New Reviews for Bella's Wolves by Stacey Espino

Wendy's Review

Stacey brought another great read. She has you sitting reading every word and anticipating the next.

Bella grew up knowing that she wasn't complete. She bragged about her camping experience and how she could survive on her own. Well bragging brought her to the situation she finds herself in.

Bella's friend Amanda told her to dress for the evening, what she didn't tell her was that she was going on a camping trip with her boyfriend, who Bella couldn't stand, and another couple. Just what Bella wanted—to be 5th wheel. Being stranded and going alone in the woods trying to find wood and berries, Bella comes across two men who she finds attractive and just what she wanted. Ben and Draco find the woman who is their mate even if she is just human; but which one will be claiming her first? Their animal instinct wants to protect and claim their mate.

What they don't realize is there is more to Bella than meets the eye.

Stacey has you on edge, not knowing exactly what is going to happen next. The adventure adds to Bella and her men, Ben and Draco's, lives and what they mean to each other.

This book is well written, and even though it is a sequel, you really can read it alone and enjoy it immensely!

5 Tea Cups!

Rating: 4 Cups

Bella has been on her own for years, because she could not stand how overprotective and controlling her parents were. She has had to work jobs that do not pay much more than minimum wage and lives with a roommate, but at least she is the captain of her own ship.

Ben and Draco are werewolves. Ben knows the city and how to survive there, even if he chooses to live in the woods with his pack. Draco knows little of the city, and does not care to learn about the city or anything connected to it or humans.

When Bella’s best friend, Amanda, tells her to dress “hot,” Bella thinks she means “sexy.” Unfortunately, what Amanda should have said was “dress warm.” When Amanda arrives in a large vehicle with her boyfriend, Keith, and their friend, Sara, and her boyfriend and announces they are all going on a camping trip for the weekend, Bella is less than enthused. As much as she loved the woods when she was a child, now she fears them, and being stuck as the fifth wheel to the two couples is not her idea of a good time. Things go from bad to worse when she realizes that none of the people with her have any skills for surviving in the wilderness. The fact becomes even more apparent when she realizes they have no food, and did not bring a lighter or matches to start a fire. Scared, cold, and hungry Bella goes into the wood looking for kindling, which she finds, but she is also, unbeknowest to her, found by the werewolf Ben, who knows by her scent that she is his mate. He approaches their campground and Bella and uses the opportunity to introduce himself. Unfortunately, his plans go awary when a fellow packmate, Draco, also recognizes her as his mate. Which werewolf will claim the lovely Bella? Only time and her secrets will tell.

I truly enjoyed Bella’s Wolves, and the punchline to the whole story is absolutely fantastic and made this story well worth reading! The sex is absolutely phenomenal and uber hot. I liked the dichotomy between Ben and Draco. Their personalities are completely different, but I really enjoyed how in the end, protecting Bella was what was truly important to them both, enough so that at least a few of their differences were set aside. Bella has an interesting personality as well. I really liked her independence and willingness to break away from her parents and their money to make it on her own. Overall, this was a great story that I am more than happy to recommend to others!

5 Star Review for Buckskins and Brocade from JERR

I just received the Just Erotic Romance Reviews newsletter (#150) and much to my delight Buckskins and Brocade has received 5 Stars!

Reviewer: Stefani Clayton
Rating: 5 Stars
Heat level: O

Growing up in a household with two fathers, a very strong willed mother, an uncle only a few years older than herself and two siblings, Olivia Raines is ready to step out on her own. When she receives a letter from her uncle suggesting she take an assignment for the government, Olivia jumps on the nearest train, only to discover that the man who caught her peeking through his window is the same man who will be working this government assignment. Not only is he a walking temptation but he comes with his brother, his identical twin brother, and Olivia knows she has her hands full. All this before she learns that children are disappearing and the last agent turned up dead. Olivia has a lot on her plate with this first mission, but she is more than woman enough to handle it all. The question is whether the world is ready for Olivia Raines?

Buckskins and Brocade is the sequel to Kentucky Woman and is just as entertaining. I had the pleasure of reading the first story, and couldn’t wait to get into this book. Olivia Raines is her mother’s daughter. She is feisty, independent, and so unique I couldn’t help loving her character. Connor and Desmond are home-on-the-range sexy with just a hint of shadows to keep you drooling. The men fight like cats and dogs, which is just what I would expect from twins who spend all their time together. I just liked them, Connor with his seriousness, and Desmond’s constant laugh. There were numerous secondary characters throughout this story and they all played valuable roles in keeping it real. Sexually, these three start out hot and each scene turned up the heat until the final scene, which left me panting! This story didn’t bombard me with sexual scenes just for the sake of sex, and I honestly appreciate that. Buckskins and Brocade is a great read all the way around.

