Flashes of knife light as it's called, pulse from the twenty death spheres. These light daggers penetrate nearly every type of material causing Swiss cheese like holes to form.
In the following seconds, Dhuroth's wedge of ten fighters switch to invisibility, a new defense system. On my monitoring screen I only see their outlines.
Moments before the knife light strikes, my lion man and his squad dive below the volley attack. At blink-of-the-eye speed, the fighters are behind the spheres, and firing.
Bam, bam, bam! Prism lasers streak through the blackness of space decimating the spheres. Before utter demolishment, the dark spheres flee, scattering like cockroaches. I smile.
But not for long. Larger than planet Earth, the Control Death Sphere approaches. Blasts of light pepper the surrounding inkiness.
No target has been attained, this is pure menace -- a display of overwhelming fire power. Dhuroth and his squad remain out of range while positioning themselves around the monstrous battle ship.
My heart leaps into my mouth. No doubt where the enemy is heading -- straight for the moon base where I am.
