As children, we were all taught the importance of sharing, but when it comes to love, many are unwilling to compromise. Consider the dilemma of two men in love with the same woman, while that same woman loves both men equally and cannot choose. Pain and sadness are almost guaranteed for one man if she does decide to take one over the other. However, when a spirit of cooperation prevails, none of those involved need walk away hurt or unfulfilled—and the possibilities are endless.

Join us on a unique journey that will take you back into history, allow you to explore the present day, immerse you in the world of fantasy, and then send you forward in time to the distant future. Each story will lure you into a private world where nothing is taboo, no one is left sobbing in despair, and sensuously wicked pleasures abound.

Katrina couldn't figure out if she was happy her business was done or horribly sad. His scent had surrounded her, infected her. The need she felt for Adrian was terrifying. Her pussy throbbed in need as she pictured what he looked like under all that black clothing. Muscular chest. Firm biceps. Washboard abs. Just imagining his cock, hot and hard, made her close her eyes and take a deep breath so she wouldn't start panting. Where had good, old-fashioned Katrina gone?

She needed to get out of there before she lost her mind.

As she reached for the pile of signed papers, Adrian got to his feet and put his hand on the stack. Before Katrina could even touch the documents, he slid the paperwork farther down the table. Not a speck of dust rose in the process. She tried to turn to ask why he'd done that and found him right behind her. The question froze in her throat.

Strong hands settled on her hips and roughly pulled her back against him. The hard proof of his desire brushed her buttocks, telling her he wanted her, perhaps even as badly as she wanted him. She closed her eyes again, trying to regain a little sanity and self-control before she did something very, very stupid. Like sleep with a client. But she wanted Adrian naked. She wanted to squeeze those slim hips between her thighs. She wanted that gorgeous body pounding into hers while she scraped her fingernails down his strong back.

"You smell good," he whispered in her ear. "Like Chanel."

So perceptive of him to identify the one luxury she afforded herself. She would have returned the compliment if she could have spoken at all. Her teeth tugged on her bottom lip as she tried to find the strength to step away from him. Not an easy task when everything inside her screamed to get closer. For the first time in her life, she was thinking about abandoning all control, grabbing his hand, and dragging Adrian up to the closest bedroom. All the cool, calm control she'd always practiced around men had vanished like fog in the morning light.

Adrian never gave her the chance to flee. His arms snaked around her waist as he nibbled on her earlobe. The heat inside her exploded into a melee of wild fantasies. Adrian's cock in her mouth. Adrian's face buried between her thighs. Adrian bending her over that table and taking her right there. She didn't resist when his hand moved to cover her breast, wanting to see exactly where he planned to take this little party. Through her barely-there lace bra, she felt him pinch her nipple until it peaked. Another moan slipped from her lips, and his knowing chuckle followed.

"I can smell the heat in you, the passion, the desire," he whispered in her ear before his tongue traced the curving lines. For several heartbeats, his warm lips pressed against her throat. "I can feel it flowing through your blood. You want me. Inside you. Now."

Even if she was supposed to say something in response to that daring comment, Katrina couldn't utter a single word. Her body rose to his caress as she arched her back, pressing her ass harder against his swollen cock. Oh, how she wanted those pants off him! And she wanted them off him right now!

What in the hell was wrong with her? This man, though delicious and hypnotic, was still a client! A paralegal at a huge and powerful law firm didn't fuck a client—not if she wanted to continue being a paralegal at a huge and powerful law firm.

"Of course she fucks a client," Adrian said before his teeth scraped the sensitive skin of her neck, the sting of the action warring with the pleasure of the lick that followed.

Had she spoken aloud?

Katrina found herself suddenly turned in his arms, and before she could say anything, his mouth covered hers. Hard. Demanding. Consuming. God, she wanted him, wanted to feel him ramming into her until she tightened around him and screamed as her orgasm rushed over her.

His tongue stroked hers, stoking the fire running through her body. Sharp teeth brushed the sensitive surface of her bottom lip, and she pulled back, frightened, before she tasted a bit of blood.

