in keeping it real. Sexually, these three start out hot and each scene turned up the heat until the final scene, which left me panting! This story didn’t bombard me with sexual scenes just for the sake of sex, and I honestly appreciate that. Buckskins and Brocade is a great read all the way around.

Thank you, Stefani and JERR!

5 Cherries for Buckskins and Brocade

Hi, everyone! I wanted to share my first review for Buckskins and Brocade with you. The book received 5 Cherries from Whipped Cream Reviews.

Buckskins And Brocade by Amber Carlton
Publisher: Siren-Bookstrand, Inc.
Genre: Historical
Length: Full (266 pgs)
Other: M/F, M/F/M, Ménage, Voyeurism
Rating: 5 Cherries
Review by Lilac

In this fantastic sequel to Kentucky Woman, a young woman discovers a passionate relationship with the twin bodyguards assigned to protect her.Having been raised in an unconventional, but protective family with two fathers and one mother, Olivia Raines is determined to prove herself and becomes a spy for the First Lady.
Assigned to investigate the disappearance of some boys from the Orphan Train by going undercover as a schoolmarm, Livvie is not prepared for what's to come. She is definitely not prepared for the handsome twins assigned to protect her, Connor and Desmond McBride, but she cannot deny her attraction to the men and soon she doesn't have to.
This was such a wonderful and absorbing story that I didn't want to put down. I especially loved the characters of the story. Livvie really surprised me as despite her confidence and background, there is a naivety and innocence about her. At times she displays a vulnerability which really is quite touching. However, she is a little spitfire and is constantly surprising the brothers with her honesty and daring. I found myself just as taken with Livvie's infectious personality and couldn't help by smile at the things she says and does.
As for the brothers, they made great heroes and were perfect for Livvie. Haunted by a horrific past, Connor and Des have their own reasons for getting involved with the mission to save the boys from the Orphan Train. Life definitely hasn't been easy for the brothers, but with Livvie both of them begin to feel a bit of peace and happiness. However, they didn't grow up in a family like Livvie's and feelings of jealousy crop up as they fear that Livvie could never love them both, something I could understand and which really added to the realness of the story and the relationship.
However, Livvie is just what the brothers needed and I really enjoyed watching their relationship progress. As for the missing orphans plot, I thought it was quite interesting and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next with the investigation. Each new character and revelation added to the story and kept my interest. I really enjoyed how things played out, however, I did feel that the ending was a bit too quick for my tastes. I would have loved to learn and to have seen a bit more regarding the bad guys at the end. I also would have enjoyed another glimpse at Cutter, Billy, and Jessie (Livvie's parents and the characters from Kentucky Woman).
Despite this, I loved this story a great deal. With fabulous characters and a fascinating plot, this is one I was glad to have read.

Buckskins and Brocade Releases Today!

I’m pleased to say that Buckskins and Brocade releases today! I hope you have as much fun reading it as I had writing it.

Buckskins and Brocade is a historical/western ménage and follows the adventure of Olivia Raines as she accepts her first assignment as an investigator for the government. For those who’ve read Kentucky Woman, you’ll recognize Livvie as the daughter of Jessie McGee, Cutter Raines and Billy Marlowe and see that Livvie is her mother’s daughter in more ways than one.

As she attempts to solve the disappearance of boys in the community of Fort Cloud, Kansas in the guise of the new schoolmarm, Livvie is aided by two agents. Familiar with the Kansas plains and posing as Livvie’s “husband”, Connor and Desmond McBride are everything a woman could want. The problem is they’re identical twins and Livvie knows immediately she can’t possibly choose between the handsome McBride brothers. For a woman like Livvie who lives life on her own terms, that poses no problem at all. She decides she’ll have them both.

Join Livvie, Connor and Desmond as they adjust to “married” life, track a ring of kidnappers and love and laugh in 1890 Kansas. Tracking down bad guys has never been this much fun and the Kansas prairie has never been this hot!

Fallon, Honora and Caitlyn are witches determined to cement the future of the Caindale family and they’ll do anything to accomplish it, including pushing their brother and themselves through time.

The story begins in Trinity Magic when Ryder Kendall, a contemporary man, is dropped into the past to fulfill his destiny and sire the next generation of Caindales. There he meets Arleigh Donovan, the Leanan sidhe he once loved in Ireland, and the rest is magic.

Trinity Secrets continues the story of the web the Trinity has woven and the love story they’re determined will endure.

