Angelic Forecast ~ #74

“For they would be gods,” I repeat. “I’ve felt that forever, around me. In some form or fashion. It was never about learn and become wise. It was never about actually being a critical thinker, despite all the great and grand words encouraging that outcome as I grew up. It was about bowing down to false gods. It was always...”
I halt before my tirade takes over. Anger boils beneath the surface. “I feel like Mt Vesuvius about to blow.”
“Yes, so it is with many on Earth.” Gradually, the Heavenly One floats our cloud closer to a black obelisk, several stories tall.
“Rending and ripping... we’re all tearing apart at the seams, aren’t we?” I ask.
“The time has arrived. Grow into greatness or sink into enslavement.”
Ominously, the stark structure glistens. Yet, I see no obvious source of light.

~~~~~~
This week will be one that forces you into a different direction. The choice is simple. Do you travel the same old path, the one that still leads to nowhere? The one that will now bring about the very consequences you do not want in your life.
Or, will you choose anew? Will you choose to travel a path that most likely will be an extreme challenge, yet will bring forth the kind of life you truly desire?
Look into your soul. Look into the soul of others, especially those who are your loved ones. Choose the path that will best serve you and the ones you love.
Right now, the world stage offers false gods.
Still, love conquers all. Offer loving kindness to those you know deserve it the most. For that will guarantee the rise of Spirit, of the Divine within us all.
Wednesday's Words for January 27, 2010
I suppose it was inevitable, and it finally happened. I have finally been lured over to the dark side.
And I would lay the blame at the feet of my daughter, but I’m an adult, and I assume responsibility for my own actions.
It began just two weeks ago yesterday. There I was, minding my own business, fingers on the keyboard, butt in the chair, working fastidiously away at my current work-in-progress. I heard her car drive up. When she came in I said, “Well hello. How are you?”
She replied, “Just give me a sec. I have to get my dishes off the stove.”
Now, I knew my kitchen was spotless, nary a dish on the stove, let alone any of her dishes. I thought she would reach for the phone, call someone at her place. But no, she went right over to her father’s computer and logged on.
I asked her to repeat what she’d said, thinking perhaps, what with middle age being the way it is, I might not have heard her correctly.
But she said those words again.
Little did I know those words would pull me into a world of virtually feeding…virtual people.
There are numerous “applications” on that social networking behemoth, Face Book. You can own a farm, or a zoo. You can go to petville or fishville, indulge in mafia wars or vampire wars.
Or you can own your own café in café world.
There are at least 64 levels of achievement in this game that allow you to select dishes, “pay” coins to buy them, then cook them, then sell them for, of course, more coins than you paid to buy them.
It’s free, but there is a catch (isn’t there always a catch?). After you get playing, and get to see other people’s cafés, how big and nice they look, and become competitive—or some might say addicted—you discover that you can buy nicer furnishings for your café by using your credit card to acquire “café cash” (as opposed to the café coins you get for free).
Is that not an ingenious example of the American entrepreneurial spirit? And it’s not the only one I’ve seen.
Club Pogo, somehow connected to AOL, charges a membership too, the benefit of paid club membership over the free is access to “exclusive” games, and the opportunity to win “badges” and to spend even more real money to buy “gems” that allow you to buy clothes and pets and backgrounds for your “mini” (a graphic that represents you).
Hello? Can we just think about this for a moment? They charge you real money to allow you to buy things that don’t really exist.
If you think of it all as entertainment, and if you have a budget for same, and it fits in your budget, I guess it’s ok. I do belong to Club Pogo (Morgan hangs her head in shame), but I certainly will not be investing real cash into a make-believe café.
There are how many thousands of people playing World Of Warcraft (best known by its acronym, WOW)? It costs about twenty dollars a month to do so. I know a few people who play WOW, and I can tell you the game all but takes over every second of their spare time, and nearly every bit of their social life, too. I hear people talking and I realize their entire conversation revolves around that game, and they act as if it’s real.
What happened to real life, real people, real relationships?
In the mean time, I must confess despite my knowing better, I have indulged more than I should time-wise, in the virtual café business. Two weeks, and I have already achieved level 27. It’s pretty bad when you decide whether or not you can sleep late based on what’s cooking on your virtual stove (if you don’t get the food off in time, it rots and draws flies.).
Just do me a favor, please. If you ever see me traversing the realms of WOW…give me a smack upside the head.
Love,
Morgan
Angelic Forecast ~ #73
“Dreamland?” I ask.
“Their dreamland.” The Cherub hovers our cloud inside a tall angular shadow. “Those who alter the reality on Earth to suit their evil natures.”
My eyes widen and I wonder how large they’ve become. “Project Blue Beam.”
“Part of Project Blue Beam. Yes.” The Heavenly One eases our cloud downward.
“How? Does the holo technology come from here?”
“This is one source and center for the holo technology that is being used against the innocent. It is not the only source. What truly threatens the beloved of Earth is what we call the Screen of Fog...”
A terrible buzzing sound shakes my insides violently.
Relief occurs in a moment. I see a shimmer-sphere the Cherub has put in place. And, in that same moment, I remember a recent mystical experience.
“Tell me,” the Heavenly One encourages.
“I’m standing before my mind’s eye. And I feel blasted by Truth coming from every direction. I continue being bombarded by waves of truth. I feel that this is what is happening to all of us on Earth.”
“It is. We send the frequency of truth to Earth, with more intensity each day. Their dreamland sends the frequency of lies. For, they would be gods.”
~~~~~~