Stepping back, her hand flew to her mouth, her fingertips touching her lips. "Did you just...bite me?"

Angelic Forecast ~ #143

“Freedom. Freedom is the essence of life itself, of each breath we take,” I say.

“Yes. But those on Earth, many of them, have lost that knowing.”

“All to true,” I murmur as we move through what appears to be a mirrored surface.

Alabaster jars nearly my height fill the chamber where we’re standing. Around me, are also furnishing made out of alabaster. Needless to say, I’ve never seen this type of magnificent sight before. Maybe, if I’d traveled to the Taj Mahal.

“What are inside the jars?” I ask, as I twirl slowly.

“Mostly wine, used for healing and for celebrations. This room is conducive to the final maturation. Unguents for healing and beauty are stored in the smaller jars. The round squat jars hold honey, mostly imported from Earth.”

“No honeybees,” I murmur, thinking about the terrible plight of pollinators on my beloved Earth. “I hope there are other worlds where honeybees are thriving.”

“We do have several large colonies here, who have adapted to Mars. However, the quality and characteristics of the honey is different. The pollinators, the honeybees will survive on the Mother planet, despite efforts to eliminate them, and the coming land changes.” His hand enfolds mine warmly, to comfort me I know.

“Well, that’s something.” Facing him I gaze into his spectacular leonine eyes for several moments, then ask. “Is the reverse going to occur? Humanity moving to Mars... that is, other than the covert settlements already here.”

He considers before answering me. “No, not as you’ve asked the question. There will come a time when many on Mars and Earth will interact as friends. Travel will be established, and, of course, there will be the commercial trading of products. Beyond what is occurring now.”

“Beyond?” I have to ask.

“There is already trade. Although, not with the Nazis, as they were once known. We trade with those of us who live on Earth. I see you are shocked.”

“Yes... sorta, but no. NASA’s secret space program is an offshoot of the Nazis... Operation Paperclip... still, to hear it spoken. Or, are these the Nazis who set up operations down in Antarctica?”

“Both. They joined forces long ago. There was a third group out of the country known as Argentina. Their forces have been limited to the moon, currently.”

“Tesla,” I say as his name pops into my mind.

“Yes, his knowledge and achievements are on Earth’s moon.”

I gasp.

ANGELIC FORECAST ~

For the following week, and month, turmoil will spin the planet. And, love will “steer the stars”, like the lyric from song, AQUARIUS, in the anti-establishment musical, HAIR.

The great divide is here between those individuals who walk the path of love, and those who prefer the chaos of war. This divide will gradually become a chasm. And, sides will be chosen.

Because of the confluence of dynamics, this is a tricky time, and a particularly tricky week. Put simply, the terrible and tragic meets the divine realm of love. The fierce pull of both forces, if not recognized, could cause a temporary feeling of craziness.

On a personal level, take a close look at the plans you have for your life. Given the rapid societal shifts occurring, it is wise to remain alert and adaptable. This week is an ideal time to update, or change your goals.

The color red is likely to be prominent this week, both good and bad. Take another look at your relationship with this color, and how it figures in your life, or how it does not.

Color, in general, rises anew in the human awareness. The various frequencies of color become a source of power and healing. This is true for dreaming, as well. Soon, those who form their own communities will begin to share dreams that are of benefit to them, and their overall well being.

Trendwise, the AWAKENING will become the trend of choice for many. Anything which illuminates the soul, and assists in bringing about real freedom, both spiritual and planetary freedom, will rise the like the phoenix and will shine before ALL who have eyes to see.

Of course, the soulless among us, will use all countermeasures to halt and coopt this trend. Beware.

Wednesday's Words for May 25, 2011

My heart goes out to the people of Joplin, Missouri, and to all the people who, over this very tumultuous spring, have endured hardship, displacement, and the loss of homes and loved ones.

How do we make sense of the senseless?

In my life when things have gone wrong, when there’ve been losses, or tragedies, after the shock has worn off, I try to step back and find some sort of value in the loss. It’s not easy, but it does help me to cope.