Ashleigh Dwyer arrives on present-day Trinity Island and meets a man who claims to be her husband – from the 17th century. Ryder Kendall seems to be everything a woman could want, and there’s something so familiar and comforting about him that Ashleigh forgets he might be a little bit crazy. When she wakes up to discover he doesn’t remember her, she realizes he might have been crazier than she thought. The man insists his name is Robin, and the room, though familiar, isn’t quite right. When he tells her the year is 1718, Ashleigh realizes she’s been pulled into the past for a reason.

Robin Kendall is a man with secrets. For most of his life he’s led a double life. A prosperous farmer, the land isn’t enough to hold Robin. He’s been a pirate, a highwayman and a thief. And when Ryder Kendall sends Cameron Flynn, a fae creature with ties to the Kendall family, from the future Ashleigh must choose between the world she’s come to love and her own.

Surrounded by human and fae friends – a pirate queen, an earth faery, a delicate sprite, a seductive Ganconor and three small witches – Ashleigh and Robin will have to fight to secure their lives together. When the Trinity secrets are all revealed, it will take more Trinity magic to secure their futures.

New Review for Kentucky Woman

Kentucky Woman has received a 4 Cherries Review from Whipped Cream Reviews. Kentucky Woman is an erotic menage romance.

“In this Civil War-Era historical, three spirited individuals find love and healing with each other amid danger and betrayal. This was a highly erotic and fascinating story about three people each with their own secrets who learn to love and trust one another. Spies for Lincoln, Cutter Raines and Billy Marlow are intrigued by the young beauty, Jessie McGee, who offers her body in exchange for their assistance. Jessie is willing to do anything to protect her brother and locate her friends who have been abducted. Each of these characters has a secret that once revealed could either change everything or bring them even closer together. The author did a wonderful job of giving these characters each a distinct personality and motivation for pursuing this unconventional relationship. Behind Billy’s playful façade lurks a heartache and tragedy that truly touched me once revealed. And Cutter, the brooding member of this threesome, also has some secrets of his own that I never saw coming, but that have shaped him into who he is. These two longtime friends seem to need each other almost as much as Jessie needs them, but in a different way. There isn’t anything sexual between the two men, but Billy seems to have a calming affect on Cutter and helps him deal with his temper. Speaking of a temper, Jessie is a feisty character full of spunk and determination. She’s a little firecracker who needs and comes to care for the two men, yet at times it seemed her bond with Cutter was a bit stronger than hers with Billy. I couldn’t tell if this was intentional or if it was just me. I enjoyed each new revelation about these fascinating characters and there is definitely more to each of them than what meets the eye. Although at first I had my doubts about the threesome and whether or not I could buy their relationship considering their initial bargain, I really enjoyed watching as it developed and became believable. In addition to the fascinating relationship, there is also an intricate plot involving murder, betrayal, and the slave trade. Each new revelation added to the story and helped keep the story interesting. There were a few twists that I never saw coming, but that really enhanced the story. It was obvious that the author did some research into the time period and the area in which the story is set. I enjoyed the little historical names and facts interspersed throughout the story. They gave the story an authentic feel and helped to make the setting and time period believable. Overall, Kentucky Woman is a fascinating erotic historical that I found very entertaining.” -- Lilac at Whipped Cream Reviews

4 Star Review for Trinity Magic

Trinity Magic has received a 4 Star Review from ReviewYourBook.

4 Stars
Love that cannot be destroyed by time…The setting is Trinity Island, Virginia. Ryder and Arleigh were connected by the threads of time. They were destined to be together. He was willing to travel back through time to share her life. He just has to convince her that sex with him will not kill him. Amber Carlton cleverly weaves the story in and out of time. The connecting thread is the Caindale family. Trinity Magic is an interesting read. The characters are fascinating. Carlton make this entertaining with the use of faries and other mystical creatures. I enjoyed the way Carlton used history to add depth to this tale. Her description of life in the 1600s was like icing on the cake.

Trinity Magic Coming January 1

Trinity Magic will be published by Siren-Bookstrand on January 1, a great way to start a new year!
Hi, Everyone! Welcome to 1639 and the world of Trinity Magic, a story that blends the paranormal elements of witchcraft and faeries with the consequences of time travel.

For Arleigh Donovan, the year 1639 doesn't pose a problem, but being cursed bothers her a lot. Draped in a newly mortal form, Arleigh believes she still possesses the ability to kill men with love—a throwback to the time when she roamed through the centuries as a beautiful and powerful faery. The Leanan Sidhe spirit within her can rise at inopportune moments and steal the life of any man it chooses. She knows its effect because the death of the latest victim sent her to colonial Virginia as a convicted murderer. When Ryder Kendall magically appears in Caindale cottage on Trinity Island, the enticing but lunatic stranger is the last thing she needs because she has sworn to never love again. Ryder offers a temptation almost impossible to resist but succumbing to her desires might kill him.

