Blurb:

An overdose of steam tosses a disgruntled ghost back into the present. A successful brothel owner in her former life, Heidi Labeidi materializes in front of Edward Brady, an eccentric mad scientist.

Edward and Heidi become acquainted. He takes her out in public and discovers a shocking truth. No one else can see her. After a public catastrophe, Edward’s partner, Barron Capwell, shows up on his doorstep making demands. Relieved to discover his partner can see his houseguest, Edward considers what to do with the outspoken dead madam.

Heidi has a few ideas. A ghost is pretty assertive after thirty sexless years have come and gone.

Eager to please Edward and Barron, Heidi offers her assistance, but it comes at a price. Once the men realize she’s the only thing standing between their future and potential demise, Barron and Edward succumb to Heidi’s advances and she fulfills their every desire.

Excerpt:

Las Vegas, 2010

Heidi Labeidi, the controversial proprietor of The Love Parlor, a popular gentleman’s club on the outskirts of Las Vegas, was reported missing yesterday morning at five o’clock.

Miss Labeidi’s bar manager, Stan Graves, returned from a two-week European holiday and discovered disgruntled staff members and inner company chaos. According to Graves, Miss Labeidi had been acting “somewhat peculiar” in recent months, spending less time at The Love Parlor and relying on her staff to make deposits and handle customer relations.

Graves became concerned after he discovered Miss Labeidi had not visited the gentleman’s club in over a week. Mr. Graves stopped by Miss Labeidi’s luxurious loft in Las Vegas, let himself in, collected over a week’s worth of mail, and discovered her cat near death.

According to Graves, Miss Labeidi has few enemies but has been noted for her outrageous spending habits. She’s a suspected drug user and frequents the casinos whenever she isn’t working. Graves said recent mysterious behavior concerned several of the women working for The Love Parlor. Employees contributed Miss Labeidi’s mood swings to menopause, stating Miss Labeidi’s change-of-life experiences were often intolerable.

Based on findings at Miss Labeidi’s home, police are treating this as a missing persons case and remain optimistic. Individuals with information about Miss Labeidi’s last known whereabouts are asked to contact the authorities as soon as possible.

* * * *

Heidi glared at the open newspaper spread across her antique dining room table. Oh what she’d give to choke Stan Graves with her bare hands!

Stan not only arranged her disappearance, but he’d taken over her club, her home, and even had the audacity to place Rocks, her beloved Persian cat, at the foot of her bed while he romanced one hopeful starlet after another. The poor thing must’ve been terribly traumatized!

To add insult to personal injury, “those girls” who’d reportedly mentioned her mood swings—which she’d never experienced—were now laid up in her king-size bed fucking the man she’d once loved.

Heidi plotted her revenge. Retribution tasted bitter until a woman dished up a hearty serving for the man most deserving of a provoked female’s retaliation. Heidi would carefully plan a counterblow, and when Stan least expected avengement, she’d propel some fundamental disgrace his way and watch the light dim in Stan’s smug face!

No one—not even Stan Graves—held the power to destroy what she’d worked years to build. If Stan needed a change of pace, he shouldn’t have gone to all this trouble. Heidi would’ve gladly knocked him back down to nothing where he belonged.

She narrowed her gaze on the article again. The boldness of those Las Vegas Tribune reporters! How could they do this and get by with it? To think the last thing anyone in Las Vegas would remember about her was that she was going through the change of life. Bah!

She’d let them see a new woman. Yes indeed, she’d show them what happened to those who messed with Heidi Labeidi. She’d prove her point all right, just as soon as she figured out how to let folks know she was still among the living.

That presented a slight problem. Technically, she was now considered a ghost, and death wasn’t exactly easy to overcome.

Bridled Series by Natalie Acres

Ménage and More: Erotic Contemporary Cowboy Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M

Lynlee Lewis is an old-fashioned girl who might as well take the lead in a modern day romance. She met a boy, when he was just a boy. She fell in love, but he barely noticed. Now, Lynlee wants to place a woman’s brand on Blaine McCain, but will his past prevent her from staking a claim?