I put myself into the frame of mind that all things are transitory, and that taking something negative and doing something positive with it is the ultimate victory.

This year, there have been so many instances of floods, fires, tornadoes and earthquakes—so many occasions where nature has proven to us, time and again, that she’s a powerful bitch not to be messed with. When you sit back and think of the number and magnitude of the natural disasters hitting humanity just this year so far, it’s devastating.

No wonder so many people so easily believed the End of Days was near.

That sense isn’t unique to here and now. There have been other times in our history when people likely felt the future looked just as bleak. Consider what it must have been like to be alive in 1918. The Great War was finally ending, the bloodiest and most devastating war in the history of man to that point. And then, young, healthy adults became ill, and died, of the Spanish flu. Some would go to bed healthy, and never wake up. By the time this great pandemic was over in 1920, between 40 and 50 million people had died.

I’m sure there were many then who believed they were reaching the End of Days, too.
We, who bear witness to the destruction that our friends and neighbors are forced to endure can help. We can donate money, clothing, and food. We can ensure that our local, state, and federal governments and agencies do not drag their heels in setting things to rights.

We can take time to appreciate all that we have, and at the same time recognize how capricious fate can be. I’m certain that most of those families whose homes were destroyed Sunday evening spent the hours before following their usual routines, making plans for the week to come, and never once considered that in such a brief period of time, everything they had would be gone forever.

Total loss of the things we collect, the things that help us define our lives is bad enough, and hard enough to bear; but it’s really nothing when compared to the loss of people.

Sometimes you just can’t fully recover from the sudden, senseless death of a loved one, of a parent, or spouse, of a sibling or a child.

If you have friends and family who’ve suffered the brunt of Mother Nature’s fury this year, do not lose patience with them if they seem unresponsive to your efforts to assist and cheer them. Truly, there are no words to comfort those whose entire existence has been uprooted, whose family or friends have been torn so brutally from their lives.

Healing and recovery will take time, donations, and a constancy of care and love.

Love,
Morgan

Angelic Forecast ~ #142

“Much of the atmosphere was ripped away from my beloved Mars by the Destroyer. Although, by that time, most of the population had fled to other worlds, one of them being Earth.”

Questions form to the right of me. Questions form to the left of me. We gaze at each other, and suddenly all I can think about is what his mouth would feel like kissing mine.

“I’m having inappropriate thoughts about you,” I whisper. Geez, I say the silliest things sometimes.

The rushing sound of our breaths takes over. For long moments, we simply gaze at one another.

“Since it is too soon to ravish you beneath me,” he pauses, his eyes nearly dark as midnight, “let us explore more of the Great Lion Man.”

As if I’ve been hypnotized, I place my hand in his. He brings me toward him.

“I could not resist having you here. First.” Again our gazes become immersed. “You were always my greatest weakness. You were always my greatest strength, my Sh’raka.”

I shiver inside. Then, I simply shiver. I hear and feel the truth of his words. I don’t ask him to explain. I think I fear knowing more.

Still, I ask, “Why don’t I remember more?”

“It is called memories lost to darkness.” With lion like gentleness he positions me beside him. “In this time of Overcoming, it was necessary for some of us to be born into the darkness. To lose the memory, but not the knowing.”

“Yes, the knowing... I’ve always had the knowing. But, why would I choose to be born into the darkness?” The question slips out because it’s tearing at my soul. It has been for such a long time now.

And, because I’m weary. So very weary of living in this constricting, restricting darkness where nothing feels right. Not at all.

“You chose it for freedom,” he announces without hesitation.

Here I thought he would give me some mystical mumbo jumbo. Some wise mysticism that would, nonetheless, ring true. Yet, he hasn’t.

“Freedom. Freedom is the essence of life itself, of each breath we take,” I say.

“Yes. But those on Earth, many of them, have lost that knowing.”

“All to true,” I murmur as we move through what appears to be a mirrored surface.

ANGELIC FORECAST ~

For this week, the highs and lows will be alternately like leaping over tall buildings in a single bound, or diving into Dante’s inferno. This is because there is a great upliftment happening, and, at the same time, there is a terrible pull toward the dark side.