Thank you, Stefani and JERR!

5 Cherries for Buckskins and Brocade

Hi, everyone! I wanted to share my first review for Buckskins and Brocade with you. The book received 5 Cherries from Whipped Cream Reviews.

Buckskins And Brocade by Amber Carlton
Publisher: Siren-Bookstrand, Inc.
Genre: Historical
Length: Full (266 pgs)
Other: M/F, M/F/M, Ménage, Voyeurism
Rating: 5 Cherries
Review by Lilac

In this fantastic sequel to Kentucky Woman, a young woman discovers a passionate relationship with the twin bodyguards assigned to protect her.Having been raised in an unconventional, but protective family with two fathers and one mother, Olivia Raines is determined to prove herself and becomes a spy for the First Lady.
Assigned to investigate the disappearance of some boys from the Orphan Train by going undercover as a schoolmarm, Livvie is not prepared for what's to come. She is definitely not prepared for the handsome twins assigned to protect her, Connor and Desmond McBride, but she cannot deny her attraction to the men and soon she doesn't have to.
This was such a wonderful and absorbing story that I didn't want to put down. I especially loved the characters of the story. Livvie really surprised me as despite her confidence and background, there is a naivety and innocence about her. At times she displays a vulnerability which really is quite touching. However, she is a little spitfire and is constantly surprising the brothers with her honesty and daring. I found myself just as taken with Livvie's infectious personality and couldn't help by smile at the things she says and does.
As for the brothers, they made great heroes and were perfect for Livvie. Haunted by a horrific past, Connor and Des have their own reasons for getting involved with the mission to save the boys from the Orphan Train. Life definitely hasn't been easy for the brothers, but with Livvie both of them begin to feel a bit of peace and happiness. However, they didn't grow up in a family like Livvie's and feelings of jealousy crop up as they fear that Livvie could never love them both, something I could understand and which really added to the realness of the story and the relationship.
However, Livvie is just what the brothers needed and I really enjoyed watching their relationship progress. As for the missing orphans plot, I thought it was quite interesting and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next with the investigation. Each new character and revelation added to the story and kept my interest. I really enjoyed how things played out, however, I did feel that the ending was a bit too quick for my tastes. I would have loved to learn and to have seen a bit more regarding the bad guys at the end. I also would have enjoyed another glimpse at Cutter, Billy, and Jessie (Livvie's parents and the characters from Kentucky Woman).
Despite this, I loved this story a great deal. With fabulous characters and a fascinating plot, this is one I was glad to have read.

Thanks for reading!

3 Five Star Reviews for Love and Seduction

Love and Seduction, a multiple five star reviewed story, is sexy, provocative and thought provoking. It's also, as the reviewers point out, like nothing you've read. If you've missed reading Love and Seduction, you're missing out

Love and Seduction in Las Vegas is a wonderfully sexy book about the good and bad in human nature and the double standard between men and women regarding sex. Now available from BookStrand.

Loretta is thirty-nine, Bobby is only twenty-two and beautiful. At first Sparks fly, then the relationship catches on fire.

5 ANGELS: "I am always amazed every time I read a book by Dee Dawning. Just when you think the next one can't get any better, he pens a read that out tops the last. Love and Seduction in Las Vegas is more than just frolicking between the sheets. It is a story of understanding, love, and learning to accept the other, no matter what their past. The stories are believable. The sex is hotter than any sizzling skillet sitting on a hot stove. This read really leaves an impression." -- Linda L., Fallen Angel Reviews

5 ENCHANTMENTS: "You know it's kind of funny with your books, Dee, they appear so light hearted on the outside, but inside they hit some really significant issues. This book was extremely complex, but you pulled off a lovely story through a myriad of complexity. I was impressed! In some ways this story was all sex, yet in other ways it was complete desolation. I totally enjoyed the happy ever after, which is one of those things that make me tick, but the twists and turns it took to get there were phenomenal. Very creative and very intriguing, I completely enjoyed it." -- Desiree de Cleves, Enchanting Reviews

5 STARS: "There is lot to be said about Love and Seduction in Las Vegas...I am blown away with the way author Dee Dawning managed to draw me in from the very beginning. This is definitely like nothing I have read before. It reflects the point of view of four people who's lives through fate are intertwined together. This shows how tough it can be for a woman no matter what year it is. And it also show the determination of woman to make a good life for herself despite the many obstacles in her way. I definitely love the way the whole book shifted between the years in between of the life of Loretta Bishop in the span of almost thirty years. And of course who doesn't love a happy ending." --Estefanie L., Night Time Romance Reviews

4 Star Review for Trinity Magic

Trinity Magic has received a 4 Star Review from ReviewYourBook.