Excerpt:

Lynlee’s gaze darted around the crowded equestrian center as the riding groom led her to the show ring. Prancer danced underneath her, but Lynlee used her leg muscles to grip tighter, determined to drive the feisty mare forward.

Even with a large purse and a grand championship at stake, only one thought crossed her mind.

Where is he?

The announcer welcomed the new competitors. The Five-Gaited Open Division was full of trainers, not amateurs, but Lynlee had the horse for show and the skills to guide Prancer straight into the winner’s circle and claim the coveted victory.

Entering the class with a good first pass, Prancer moved to the outside and struck a gait with an aim to please. The sensational feeling of gaining one of the judge’s attentive gazes washed over Lynlee upon entry. She resisted the urge to look over her shoulder and see if the judge made a mark on his score card.

Around and around, she met up to the challenge of being in a class some might consider out of her league. She didn’t share those sentiments, and besides, Lynlee only had one reason for being there, and she hadn’t spotted him yet.

Blaine McCain never missed the Annual Carolina Showplace Horse Show in Asheville, North Carolina. And when he arrived, Blaine put forth a lot of effort in order to command center stage. His entourage, a pack of pretty boys, gained every woman’s undivided attention. If he walked into the facility, Lynlee would see him.

“Rack ’em on!” The announcer called out. Prancer’s hooves plodded against the ground, and by the time Lynlee returned her focus to the horse under hand, the crowd hummed with plenty of praise.

Glancing out of her peripheral vision, she made a beautiful pass in front of the judges, and in Lynlee-style, she flipped her wrist and gave Prancer the signal her mounts recognized. The gesture was a simple movement to warn of a nearby crop she never used, but the horses she trained responded to the caution and let their legs work for the money.

A few minutes later, the crowd took to their feet and palms came together as they cheered for Lynlee and Prancer, the champions of the hour. With her number called then her name, she relied on her loyal companion to march toward the gate. She waited for the roses, smiled for the cameras, accepted her blue ribbon, and enjoyed a coveted victorious finish, all the sweeter when she spotted Blaine.

With a standing ovation and many admirers, Lynlee savored everything about her ten seconds of glory. The relished championship made the moment priceless, but Blaine gave her something more. He nodded his head in her direction and nudged one of his buddies in the process.

Life was never sweeter until she went one way, and Prancer went the other.

Bridled and Saddled, Book Two:

Siren LoveXtreme Special Edition: Erotic Cowboy Ménage Romance, M/F/M/M/M/M

Lynlee Lewis McCain is a woman in love, only she's a little confused about who she's permitted to love. She married a man she adored, embraced a lifestyle he introduced, and ultimately understood what it meant to become a wanted woman—in more ways than one.

Excerpt:

Clearing his throat, Lantry said, “Walk me through what happened.”

Lynlee faced him. Sitting Indian-style, she picked at firm grass blades and began with, “Blaine and I had a rough day.”

“I heard. You don’t have to tell me about that.”

“I don’t mind. The McCains don’t have secrets. If they do, this one will surely come out anyway, if it hasn’t already been discussed over at the shooting range.”

Lantry snickered. “Wouldn’t you like to be one of those bullets in a plastic case over there?”

“I’d probably be a target,” she teased.

When the laughter subsided, he cupped her face and said, “Never.”

Another uncomfortable silence passed, and he released her. “Tell me what happened before I get in trouble here.”

Lynlee nervously tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. “Blaine’s phone was dead, so he asked to borrow mine. He said he needed to talk to someone at the Wheeler feedlots. While he was on the phone, Rhett was texting…a lot. When Blaine disconnected the call, he read the text from Rhett. It was pretty personal.”

“Really?” Lantry asked, definitely probing.

“Rhett asked for text sex.”

Lantry snorted at that.

“Yeah, I know. Well, you’d have to understand the relationship Rhett and I have.”

“Relationship?” Lantry asked, feeling a twinge of jealousy and pissed at himself for feeling envy in the first place.