What is also occurring is that each one of us is discovering ourselves anew. We are, as humanity, so much more than we’ve been allowed to believe. As we enter ever more deeply into the Aquarian Age, who we truly are, surfaces in opposition to how we have perceived ourselves to be.

This will cause inner conflict for many. Out of this conflict there will be extreme behaviors that serve no one. However, there will also be brilliant leaps forward that will serve all of us on beloved Mother Earth.

Many who AWAKEN now will take on a subtle shine, a recognizable glow. There is no time like the present to begin people watching, if you don’t already do so. You will soon see the extra shine.

The following week is likely to be one of tough choices on a personal level, and within your family. It’s time to resolve the past in a manner that will benefit you, and those you love. There is a way, even if it means cutting the ties that bind.

Also, because of what will happen on the world stage, and around the globe this week, tough choices will need to be made by many of us. There will be major shifts in how the world at large operates, and we will need to take action.

During the next several weeks, a new alignment will rise. An old alignment of powers will fall. To disguise this enormous shift, subterfuge will be used, and lies will be told.

Also, contradiction will be the name of the game. Not only that, there will be a massive attempt by the corp elite to make humanity believe green is red, and red is green.

The intention is to cause everyone’s head to spin so fast with nonsensical ideas that a mass state of deception is achieved, and maintained. Your best defense is to step outside of yourself. Become the Observer. And, remain true to yourself.

On the economic front there will be a clash of ideologies. So it will appear. To protect yourself, and your livelihood, look for ways to do things differently. Also, look for ways to come together as an economically viable community.

During this time in history, those who are living in the real world, rather than inside a dreamworld, will be the eventual winners. To illustrate, if a tornado is headed your way, take action to save yourself, and others. Believing the tornado is not really coming toward you, or will surely pass you by, that is a dreamworld, and you won’t be the winner in the end.

Trendwise, all those with an affinity for animals will discover new opportunities to live their hearts. If you feel drawn to animals in any way, this is a sign. It’s time to change course. Animals, and pets of every kind, have a vital role in the future. One that far surpasses what has been.

New Release Excerpt! (R) Vigilant, a Paranormal/Sci-Fi Romantic Adventure (angels & demons)

Good weekend, adventure lovers!

I’m Michele Hart, and I have a steamy new release! Check out my sexy Paranormal/Sci-Fi Romance, Vigilant. Vigilant is a sequel of Luminous Nights, which finaled in the Golden Quill this year. I’m very excited about both books. Read the excerpts! Watch the book trailers! Catch the reviews!

Investigate Vigilant. Where do the mortals fit in the war between the angels and demons?

Vigilant
One surviving hijacker is charged with the murders of a hundred citizens.
One cop sees her innocence.

Alliance I-Marshal Weber hauls Yadira to her home planet and infiltrates the human-trafficking ring controlling her. But he finds himself unbearably attracted to his witness. A gift for detecting deception reveals she’s the next victim of a criminal industry.
Descending into shadowy worlds of slavery, Yadira endures a dark angel stalking her dreams and watches the quiet I-Marshal become dangerous in her defense. Everything about him moves her…except the memory of seeing him execute the most important man in her life. Shouldn’t she take vengeance? Delusions of a heavenly guardian affect her mind.
Slavers and demons plan to snatch her from Weber’s custody while he is uncovering connections, and Weber won’t hesitate to execute the guilty surrounding Yadira. Who but a son of fire can save her from fiends harboring hardcore fantasies of harming her?