The following week will be unique, unlike anything you’ve experienced before. How this major change in our world’s vibrational frequency will play out in your life will be as individual as each snowflake. The best approach is go with the flow and simultaneously grab any good opportunity that passes your way. And, there will be good opportunities. Ones that will turn the tide of your life in a direction that makes life more worthwhile.
How this major shift in vibration will play out on the world stage ~ that! will be as dramatic as any blockbuster movie. Truth will clash with Lies in a battle that shakes the heavenly rafters. Take cover where necessary.
Remember, the love we share with each other is the greatest force in our universe.

Wednesday's Words for January 20, 2010

How do we, living here in our comfortable lives in North America, even wrap our heads around the extent of the devastation that has stricken Haiti in the last week?

We try to process the information in terms of ourselves; that is a normal human reaction. And we get stuck, because the way things have happened in that beleaguered country couldn’t happen here in quite the same way.

We take for granted our strict building codes, our interwoven social services that are provided by the different levels of our governments (local, state/provincial, and national). We know, because we’ve seen it, that for the most part when earthquakes or disasters strike in our part of the world, rescue and recovery efforts are massive, non-stop, and almost instantaneous. More than one week post-event, all who could be rescued would be, bodies would have been recovered, and only building debris would be left.

In the meantime, any persons made homeless would be temporarily housed in whatever large facility was available, and while there would be discomfort and restlessness, for the most part, people would be fed and their medical and other basic needs seen to.

In cases where relief hasn’t been immediate and organized—as happened with Hurricane Katrina—there’s such an outcry of outrage, that changes are made immediately. It’s not so much that we expect a high degree of efficiency as we demand it.

This past week, we at our television screens at images of the elderly languishing in the streets outside their demolished nursing homes, and we can’t quite get it. We see children, little more than babies, really, finally extricated from the rubble, and then watch them die, just when we thought they might live. We see rejoicing, and heartbreak, hourly.

We ask ourselves, because we can’t not, how is it that this is happening in the advanced year of 2010? How is it that an island within spitting distance of our nations can hold a country so ill-equipped to deal with the sometimes harsh realities of life?

The answers are as varied and complicated as are the minds who conjure them. Certainly, the lack of a well-structured, ethical society is one cause. If everyone is out for themselves, only interested in what they can stuff into their own pockets, then no one is seeing to the common good, and it only is logical that eventually things fall apart.

Another contributing factor, and a large one in my estimation, is the lack of education in that country—hell, on the entire island of Hispaniola. Free learning is another precious possession we often take for granted here. We don’t fully appreciate what a difference it makes in the quality of life for all the people when a certain level of education is mandatory, and a higher level is encouraged and rewarded.

One thing that is plain, and a source of encouragement is the trend I think began with the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean in 2004: the great willingness on the part of the human consciousness to help. I credit the Internet and social networking to a good degree; you can’t navigate anywhere on the Internet without seeing ways to donate to help with earthquake relief.

Of course, and sadly, human nature also has a negative side, and at this time there will be con artists ready and willing to help those of guilty conscience and who will then gladly pocket your well intended donations. If I may advise, keep your donations to agencies that have a history of selfless service, such as The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and Unicef.

2004 showed us that if each of us gave but a little bit, together we can have a massive impact to the good.

We can give money, and we can all pray. And as we watch the daily developments of miracles and tragedies, we can hope that in this great moment in history, we somehow move just a little bit closer to understanding that we are only as rich as the poorest of us.

