"Yes, for now, my one woman," Dhuroth tenderly purrs close to my ear. "How about some dinner? I wish to take you to one of my favorite food gatherings on Mars."
I turn in his embrace, my smile meeting his powerful gaze. "With some of your tastes in food, should I trust you?" I banter.
"Only if you want to eat," he teases. "No Martian yak," he promises, as we dive our gazes into each other, and feast on each other's souls.

"Freedom," I murmur. "A breath of freedom. Finally."
I stand atop a ridge overlooking a Martian wildland, a prairie type of land where a herd of wild horses still roam. Most of them are an ancient breed once found in China, and are variant colors of Appaloosas.
Enjoying, I lower myself to the ground on what Dhuroth calls a comfort pad. The foals frisk and play while their mother's graze, keeping one eye on their babies.
On watch, the other mares and stallions surround them and take turns grazing on the whip-like grasses, and on the odd blue florescent blooms. They are smaller than many Earth breeds -- more the size of large ponies. However, these horses own a wiry elegance, a muscular strength, that is wonderful to behold.
And their eyes are not darkly colored, but a blazing green ... close to emeralds yet different, with a bluish cast. My lion man tells me the breed was originally imported from a nearby planetary system, several ages ago.
I smile.

On the positive side, attraction could grow because people suddenly see -- by the lunar-eclipse moonlight -- wonderful talents and abilities, and the true good character of another. Or, what they have been blind to before.
On the negative side, deep dark secrets could be revealed that will finally undermine a relationship. Take special care to know the full truth before ending any long-standing partnership.