Copyrighted Work.
[This excerpt is R-rated.]
Shower

The steam engulfed her, and water jets pounded her. The shower spray beat her body into bliss, reinvigorating her. Weber stood for the abuse, standing spread eagle and enjoying the rough massage. It felt very good, and he looked very good doing it. She wanted to put her hands all over him, but she’d never done such a thing before. She tried to make it feel normal and ordinary that she showered with a naked man. A big, handsome, strong, protective, brave man. It was a naughty thrill for her just to stand in the same room with him and look at him, clothed. The man moved her.
“Weber, what do you know of angels?”
“It’s angels again… I thought you didn’t believe in them. Have a few dreams changed your mind?”
She hadn’t told him of the second dream. They hadn’t had time between the daredevil escape from the Alliance’s clutches, the visit to the doctor’s lab, and the awesome view outside their hotel window. He revealed himself in incremental hints to see if she caught on.
“Maybe it wasn’t a dream,” she proposed, her eye on his default expression of stoicism. The water droplets raced down his hard body like shooting stars. “Maybe they were visitations. I thought I was asleep, but I wasn’t. Did I tell you the angel confessed to me he was a part of you?”
“No, you didn’t tell me that part. What color was your hair when he spoke to you?”
Her hand went to her hair beneath the pour of a showerhead massaging her scalp. She looked down to see her saturated black tresses covering her breasts and thin black drizzles of the hair color draining down her body with the water. “I didn’t notice. Why would that matter?”
He took the small distance separating them, and he put her into his arms, the sprays all around them. Naked and pressed against him shut her mind down to all but what he did to her.
“It seems to me if they were simple visitations, your hair would be black, as it is in this reality. If your hair were blond, as you truly are, how the Maker made you, then you may have been taken to a spiritual realm where corporeal bodies don’t exist and the barriers dividing souls is thinner. A place where only truth exists. Your black hair is a lie and couldn’t appear there.”
She smiled in surprise of his answer, had expected a denial. “You hold revelation of the spiritual world, Marshal. Does that mean you have the soul of an angel?”
Parting the pour of water from his face, his hair drenched and slicked-back, he smiled in reply, as if he’d bested her. “No, it means I can use the terminology to make you think I do know much on the subject.”
She frowned at him and wished she could tell when he lied.
After all the stress of the hard day had been beaten from them, Weber adjusted the pressure of the jets as she soaped up a bath scrubber in her hands. When she attempted to bathe herself, he snatched the scrubber away.
“You can’t have that,” he told her, like an order given her by his badge. “You can’t bathe yourself. You must wait for me.”
With the heavenly subject of conversation past them, her shyness rushed back to disable her. She pulled all her dark hair around her to hide behind. She saw the moment he picked up on it, and she shouldn’t have thought he wouldn’t notice. It was his job to read clues. And she was too inexperienced to fake having been in this position before.
He took her hand and guided her to the wall away from the main assault of the water, and he gently put her back to the tiles. Taking the soap into his hands, he stood very close to her, and he teased her into a kiss. His naked closeness stirred her, his alpha-male nearness subliminally dominated, and she was surprised how every step he took toward her sizzled her into a surrender that shot tension and thrill through her.
His sensuous mouth. She recalled noticing the bow of the angel Dokiel’s lips before he kissed her. They were very similar to Weber’s own.
When she was mesmerized by his lips, he put the soap in her hand, then took it to his chest. Then he trapped her small hand under his, and they slowly soaped his big arms and shoulders, his sinewy chest and river-rapids abs. She watched his hand, the only other part of Dokiel she’d seen, scribbled with tattoos of angelic script. Weber’s hands were very similar. The angel’s and the cop’s hands were big-palmed, long-fingered, hot to the touch. The contact drew the air from the room for her, and she felt a mixture of want, excitement, and uncontrolled arousal she’d never felt before. But she’d never touched a man like this.
He gave her his sinewy back while he shampooed his hair, and she sudsed him down, driving away the shyness. Her hands all over his body, his broad, hard back, his narrow waist, his round ass. He was an extra-fine specimen of man. Her thighs were on fire just from touching him.
There was no way her chastity would last the night. She wanted to pack it in a shiny wrapped box with a big bow and hand it to him. It would soon be his.
Her soapy hands reached his hips, and he guided her hand around to his manhood. She took a big, anxious breath for the experience. Together they sudsed his thick, stiff shaft, gently bathing him. He was so hard and bigger than she expected. She knew for sure he would hurt her. Touching him just made her hungrier.
He groaned. “If you keep doing that, we’ll never leave this shower.”

