KARLY'S DRIFTER (RODEO COWBOYS) by SAGE BURNETT

Blurb: In spite of Hawk Rivers refusal to share in her book, Karly yearns to know the real man who guards a secret with his life. Hawk insists he's bad for her even while at the same time expressing his desire for her in no uncertain terms. Attracted to him beyond reason, Karly willingly tumbles into bed with him, knowing in her heart she will definitely get hurt. As Karly follows the rodeo circuit, snapping photos of the cowboys, her focus remains zeroed in on one particular mysterious, sexy cowboy--the cowboy who already has the power to break her heart.

Excerpt:

This time when Hawk Rivers wheeled around to face her, murder gleamed in his dark, fathomless eyes. Uh...oh. Maybe she'd gone a tad too far.

"I'm parked over there." She stood on tiptoes and pointed over his shoulder. "You must be, too. What a coincidence."

Before he could say anything, Karly breezed past him, flipping her shoulder length hair with one hand.

Sensing his masculine heat following her, she wrestled back the urge to spin around and go another round with him, since she wasn't sure who had won the first two.

When she reached her small motor home, she dug her keys out of her jeans pockets. Karly knew Hawk Rivers was still behind her because she felt his presence like a dozen people crowded together on a packed city bus. After she unlocked the door, she stepped inside.

Karly dumped the camera, two extra telephoto lenses, and the leather tote that carried extra film and equipment on the small kitchen table. "Care for something to drink?" She glanced over her shoulder at him. He stood outside, hands planted on his hips, the chaps emphasizing his groin. "Well?"

Lifting her shoulder with a casualness she didn't feel, she angled over to the small refrigerator and grabbed two bottles of water. Karly walked back to the door and held one bottle out to Hawk Rivers. When he snatched it from her hand, she figured he might crush the bottle inside his palm instead of drinking it. Fascinated, Karly watched as he twisted off the cap and guzzled down the twelve-ounce bottle in one long swallow. "Feel better?"

Hawk replaced the cap. "No pictures."

Rolling her eyes, she looked up at the ceiling. "Why the hell not? You're the epitome of a cowboy."

"I'll buy the film from you. What do you want for it?"

Karly was starting to believe Hawk Rivers could possibly be on the wrong side of the law, but if he was a fugitive from justice, he wouldn't be flaunting himself in front of three hundred people at a public event. "It's not for sale."

"Now if you'll excuse me." She started to shut the door, but his hand blocked it.

"I don't want my pictures in a damn book." Anger burned in his eyes, like the scorching late afternoon sun.

FIVE ROSES FOR UNDER TANNER'S THUMB by SAGE BURNETT

I loved this whimsical version of Tom Thumb. It captured my attention and sense of humor. I loved the fact that Tanner humors his nephew or at least he thinks so. A thoroughly enjoyable read and one that I highly recommend. Have something to cool you off nearby cause this one is hot. Ms. Burnett thanks for an enjoyable evening curled up with a book.

MY FAVORITE HEROES

Ah...Heroes.

What's a girl to do? So many to choose from. Too many to list. Our heroes tempt us with six-pack abs, drool worthy pecs, and deep masculine voices. They spill over with testosterone and alpha male attitudes. They charge into battle and burning buildings. Well...because that's what our heroes do.

Some heroes come in alternate forms, like the shape shifting hero, the vamp, and were. There's cowboys, cops, carpenters, Texas Rangers, barons, counts, superstars, firefighters.
Who do we love? I love bad boys, the tortured hero, the all American boy (or should I say man?). A smorgasbord of hot men laid out in front of us. (Smacks lips)

Here's a list of my favorite heroes in no particular order, both fictional and real.

J.T. Dillion from the Perfect Husband by Lisa Gardner. To me he's the quintessential tortured hero. And still one of my favorites. He's a lean, mean, fighting machine which is exactly why Tess, the heroine, seeks him out so he can teach her how to fight, to survive. J.T. has been deeply hurt, but Tess drags him out of his grief to train her for battle.

Scott Gandy the hero from The Gamble by LaVeryle Spencer. With his southern charm, he's a sweet talking gambler and rogue. Scott fancies his saloon hall dancing girls, that is until he meets Agatha Dowling. And Agatha is anything but...

Matt Damon Matt always reminded me of the boy next door, that is, until he made the Bourne movies when a whole different side of him emerged. He's not only super sexy, but cunning and crafty as well.

Big from Sex and the City. Now here, ladies, is the quintessential bad boy. He's handsome, rich, suave, and silver-tongued. Big reels Carrie in like a hungry trout. She can't so no to him, won't say no to him, even after she meets Aiden (a good guy). She's willing to jeopardize her relationship with Aiden to be with Big. That's the power of a bad boy.

Anderson Cooper Yes, I'm talking about 360 Anderson Cooper. He's smart, accomplished, funny, and he looks good not only in his spendy suits, but also blue jeans and a tee shirt.

Lucas Davenport If you're a fan of John Sandford's Prey Series you know who I'm talking about. He's tall, dark, and rich. But most important of all, he's a cop with confidence. And Lucas definitely knows how to seduce the ladies.

Kurt Russell One of my all time favorite actors. It doesn't matter what movie he stars in, I'm there. I mean, really there. (Sigh.)

Terrence Howard This man is drool worthy. He moves with the natural grace of a wild animal, but has this sexy smile. In the movie, The Brave One, he broke the rules, his own code of ethics to protect Jodi Foster. He even took a bullet for her.

Hawk Rivers The hero from Karly's Drifter, by yours truly. Okay, I had to throw one of my heroes into the mix. I love all of my heroes. After all, I created them. For me, there has always been something about Hawk. He's the epitomy of a tortured hero. He's lean and mean. Hawk has suffered and he survived. When he meets up with Karly Jackson, Hawk makes it very clear to her what he wants. Hawk has been hardened by life, but Karly won't and doesn't back down.

Fox Mulder My favorite FBI agent from The X Files. On a quest to ferret out the truth, the sexy agent doesn't take no for an answer. We all know, if necessary, he would take a bullet for Scully.

Who's yours?

SAGE BURNETT Intro

Love's Redemption was my first book published with Siren. It still holds a special place in my heart because it was my first erotic romance book. Jake and Lily...a touching love story about a widow and a hardened ex-cop who meet in a small Montana town.

All of my books are set in Montana...well...because that's where I live. Some call it the last best place, big sky country, but I simply call it home.

I write romantic contemporary and romantic suspense. That's because I'm a temporary kind of gal. Let's see, I'm really partial to cowboys. In Rodeo Cowboys, The Series, three sassy and sexy heroines find love and romance at the rodeo. And I can't forget the rugged and rough rodeo cowboys, Hawk Rivers, Steve McCall, and Rex West.

Under Tanner's Thumb is my first contemporary fairy tale which is included in the print collection, Once Upon a Time.

Tanner, the hero of the story is a cowboy, too. I can't keep my hands off those cowboys. And Camille, the heroine is just plain blown away when she meets Tanner. I had so much fun writing the story of Tanner and Camille.

I've been writing for most of my life and my dream came true when I had my first book published in 2006.

And I'm busy working on my next story. Because the possibilities are endless when it comes to romance...