For Ryder Kendall, the year 1639 poses an endless parade of problems. His "Weird Sisters" have sent him to 1639 to be a hero, find the woman of his dreams, and continue a dynasty. Arleigh Donovan is the woman he's been waiting for his entire life, but there's a slight problem. She's determined nothing will happen between them and she might be a little crazy. Dealing with a delusional woman and traveling through time are confusing enough, but to see his sisters over and over and over is mind-boggling. He begins to believe they might truly be what they claim—a Trinity of witches that has existed for 800 years. Contributing to his dilemma are the frustrating neutrality of a bantee, a flock of whimsical faeries, and banshees that shriek at the first drop of blood. But the biggest headache by far is his charismatic rival, Cameron Flynn, an immortal known as the Ganconor. Flynn hates the Caindale family with a 400 year old passion. He wants Ryder dead, wants Arleigh for himself, and has a plan to accomplish both.

Now all Ryder has to do is convince Arleigh he won't fall victim to a "curse", find a way to defeat an immortal, save his three "sisters", secure an inheritance and survive the everyday horrors of the 17th century. 1639 is a nightmare for Ryder, but for Arleigh it is a dream come true.

Being dropped into the past creates problems, but dying from sex shouldn't be one of them.

Trinity Magic will be released from Siren-Bookstrand Publishing on New Year’s Day but can be pre-ordered. Information can be found here:

5 Star Review for Kentucky Woman!

I'm happy to say I've received a 5 Star Review for Kentucky Woman from JERR!

Title: Kentucky Woman
Author: Amber Carlton
Reviewer: Stefani Clayton
Rating: 5 Stars
Heat level: O

A recent widow, Jessie McGee discovers her father has died, her twelve-year-old brother Martin is terrified, her childhood home is in shambles and everything her dad had requested upon his death was ignored thanks to his second wife, Ellie. Jessie doesn’t have time to grieve. Instead she loads her brother and what she can of his belongings and heads home to try and come up with a plan. Along the way, she gets a little more than she bargained for when she happens upon two bounty hunters Cutter Raines and Billy Marlow. Jessie mind whirls and a new plan takes shape, but it is dependant upon these men agreeing to her terms.

This is erotic romance taken to an all time high! During the Confederate war, the South was a battlefield for the passionate. This story manages to combine every element of the Confederate war into an exciting love story entwined in a web of lies, secrets, and happy ever after. I laughed, cried and celebrated every achievement with these characters. Jessie is a wonderful character. Strong, smart but vulnerable at times- she was very real and someone I would have been proud to call a friend. Cutter Raines and Billy Marlow will blow your mind! These two have such depth and so many layers to their characters that I found myself falling in love with them more and more throughout. Martin is twelve but I found him charming in his boyish ways. There were other characters, so many in fact I couldn’t begin to name them all, but they made this story come to life. The sexual dynamics started as a bargain and ended up becoming the sweetest reward. Hot, heavy and sometimes a little kinky but always remained secondary to the storyline. By far, one of the best reads of the year! Add Kentucky Woman to your Christmas list, you won’t be disappointed!

Kentucky Woman

Hi, Everyone! I’d like to invite you to check out my new book, Kentucky Woman, which will be the newest release in the Ménage Amour Collection from Siren Publishing.

The book takes place in, of course, Kentucky in 1862 during the Civil War. It’s an erotic historical ménage involving a relationship between a young widow and two bounty hunters.

Jessie McGee runs a way station for the Underground Railroad. When her life spins out of control and friends are abducted, she has to find a way to get them back. She strikes a bargain with two bounty hunters – her body in exchange for their skills. Giving her body is easier than giving her trust to two men who stand against everything she believes in. Of course not everything is what it appears to be and Jessie soon discovers Raines and Billy have more secrets than she does.

Raines and Billy have their left pasts behind and enmeshed themselves in a world of danger. They’re reluctant to be involved with someone like Jessie who barrels through life with a spirit and drive they can barely fathom. They soon discover that Jessie could possibly lure them back into the world of the living and that scares them more than the threat of the war and the dangers of their own job.

Come spend time in Jessie, Raines and Billy’s world. It’s filled with danger, sex, intrigue, adventure, sex, fun, sex, frolic, sex, laughter and sex. Along the way you’ll meet good guys and bad guys, friends and family. I guarantee you’ll have a good time.