Love,
Morgan

Angelic Forecast ~ #72

“A central player in the future? Earth’s moon?” I ask.
It’s not as though that’s hard to believe, exactly. But, what is believable in these times, these bizarre days filled with every kind of deception?
The Heavenly One nods, his attention focused on landing our cloud. I’ve never observed him quite so intent.
“I am not welcome here,” he explains.
“Oh.” Talk about a sharp buzzing inside of me, both curiosity and concern. “Why?”
“Truth is not to their liking. They would hide themselves and what they are about. We of the Angelic realms shine ourselves on the truth when it is time.”
“When it is time?”
“Wine ages. Timing is everything... those are truisms for the Divine as it manifests in the material realms.”
“Makes sense. Omygawd. It is true,” I murmur.
A crystalline landscape appears. Spectacular. There are enormous domes and spiraling towers.
“Dreamland,” the Cherub says.
I suck in my breath in absolute amazement.

~~~~~~
The following week, and two weeks, look for every manner of incredible communication. It will be raining down communications from heaven and firing communications at us all from the depths of hell. This will occur on a personal level, at a business/job/career level and, of course, from those who consider themselves to be on high ~ the officials, the authorities, the regulators.
There will be a flurry of new things you can’t do and things you now have to do.
It is for you to determine how you will live. Will it be beneath the rules of others? Or, will it be according to your own highest nature?
Will you choose the freedom to think for yourself? Or, will you allow others to think for you?
That is this week’s challenge to all of us.
Joshua Miller is trying to get over the death of his dear wife. As an investigator reporter he is finding it difficult to write stories. His friends are concerned about his welfare.
Sarah Reid never thought being struck by li
ghtning would change her life, enabling her to aid the sick and dying. After meeting a sympathetic journalist, her life takes on new meaning.
It has been a year since Josh lost his wife, and Ross, his good friend, needs his help. His sister, Cheryl has been taken advantage of by a faith healer and he wishes Josh to expose the woman as a fraud. Since Ross and Cheryl are good friends, Josh allows the journalist in him to come out. The moment he and Sarah meet, something cli
cks inside their hearts. At first Sarah refuses any interview feeling, tired of being exposed as a fraud, but moments with Josh prove him to be honest and caring. The more time spent together makes it difficult to find anyone to take Josh off her mind. With the fascination and love that he has found with Sarah, what will it do for them once the real story is told?
Faith of the Heart is an unforgettable poignant read. I love the way the story cements the two characters together. Both souls ache within their hearts as they reach out for the other. I enjoyed watching their relationship blossom as the concrete within their hearts slowly cracks and breaks away. I could relate to Josh in many
ways. The ending captivated me. Sandy James creates in-depth characters that engage the reader. It was hard letting go once the story was finished. She captured the expressions of the players tremendously and I must admit, Josh and Sarah’s first kiss was melting in this precious read.
The Return
by
Jan Bowles
Robert Tremayne went off to Iraq, two years ago. In the mean time, Marielle Stevens had to let Robert go when she was told he was captured and killed. Marielle didn’t plan it but she married Robert’s best friend, James. They have a daughter named Jemma. To everyone’s surprise and amazement, they learn that Robert is alive and coming home.
When Robert learns that Marielle and James are married, he wants nothing to do with either of them. Four years later, Marielle is a widow. James died of a brain tumor. Will Marielle and Robert be willing to give love a second chance?
"The Return is an amazing book by Jan Bowles. I picked this book because it sounded good but didn’t realize just how great it would turn out to be. The relationship that Robert and Marielle shared was both steamy and sweet. This book read how a true romance novel should be like…leaving me wanting more. I experienced every emotion with Robert and Marielle from…love, loss, betrayal, friendship, and happiness. I plan to return for more good reads with Jan Bowles."
Wednesday's Words for January 13, 2010
I suppose, if those who don’t live in North America have only flashes of our media such as are provided by various stars from Hollywood and the music industry, as well as the odd strange but true tale reported in mainstream news to go by, they could be excused for thinking we are a society of morons.
Let me tell you what has set me off.
Over the last week, for whatever reason—perhaps the moon has entered my fifth house of gullibility, or something—I have received about ten “letters” from so-called officials in various European and African nations telling me that I have 1) been left a sizeable inheritance ($ millions Euros) by a recently deceased relative whom I have never met or even heard of, and 2) won a lottery that I never even entered!
All I have to do is provide each and every one of these individual letter writers with an amount of money ranging from ten to thirty thousand dollars, and the big bucks will be mine!
How stupid do they think I am? Yes, I know, it’s not personal. And I know the odds must be on their side. Someone, somewhere must have been that stupid at least once, else why would these bottom-feeding scum suckers keep trying to hose ordinary people?
You would think that in this information age, if one is well-connected enough to lay one’s hands on a computer, one would be a little more in sync with the world in which they live. They would know there are scams like this all over the Internet, and that most of modern educated society laughs at these ridiculous attempts at fraud.
Hell, these so-called fund directors and lawyers, some of whom bear the title of “doctor” can’t even spell correctly!
“Dear one,” one letter opened, “it is with sadness I tell you of the passing of (here insert a name I couldn’t pronounce with a dictionary at hand) who has recently dyed, and we have discovered that you are the hair!”
Did I mention that these letters have all been sent to my Morgan Ashbury yahoo mail box? Does anyone reading this essay not know that “Morgan Ashbury” is my pen name? When I received my first acceptance from Siren-Bookstrand, I decided to have a pen name, as I eventually wanted to write other genres of fiction. So I compiled a list of names and passed it around to family and friends and asked them to vote, and thus, Morgan Ashbury was born.
Who could have known that I would accidently pick the name of a multi-national heiress(or should I say ‘hairess’) and the luckiest lottery non-player ever?
It is the stupidity of these attempts that galls me the most, not that anyone would try to hose a perfect stranger; there have been con-men and women afoot since Biblical times. The most dangerous ones are the sneakiest, craftiest, smartest who do succeed in gaining the confidence of innocents and then making off with their fortunes. Those predators we should all be on the alert for, all the time. But these clowns who write these phony letters? Where are they? Who are they? And who is the most complicit in this brazen stupidity, them, or the non-thinking idiots who gave them access to computers and the Internet in the first place?
Meanwhile, I just shake my head with wonder when I get a follow-up email from one of these bozos, and inevitably, I do: “Dear One, why have we not herd from you?”
Why not, indeed. Probably because I’m not a member of the herd. I’m just a loner at heart.
Love,
Morgan
Angelic Forecast ~ #71
With an eeriness that grips me down to the bone, we pass through a dense silvery fog. It seems as if I pass through ages of time.
“You are,” the Heavenly One says. “This place operates like a transitional time portal.”
“What time are we entering?” I ask. We’ve entered a place that looks as if the milky way now surrounds us up close and personal.
“It’s a small jump into the future.”
“2012?” I immediately leap to that thought.
“No. Beyond.”
“Is that the moon?” Glimmering in shades of gray, the pot-marked orb gradually becomes larger, the closer we sail. We are still comfortably ensconced on the Cherub’s cloud and I hug my knees in anticipation.
“Yes. We know her as Earth’s little sister.”
My curiosity rages. Why the moon? In this future time?
“The moon becomes a central player in the near future,” the Heavenly One answers my silent thoughts.
~~~~~~