4 Stars
Love that cannot be destroyed by time…The setting is Trinity Island, Virginia. Ryder and Arleigh were connected by the threads of time. They were destined to be together. He was willing to travel back through time to share her life. He just has to convince her that sex with him will not kill him. Amber Carlton cleverly weaves the story in and out of time. The connecting thread is the Caindale family. Trinity Magic is an interesting read. The characters are fascinating. Carlton make this entertaining with the use of faries and other mystical creatures. I enjoyed the way Carlton used history to add depth to this tale. Her description of life in the 1600s was like icing on the cake.

A Great Start to 2009

I just had to share, I found three great reviews for my books today.

First of all Molly from Molly's Musings at http://mjdaniels.blogspot.com/2009/01/yesterday.html. She had this to say about "Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed?"

I LOVED Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed by Jami Davenport! Go over to Siren Books and pick up your own copy:) I think I'll pop over to her website and see what else she has published! I loved the family interaction; I loved the climactic scene. She did a fantastic job of weaving all the elements together, AND made me curious enough about the islands to call my sister and see if she's ever been there.

Today, I received a 5-star review from Just Erotic Romance Reviews for The Dance. See my Review page for more details, but here is a highlight:

I will be adding The Dance to my list of books to be reread several times over. Ms. Davenport just became an author that I will most definitely be adding to my automatic To Be Read Book list. I was amazed at the detail she put into this story. I am giving The Dance five stars for the excitement and perfection that it turned out to be.

And last but not least, Joyfully Reviewed game me 5 stars on Amazon for The Dance.

Wooo whoooo!!!!!!

Reviews! Reviews! Reviews

Hi! I'm Audrey Godwin, a SirenBookStrand author. It's been a while since I've posted on the blog, but wanted to drop in and say hi, while at the same time let you read some reviews of my books. These reviews are slightly dated, but the books were very well received. Hope you like them.

Five Hearts from The Romance Studio!!

Dancing with the Devil
is a fascinating story of insanity and obsession. It was not what I was expecting. This is a complex story that has many surprises in store for the reader. Audrey Godwin has written an adventure that will blow you away. The story by itself is marvelous. Then to make things even more interesting you have the added erotic scenes. The sex is beautifully choreographed and it is like watching it happen as you read. The sex is both passionate and stimulating. The dialogue is well written and easy to follow. There is also a mystery to be solved in this story. What evil was Shania running from and will it find her before she remembers? There is a paranormal angle to this story but I wondered if it is not the insanity spreading. Sometimes evil doesn't die, it comes back for you and sometimes you may escape one prison just to find yourself in another; seem to be the running themes in this story. I feel readers that enjoy an erotic adventure with a hint of paranormal will highly enjoy reading, Dancing with the Devil.
Overall rating: Five Hearts
Sensuality rating: Explicit

Kwips and Kritiques gives Sweet Hell
five Clover Leafs!

I have to say, the publisher’s blurb for Sweet Hell didn’t do it credit. While titillating, it presented this story as very one-dimensional, focusing on Pari’s illness, nymphomania. There is definitely a lot more to this story than the synopsis lets on. Sweet Hell was ripe with suspense, action, and scheming. Incorporating some paranormal elements... and of course, a sensual romance.
Sweet Hell was a good read. I do look forward to other books by Audrey Godwin, whose writing style and imagination are rare.

Warning: Pure Erotica: may contain harsh language, extreme BDSM, group sex/partner switching, and moderate violence (This is a warning that was given by Road to Romance)

SIN CITY is a darkly erotic tale that deals with politics, sexual deception, suspense, and of course, love. Griff, by no coincidence resembles someone that held the political limelight in the United States for quite a few years. He has an addiction to illicit sex, women, and the darker side of life. Lorelei, on the other hand, is the portrait of the perfect wife. She stands behind Griff no matter what he does, even if his actions result in heartbreak for her. SIN CITY is a gripping read that is dark, intense, and erotic. Readers will hate Griff, while falling in love with him. His attempts at bettering himself, while falling prey to his own inner demons, touched a soft spot with me. I found myself torn between wanting to rescue him, and slapping him for being such an idiot. In spite of his idiocy, Griff is a completely likeable character that also has redeemable qualities.
Ms. Godwin does a remarkable job of writing a novel that centers on politics, and political scandals, and still incorporates romance and love.
