Love at First Sight: Caught on Camera Available Now

Caught on Camera (MF)

Caught On Camera

Published by Siren-Bookstrand

Love at First Sight, Book One—A series of LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT romances, all of which stand alone

Blurb
Bailey Chapman isn’t looking for love but when Nick Palmani shows up at a bonfire and starts pursuing her, she notices. Soon, the two are grinding out their passionate fantasies. Unbeknownst to the couple, the entire episode is caught on camera.

Nick Palmani knows Bailey possesses that special spark, but when he discovers Bailey’s father owns the farm where he’ll soon work, things are complicated. After a night of passion is caught on camera and the entire groping session goes viral, he isn’t too certain of his job security. He’s more concerned about Bailey and how her life will soon spin out of control.

Fearing Bailey will do whatever necessary to pacify her family and avoid unattractive labels, Nick whisks her away to an undisclosed location. Soon, secrets are revealed in front of an interested public and Bailey and Nick must decide if they can move forward together or find a way to leave their explosive past behind.

Excerpt:

“Your father seems like a nice fella,” Nick said, never cracking a smile.
“Oh yeah? Wait until you meet my mother. She’s a real gem.”
“And you think I’ll meet her sometime in the next few minutes?”
“Got somewhere you need to be?”
“You might say that.” Nick massaged the back of his neck, acting positively amused.
“You think this is funny?”
“No, Bailey. I don’t. I didn’t drive five hundred miles for the career start I’ve been dreaming of only to have the farmer’s daughter screw me over by luring me to her bed.”
“I don’t want to hear about it,” she said flippantly. “I knew you were a player. If somebody jumped your bones after you and I were through, that’s between the two of you. I don’t want to know anything about it.”
He stared at her blankly.
“And you apparently lost your way more than once if you landed here instead of wherever you’re supposed to be.” She sat on top of her dad’s desk, wishing he’d hurry up. Whatever he was saying to Stacy and her brother must’ve been along the lines of a good old-fashioned sermon. Before long the handkerchief would come out.
“Are you in denial?” Nick rose to his feet and stalked her. “I mean are you so involved in your little fantasies and daydreams that you can’t get a real grip on reality here?”
“I have a fine grip on reality. Thank you very much.” She glanced down at that thick bulge in his jeans and nearly came thinking about how he’d groaned at her ear when she’d wrapped her hand around him the night before. Moistening her lips she stared at his crotch and said, “I’m actually surprised you don’t remember.”
“Oh, I remember all right.” He released a guttural growl and studied her for a long time before he added, “You don’t know.”
“I don’t know what?”
“You don’t have the faintest idea what’s going on here.”
She crossed one leg over the other. “I’m a lot of things. Stupid I’m not. You obviously drove cross country for employment—probably somewhere like over at Melanie Shaffer’s place—and somehow pulled in our driveway by mistake. You’re the one who announced we’d had a thing, a fling. Now, my dad will probably call her dad to warn her that some…some older guy…is coming on to his daughter and Shaffer better lock his up.” She studied her fingernails and that’s when it hit her. “Oh my God. You weren’t talking about Melanie or the Shaffers. Were you?”

Paranormal with a Steamy Twist

Siren-Bookstrand published Steam Toys, a paranormal story with strong steampunk elements. If you’re in the market for a cute and sexy ménage novella, pick up your copy of Steam Toys.

Blurb:

An overdose of steam tosses a disgruntled ghost back into the present. A successful brothel owner in her former life, Heidi Labeidi materializes in front of Edward Brady, an eccentric mad scientist.

Edward and Heidi become acquainted. He takes her out in public and discovers a shocking truth. No one else can see her. After a public catastrophe, Edward’s partner, Barron Capwell, shows up on his doorstep making demands. Relieved to discover his partner can see his houseguest, Edward considers what to do with the outspoken dead madam.

Heidi has a few ideas. A ghost is pretty assertive after thirty sexless years have come and gone.

Eager to please Edward and Barron, Heidi offers her assistance, but it comes at a price. Once the men realize she’s the only thing standing between their future and potential demise, Barron and Edward succumb to Heidi’s advances and she fulfills their every desire.

Excerpt:

Las Vegas, 2010

Heidi Labeidi, the controversial proprietor of The Love Parlor, a popular gentleman’s club on the outskirts of Las Vegas, was reported missing yesterday morning at five o’clock.

Miss Labeidi’s bar manager, Stan Graves, returned from a two-week European holiday and discovered disgruntled staff members and inner company chaos. According to Graves, Miss Labeidi had been acting “somewhat peculiar” in recent months, spending less time at The Love Parlor and relying on her staff to make deposits and handle customer relations.