Blurb

A slave of his sister Eva’s whims, Alexei is shocked when, in the process of getting her a gift, he meets four men who sweep him of his feet. Zimah, Visnah, Lyetah and Ohsyn are unlike anyone Alexei has ever met. They control the power of the seasons, and they agree to help Alexei. Their affection and generosity soon morph into passion and love, and Alexei allows himself to surrender to desires he had kept hidden for many years.

But when Eva’s unreasonable requests continue, Alexei refuses to take advantage of his men’s magic once again. His decision sets him, his sister and his lovers on a course of events that leads secrets of the past to be revealed. The hidden fire inside Alexei is about to burst out, and the love of the four seasons may not be able to extinguish it.

"But, Mama, where am I to find violets in January?” Alexei asked.

“Go to the forest,” she suggested. “I hear there’s a grove at the very edge. Folk say flowers grow sometimes, in spite of the cold.”

Alexei gaped at her. How could she ask him to brave the icy winter through a peril-filled forest, all for a whim of his sister’s? Did she not love him at all?

Disheartened, Alexei nodded and obeyed. What else could he do? When his mother decided something, no one but Igor could make her change her mind, and even Igor had a difficult time.

He set out one more time, this time riding in the opposite direction. He knew his way there well, as he often went to the forest to gather firewood or fruit. Of course, this was the first time he’d actually come here during winter.

At last, the forest loomed ahead. Alexei idly noted it looked very different than he remembered it. A few months back, its lush and verdant vegetation welcomed Alexei. Now, the leaves had all fallen, and just snow covered the trees.

Still, the woods provided a welcome change to the extent that the winds no longer beat Alexei so heavily. Acknowledging the treacherous path, he rode slower. He had no idea where he needed to go. Even if he knew these woods well, he’d never heard of the grove Elga mentioned. Other than the vague indications his mother had given him, he just followed his instinct and hoped for the best.

Onward he went for the longest time. Finally, just as he started to consider returning home, he saw something ahead. A grove, just like his mother had said. Four tall standing stones rose in the center, the only change in the sea of white. Alexei could see no flowers, no violets, nothing. His tiredness turned into sheer hopelessness, and a heavy chill started to take over his limbs.

His eyes began to close, and Alexei struggled against the weariness. Unavoidably, he lost the battle, and his grip on the horse’s reins. He slipped off the animal, and expected falling into the snow, perhaps to his death. Instead, he fell into someone’s arms. “Easy there, young man,” a male voice said. “Be careful.”

Alexei’s vision swam for a few seconds, but as the dizziness faded, the sight that met his eyes shocked him beyond belief. The man holding him had hair as white as the pure snow and icy blue eyes, just like Eva. The resemblances stopped there, as Alexei felt a very strong and warm male body against him. The chill ran off as if it had never been, replaced by pure heat.

“What are you doing here?” another voice said. Alexei looked over his rescuer’s shoulder and caught sight of a second man. Alexei couldn’t be certain, but he thought his eyes and hair were green as grass. Who in the world had green hair? The second man lay reclining against one of the stones, his gaze filled with a peculiar warmth.

To Alexei’s surprise, he realized two other men waited in similar positions. The third one gave Alexei an amused look, his bright blond hair and amber eyes seeming to shine in the wane light. “I’m guessing his sister is being troublesome again. Isn’t that right, Alexei?”

At last, Alexei found his voice. “How do you know my name? And how do you know about Eva?”

The fourth man chuckled, brushing his red hair of his face. His penetrating brown gaze analyzed Alexei with interest. “We know many things.”

Freaked out, Alexei began to struggle in his captor’s hold. The white-haired man released him, and Alexei immediately felt the loss. He struggled not to let it show and found refuge next to his horse. “Who are you people? What do you want?”

“I believe we asked you that first,” the white-haired man said. “But since we do have the advantage of knowing your identity, we’ll introduce ourselves. I’m Zimah.”

The second man got up and bowed courteously. “Visnah.”

The blond also shot to his feet and began to head toward Alexei. “Lyetah.”