For the forthcoming week, two weeks, in fact, communication becomes the central focus in new and grand ways. And, at times, in frustrating ways. It may seem that everyone is on a phone yak-yak-yakking about everything and anything. Or on the ‘world wide web’ essentially expressing every emotion they own and letting their soul loose.
They are. Truth is pouring out of humanity. Truth is pouring toward humanity. It’s a two-way dialogue humanity is having with itself about the past, the present and the future. This conversation will show up on a personal level, mostly.
On the world stage, those who seek to control humanity will continue their campaign of endless fear. While there is much to be concerned about in our precious world, let your own inner answers guide you.

Wednesday's Words for January 6, 2010

I’d like to think that each New Year’s Day brings us a fresh delivery of hope and optimism.

I’d especially like to think this is so at the dawn of a new decade. If you want it to be, each New Year can be a fresh beginning for you. Oh yes, we all make and then break some or all of our New Year’s resolutions. We’ve all got miles on us and sometimes we feel as if nothing is ever going to get better. But we don’t have allow that mindset to remain our reality.

Our challenges won’t dissipate suddenly if we take a fresh breath, and decide that this is, indeed, a fresh start and a new beginning. They won’t magically disappear but they will lose some of their power over us. If we will it to be so, then our fresh beginning now at the dawn of this new decade will infuse us with energy, optimism, and hope.

I’ve made myself a set of goals for this coming year; I’ve also taken a few moments to envision where I want to be in five years, and in ten. I may not achieve all I dream of achieving for myself. But at least, in the interim, I will be someone going somewhere.

I don’t waste time thinking how I might change other people. I have no power to change anyone but myself and often, I have found, that desire to change others is misdirected. It is ourselves we need to take in hand.

Some of my goals are material. I freely admit that, because I don’t believe there is anything wrong with a little bit of ambition. I try my best never to begrudge anyone their advancements, good fortune, or success. I want to succeed and improve my station in life, but I want that for everyone.