Graves became concerned after he discovered Miss Labeidi had not visited the gentleman’s club in over a week. Mr. Graves stopped by Miss Labeidi’s luxurious loft in Las Vegas, let himself in, collected over a week’s worth of mail, and discovered her cat near death.

According to Graves, Miss Labeidi has few enemies but has been noted for her outrageous spending habits. She’s a suspected drug user and frequents the casinos whenever she isn’t working. Graves said recent mysterious behavior concerned several of the women working for The Love Parlor. Employees contributed Miss Labeidi’s mood swings to menopause, stating Miss Labeidi’s change-of-life experiences were often intolerable.

Based on findings at Miss Labeidi’s home, police are treating this as a missing persons case and remain optimistic. Individuals with information about Miss Labeidi’s last known whereabouts are asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible.

* * * *

Heidi glared at the open newspaper spread across her antique dining room table. Oh what she’d give to choke Stan Graves with her bare hands!

Stan not only arranged her disappearance, but he’d taken over her club, her home, and even had the audacity to place Rocks, her beloved Persian cat, at the foot of her bed while he romanced one hopeful starlet after another. The poor thing must’ve been terribly traumatized!

To add insult to personal injury, “those girls” who’d reportedly mentioned her mood swings—which she’d never experienced—were now laid up in her king-size bed fucking the man she’d once loved.

Heidi plotted her revenge. Retribution tasted bitter until a woman dished up a hearty serving for the man most deserving of a provoked female’s retaliation. Heidi would carefully plan a counterblow, and when Stan least expected avengement, she’d propel some fundamental disgrace his way and watch the light dim in Stan’s smug face!

No one—not even Stan Graves—held the power to destroy what she’d worked years to build. If Stan needed a change of pace, he shouldn’t have gone to all this trouble. Heidi would’ve gladly knocked him back down to nothing where he belonged.

She narrowed her gaze on the article again. The boldness of those Las Vegas Tribune reporters! How could they do this and get by with it? To think the last thing anyone in Las Vegas would remember about her was that she was going through the change of life. Bah!

She’d let them see a new woman. Yes indeed, she’d show them what happened to those who messed with Heidi Labeidi. She’d prove her point all right, just as soon as she figured out how to let folks know she was still among the living.

That presented a slight problem. Technically, she was now considered a ghost, and death wasn’t exactly easy to overcome.

Destiny Blaine's Winning Virgin Devotion is Coming Soon to Siren Publishing

I’m thrilled to announce Winning Virgin Devotion is coming soon to Siren Publishing. For those of you who enjoy the Winning Virgin series, please watch my blog for updates at www.destinyblaine.blogspot.com. In the meantime, here’s a taste of what you can expect in Winning Virgin Devotion:

The following PG-13 clip is taken from an unedited version of Winning Virgin Devotion:

When they landed at Miami International, Irisa asked, “Where are we going?”

A good start, Richart mused, since she formed a complete sentence and expected some sort of interaction since she asked a question. She even took out her earphones when she made the inquiry, an indication she planned on listening for his reply.

“We’re headed to the Sabbat boat.”

“Oh, cool,” she said, flippantly. Then, she stuffed her plugs back in her ears.

Walking through the airport, Richart noticed what a ladies’ man his son truly was. He had that swagger down. Confidence was one thing. Cocky as all hell was another. Shit, he should’ve been Gabriel’s son.

When they reached the curb, Richart waved for a taxi. Irisa turned up her nose.

“Is there a problem?” Richart asked, opening the door.

“You can’t expect me to ride in one of these,” she snarled her nose, and this time, didn’t remove the earplugs. In fact, she turned the music up so loud he could even hear the lyrics.

Samuel slid across the bench seat and said, “So this is the way the mortals live!”

Irisa studied her fingernails. She didn’t budge from the sidewalk.

Richart tugged at the white cord attached to the earpieces. “Irisa, we’re only going about five miles. I need you to get in the car, please.”

“I’m not riding in that,” she said.

Richart knelt down and said, “Yes, you are.” He straightened his back and felt rather proud of the way he exerted his parental authority until she yanked his sleeve.

“Uh, no, I’m not.” Smugly, she stuffed the earplugs back in her small ears and hailed a limousine.

“She’s serious?” Richart asked, leaning down.

“Looks like it,” Little Samuel confirmed, retrieving his shades from the backpack and sliding them over his eyes. “How do I look? Normal? Human?” He flashed his pointed teeth and laughed.

The driver of the cab checked out his rearview mirror and grinned. “Nice teeth, kid. Where’d you get them?”

“Uh, Sammy, we’re going with your sister.”

“Sammy? Okay, that works. And no, I like this ride. Besides, Irisa always gets her way, damn it. Let’s move around town like the mortals.”

The driver turned around and said, “Aren’t you taking this vamp thing a little too far? That ain’t no way to talk to your pappy, kid.”