“And I am Ohsyn,” the last man said, also making his way to Alexei. “Now, can you answer the question?”

Alexei realized he was being very rude. After all, these men most likely saved him from death. Clearly, they weren’t common people. He didn’t know if they were pulling his leg with those names, since he’d never known anyone called “spring,” “summer,” “autumn,” and “winter.” But at this point, anything was possible. And Alexei found he felt safe here, in this grove, just talking with these strange men.

“Eva wanted violets,” he replied. “I couldn’t find any at the market, so my mother sent me out here. She said there’s a place where flowers grow in spite of it being winter.”

Zimah hummed, sounding thoughtful. “Time is this way for a reason,” he answered. “Can’t she wait?”

“Apparently not,” Alexei replied.

Visnah smiled at him. “Well, we can provide the violets easily enough.”

“But on one condition,” Zimah added.

“What condition?” Alexei inquired, almost afraid to ask.

“Nothing much,” Zimah replied. “We just require a kiss, one for Visnah and one for me.”

Wednesday's Words for May 18, 2011

For those of you who have been faithful readers of mine since the beginning, you know that every once in a while I write an essay that gets me in a lot of hot water.

Today’s edition of Wednesday’s Words may be just such an occasion. I suppose I ought to preface this entire thing by saying, therefore, that the following is my own opinion which I am simply sharing with you for the purposes of discussion.

Apparently, there are a lot of people who believe that the day of Rapture has been revealed, and that day is May 21, 2011. If those who profess it are right, the world is going to face Judgement in just 3 days. Are you worried about this, or frightened by it?

I am not one to mock the faith of others. I truly believe that people ought to follow their hearts; God did, after all, give us free will. That means we are free to believe what we wish to believe, and do what we wish to do.

I don’t make it a habit to proselytize. Those of you who do read my essays on a regular basis doubtless know I am a Christian. I tend to live my faith quietly, saying my prayers in a closet, if you will, mainly because I read that in a Book.

This wonderful medium we use to communicate and learn and share can be used for great good, but it can also be used by anyone wishing to say anything at all. Again, there’s nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. People ought to be able to express any opinion they choose to express, as long as they’re not breaking any laws. I have a personal line in the sand that tells me I will not slander anyone, nor threaten them, and that is a standard I believe is prudent.

Most of you who are reading this today are citizens of the United States of America, and you have your wonderful Constitutional right to free speech. I’m Canadian, and we don’t have exactly the same rights under law—but I still believe all should feel free to say what they will.

In the course of my life, I’ve witnessed—thanks to the ever growing, all-encompassing forms of mass communications—many who believe themselves to be modern-day prophets. Again, I’m not one to mock anyone’s faith. I try very hard not to judge others (I read that in a Book, too), for I firmly believe that in the end, it’s all between the individual and God.

One of things I’ve prayed for most often in my life is the blessing of discernment.

Yes, I feel something in my heart, but how do I know it is real? I hear someone who has an opinion with regard to the Lord, or matters of faith, and the speaker is charismatic, and what he’s saying sounds good, but again, how do I know it is real?

The gift of discernment would seem to be one not given in abundance, but then I would submit the reason for that is it isn’t asked for in abundance. I believe if you ask for something faithfully you get it (yep, read that, too, in the same Book).

Life is hard enough and scary enough without those who have chosen to be our leaders, those who should be of sober mind and faithful conscience instilling more fear in the hearts of the people who look to them for guidance.

The answer I received when I prayed for discernment with regard to matters spiritual was so simple, I should have realized it on my own. I just ask myself, “is it Scriptural”?

You see, I believe the Lord doesn’t make things complicated for us. He knows our limitations. We don’t have to jump through hoops and send x number of e-mails to prove ourselves to Him. We don’t have to engage in complicated calculations, translating from ancient texts to try and extrapolate dates and times, and seasons, to find the truth, or to be faithful.

All we have to do is answer that one question: is it Scriptural? And with regard to the belief that the world will end on May 21st, according to Matthew 25:13, the answer is no.