I have learned the hard way that focusing on the negatives in life—the losses, and the pain—brings nothing good. Instead, I determined years ago, that all the negative or bad things that had ever happened to me, occurred for a higher reason. That even the most devastating tragedy could have a purpose that was to the good. When one is beset by the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, to paraphrase The Bard, there is a time for acknowledging the wound. After all, you have to stop the bleeding before you can begin to heal.

But then heal you must, and not only to survive, but to thrive. I believe that we are all here to support each other, in whatever way we can. We’ve all been given gifts, and one of the keys to happiness, I believe, is to recognize this fact, and then discover our own gifts and use them the best way we know how for the benefit of as many people as possible.

You see, when you take your pain and losses and hard times and then use them to help others, be it by word or deed, then you have won against those outrageous slings and arrows.

Winning is the entire point. To triumph in life, to make the days you spend on this earth count for something, there is no better thing you can do than to give back by helping others. We don’t all “give back” in the same way, because our gifts and our talents are individual. And isn’t that wonderful? That means that the contributions we make are as varied and diverse as we all are.

I wish you all a Happy New Year, and I wish you, not challenges to meet your individual strengths, but strength to meet your individual challenges.

Love,
Morgan

Another Great Review for Bookstrand's Angel and the LawMan

Angel and the Lawman by Barbara W. Starmer

Angel and the Lawman by Barbara W. Starmer
Publisher: Siren-Bookstrand
Genre: Historical/Western Cowboys

Review Copy Received from Publisher

Summary: Young Alexandra O'Shay travels from Ireland to America, venturing into the wild west. A chance encounter with a mysterious man in black casts doubt over her decision to come to America, but a train robbery brings them together in ways neither expected.

With a reputation for honesty and a fast gun, Marshal James Black takes on a new challenge and a new attitude toward women. Alexandra is not only beautiful, but a survivor, and that intrigues him more than he likes. Relationships have proven fatal in the past. Will this be any different?

Jordan’s Review: I loved Angel and the Lawman. One of my favorite authors is Linda Lael Miller and this book reminded me of her westerns. That’s as big a compliment as I can give. The characters are fresh and utterly enchanting; the hero suitably macho and mysterious. The story plays out well and with a wonderful plethora of detail that I find totally absorbing. The ending is superb and totally fits in with the story. I had a couple of moments where I wondered if there really would be a happy ending or if I was going to be disappointed. The West comes alive and I got a real feeling for how it must have been to live in the lawless territory of Oklahoma City. How anyone could resist the pull of this story and not want to finish it all in one sitting, I have no idea. I certainly couldn’t. It made for a great afternoon’s read.

Barbara Starmer has a winner in Angel and the Lawman. I’m going to be checking out any other offerings by her to see what other great treasures are available and I will certainly be looking for more by Ms. Starmer in the future.

Rated 5 Delightful Divas and a Recommended Read by Jordan!

Angelic Forecast ~ #70

“Blue moon...” the Heavenly One croons as we sail through a serene sky, the color of silver gray pearls. “Blue moon, you saw me standin' alone... Without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own... Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for... You heard me sayin' a prayer for... Someone I really could care for...”
“You’re no Frank Sinatra,” I say. “Still, I love that song and sung angelically... well, I’m not complaining.”
We grin at each other, the Cherub and I.
Lowering himself beside me on our cloud, he says, “It’s the Year of the Blue Moon.”
“Let me guess. Rare and powerful happenings will occur. Once in a blue moon sorts of things.”
He nods, his eyes sparkling with that deep dark purple color I adore.
“Bright blue moon sorts of things. Some of them celestial and out of this world. Some of them coming out of the blue, a challenge for humanity on Earth.”
I sigh. “Lots of tough days ahead, right?”
“Yes, lots of tough days. Also, lots of amazingly bright days, heavenly ‘blue sky’ days.”

~~~~~~
For the following week look for communication snafus, but also look for those ‘communications’ that will change your personal world for the better. Yes, those opportunities are arriving, as they will keep arriving for the whole month of January.
This could also be the time to switch jobs, or look for a different career path. If you have skills that would support a village community... for example, making and repairing shoes or brewing beer... or weaving cloth... now, is the time to continue using and improving those skills.
Now is also the time to learn that type of skill... sewing, candle making, or any craft that is typically at a Renaissance Festival... whichever one you feel most drawn to. Now is the time.
On the world stage, all hell is breaking loose. Look for it to escalate. And take cover.