A hiss filled the car and Richart, recognizing his volatile son had too much testosterone to manage on his own, grabbed Little Samuel from the car. “We’re taking another car,” he informed the driver, shoving a crisp twenty dollar bill in his hand.

Richart quickly shuttled the children in another direction, thankful they could hitch a ride without too much commotion, no thanks to his daughter. Once inside the limousine, he said, “Let’s get one thing straight, kids. I’m in charge.”

Samuel’s teeth dropped and Richart glared straight ahead, opting to ignore the boy. After taking a minute to harness his temporary loss of control, he told the driver, “Take us to Haulover Beach.”

“You got it,” he sang.

Richart hit the button for the divider window and quickly made a decision. He concentrated on those damning fangs his son wanted to show off and decided to match him. When his sharp elongated teeth fell, he said, “Try that again and so help me, I’ll ground your ass.”

“Nice,” Irisa drawled with a lot of exaggeration. “Looks like we’re going to have a lot of fun with dear old Dad.”

Winning Virgin Lust Just Released Moments Ago!

It’s Time to Introduce Two More Sabbats!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Sebastian and Gabriel Sabbat are two handsome rogues who share similar physical features and yet, they are uniquely different. Read Winning Virgin Lust and you will soon discover there’s a power struggle within the pages.

At Paranormal Romance Book Discussion (PNR), the readers and authors are discussing ‘safe’ paranormal romance. It’s turned into a very interesting thread and I’ve discovered several new authors since this topic posted.

I’ve thought a lot about the vampires created for the Winning Virgin series. The Winning Virgin novels revolve around two vampire families—the Spensers and the Sabbats. The Spensers represented the ‘safe’ paranormal stories but the bad guys (the Sabbat men) will carry the Spensers and those who love them into a darker realm of existence.

There’s a power struggle in the Winning Virgin books. The books cross over the safe boundaries and yet still incorporate the dark elements too. The Winning Virgin series will please those who look for the “safe paranormal” but will also captivate those who want the darker paranormal novels as well.

Since the Winning Virgin series is considered a steamy paranormal/urban fantasy (with ménage romance in the second and third books), I’d love to know your thoughts. What do you look for in your vampire-paranormal romances? Do you enjoy paranormal books that can give you a good mix of dark paranormal with just enough light-hearted appeal to guarantee a happy ending, or do you prefer one over the other?

I hope you enjoy a little of both because the Sabbats will take you on quite a journey. It starts today in Winning Virgin Lust. Gabriel and Sebastian Sabbat are two vampires who know what they want. They both realize how to get it and how to use their strengths to gain Constance's approval, a woman destined to love them both.

Blurb:

It's the morning after a sexual romp and Constance Spenser wakes up with more than a headache. Since she doesn't seem to know who she is or where she belongs, Sebastian Sabbat buys into the old adage of finders keepers and that's just his first mistake.

The Sabbats and the Spensers aren't friends and when two of their own join for unconventional purposes, the families aren't exactly pleased. Add in a little brotherly love and a threesome guarantees Constance will soon be tied to more than one Sabbat. Gabriel Sabbat will join his brother and Constance in a very accepted vampire ceremony, but when Darian Sabbat realizes Constance has her hooks in Sebastian and Gabriel, he makes a quick decision.

Darian knows he can’t trust his brothers now that Constance wants their undivided attention. In a bold move, he takes the initiative to secure the future of his family and he has a little insurance to ensure the Spensers never get in his way.

Siren Publishing released Winning Virgin Love last Friday!

Siren Publishing released Winning Virgin Love last Friday!

Mondays and Fridays. Recently, I have so much to do on Mondays and Fridays that I’ve actually contemplated adding hours to each day.

I’m serious here. It can be done.

I’ve thought about combining Sunday with Monday and Thursday with Friday. Then, I could work straight through like there’s all the time in the world to accomplish what needs to be accomplished on these two days.

Ultimately, that’s the only excuse I have for missing out on the opportunity to tell you about the new release of Winning Virgin Love! It was a busy-busy day but that’s not a legitimate excuse. Blogging should, by all means, come first on release day!

We did chat a lot on Friday. There were two chats actually—one at Siren and one over at my loop. Some might even agree we never stopped chatting. My loop has been nonstop action since Friday which has been pretty neat because we’ve met a lot of new members over there too.

With all the chit-chat here lately, I shouldn’t be surprised that I woke up this morning and felt a shift in things. No, I’m not talking about a shift in weight where everything settled into my padded backside.

I’m talking about an ‘inner shift’—you know, change in mood. I ‘felt it’ in my bones, even though there's a lot to write, deadlines galore and a short time to get everything finished if I want to be ‘on-time’ (and who likes to be late or behind?). Anyway, this morning, I woke up drawing a blank.

My son came in my room early, just like he always does before he leaves for school and he said, “So, what are you going to do today?” This is the same question he will ask every morning and I generally give him the same answer—“Write. What are you going to do after school?”

Today, it was different.

He said, “So what are you going to do today?”

I said, “Hmmm…I don’t know.”

(And I realized my answer immediately tossed him a curve ball)

“What do you mean, you don’t know?” He asked with a frown.

I said, “I don’t know. For the first morning in a long time, I honestly don’t know. I can’t think of what I want to write because I can’t think of one thing I want to say today.”

He said, “Oh.”

(At this point he immediately jumped up and sprinted to the kitchen to find my husband)

And I hear him:

He said, “Dad, Mom is sick. I don’t know if it’s depression or the flu but she is sick.”

My husband said, “What’s wrong with her?”

(Not at all concerned, I might add)

He said, “I asked her what she was going to do today and she said, ‘she didn’t have anything to say’ today.”

My husband said, “Son, I’ve been married to your mother for 18 years. If she doesn’t have anything to say, she’s not only sick, she’s on her deathbed. Call 9-1-1.”

So, I’m motivated again. It didn't take much.

I’m going to start a new book today and write my husband into the plot. Unless he changes my mind before six o’clock tonight, I’ll have wild women chasing him through the prairie with tomahawks. Wait, he might like that. Never mind.

Actually, today I’m working on several different things and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. I just finished another edit on Winning Virgin Lust and it is coming soon to the new Ménage Amour Collection at Siren so that’s exciting. There’s news to note here too—I am T-totally in love with Gabriel Sabbat in Winning Virgin Lust.

For those of you who know me, Almonzo is ‘my hero’. He’s the sexy rogue in Winning Virgin Love and I pretty much tried to write him “perfectly flawless even with his flaws”. Now, I’m trying to do the same thing with Gabriel and I’ve decided to leave it alone—everyone will probably love him because he is simply bad-boy rotten. You’ll have to read Winning Virgin Lust to find out more.

Winning Virgin Love surprised me. It’s on the best seller list right now at Siren and ladies and gentleman, if you look at this best seller list, you’ll see why I’m not only honored to be on it but completely giddy. The list is packed with very talented Siren/BookStrand authors.

Today, vampires are going to the backburner though and the focus is going to be on athletes and cowboys. Yes, I’m back to that. After my husband’s little remark earlier, I’m going to churn out a hefty word count somewhere and then print out a few pages to leave at his dinner plate, along with that tomahawk. He’ll get the hint.

I’m really in the mood to write more about Gabriel. This alpha-male is hell-hot. When I first finished Winning Virgin Lust, I had to go ahead and write the first chapter of the next one because he more or less commanded it. Writers, you know what I’m talking about. Those imaginary friends of ours will often demand more of our attention than our teenagers.

I’ll resist the temptation to tell you more. I’ll wait to hear what you think about him in Winning Virgin Lust first (which is coming soon—did I tell you that?)

In the meantime, I really hope you’ll check out Winning Virgin Love. Tabitha (the heroine) is a little wishy-washy but everyone who reads her, really loves her spunk (even though her personality leaves her somewhat volatile). And then there’s Almonzo, love his heart, I wish this vampire would come to life in my world. Then, my husband would never have to worry about seeing me on my deathbed again—unless of course, Almonzo (or Gabriel) carried me there!

Oh, and by the way, I have a new promo pack full of excerpts from all of my books and novellas from Siren/BookStrand (RTF file) so if you’d like to receive it, check out my website and leave a comment at www.destinyblaine.com. Make sure to request it in your comment and include your email addy so I can send it to you! There are new excerpts for Winning Virgin Blood, Winning Virgin Love, A Matter Among Men, and Love, Lust and Scandal in Professional Football.

Also, while you’re there at the website, check out the link for the Australian Romance Readers Convention and check out the countdown to convention. I’m booked for the February convention and I was invited to sit on one of the author panels so that’s really neat.

I just found out I may ‘work’ on a casino-related article while I’m there too which means I may get to stay in Melbourne for a few extra days after the convention. If you’re a Melbourne resident, let me hear from you so you can tell me about the best book ‘dives’ in town.

Finally, I want to mention my recent purchases. Let’s see here, I just bought Lara Santiago’s Menagerie, Jenny Penn’s Patton’s Way, and Samantha Cruise’s Devil’s Pact. For those of you who don’t know, I have a HUGE file of TBR books and a very long TBB wish-list. This is what happens when you’re a Siren/BookStrand author!

I’m off to go write! There’s a lot of misbehaving left to do now that I’m rejuvenated. My husband truly knew exactly the right thing to say to get my creative juices flowing and he’s about to become my next hero!

Until next time,

Destiny