“Don’t pretend you don’t know about us. We have a history. I’m sure you’ve heard all about it.”

“A short one,” Lantry reminded her. “It’s about to get shorter, too.”

“Is that so?”

“Oh, come on now, Lynlee, I mean, look at the past you have with the McCains. We were family before you married Blaine. There’s nothing I don’t know about you.”

“You keep telling yourself that, Lantry McCain,” she whispered, patting his hand until he jerked away. He was afraid of her touch, of how her fingers raking across his made him feel as if a sudden surge of electricity zipped straight through his balls.

“Anyway,” she continued, “after the first text was behind him, Blaine read the others. For some reason I’d saved them.”

“Why?”

She shrugged. “You have to understand how things were between all of us. Before the wedding, your parents were traveling. Blaine was in Texas every week, and he knew what was going on with Carlisle and Rhett. He gave his consent, his blessing, really.”

“So Blaine knew from the beginning you were sleeping with Carlisle and Rhett when he wasn’t in town?”

“Of course, he knew. I love him.”

Lantry took a deep breath. “Do you love Rhett and Carlisle, too?”

“I thought you wanted to know what happened the night I met Marks.”

“I do, and you’re right. Don’t answer that. How you feel about Carlisle and Rhett is none of my business.”

“Are you sure about that?” she asked, the question a real humdinger.

“Don’t go there with me, Lynlee,” he warned. “You can’t handle what you’ve got, much less what you’re inviting.”

“You don’t know that,” Lynlee replied, gnawing her bottom lip. “Besides, I feel safe with you.”

“You should,” Lantry said, tipping the end of her nose with his forefinger. “I’ve been looking out for you since you were a kid.”

“Yes, but I’m not a child anymore, Lantry.”

He pushed away from the ground and stood. Pushing his fingers through his hair, he said, “Maybe we should go back to the house and talk about this.”

“I’m not ready to leave. It’s a beautiful day, and I’m content right here.”

He grunted and sat back down.

“I won’t bite, Lantry.”

“You’re hitting on me, Lynlee.”

“A little harmless flirting never hurt anyone, did it?”

“I don’t know. Is that how it started with Carlisle?”

Lynlee tilted her head and shot him a million dollar smile. “That’s exactly how everything began with Carlisle.”

Siren LoveXtreme Special Edition: Erotic Cowboy Ménage Romance, M/F/M/M/M/M/M/M/M, bondage, sex toys

Lynlee Lewis McCain is a targeted woman. Unable to understand why she’s another madman’s bull’s-eye, Lynlee relies on the McCain brothers to save her. But after one lunatic is put to rest, there’s another one awaiting his turn—and he shows his face when he’s least expected.

Excerpt:

Lynlee McCain sat with her knees tightly drawn against her chest. She tilted her head upward and inhaled the warm North Carolina mountain breeze rich with a variety of refreshing fragrances including a blend of lilac, honeysuckle, freshly cut grass, and a hint of hyacinth.

The morning was the start of a glorious May Day. Lynlee plucked a buttercup from the soft soil, counting her blessings—and she had several to consider. The year in review brought a smile to her face, but just as quickly as she thought of the men in her life, she also recalled the threat that almost destroyed them all. Twirling the flower stem between forefinger and thumb, her mind’s eye refused to leave the past where bad memories should’ve remained. Dead and buried.

A few yards beyond a wooded nest of tall oaks and mature maples, birds scattered, rising high above the massive green bouquet of natural beauty. The flock didn’t depart with a soft song or silent glide toward the sky. Instead, they flew away as if someone disrupted them, like an intruder invaded their country, their fields. Flapping wings and high-pitched squealing resounded, reminding Lynlee of a bad scene from a horror movie.

“Is someone there?” Lynlee called out, pressing her palms to the ground. Lynlee’s pulse raced. Her heart pounded harder and harder. Someone was watching. Danger lurked. She sensed trouble. And rarely, if ever, was her sixth sense wrong.

“Hello?” she yelled, her eyes searching the meadows, the pasture beyond the rushing brook and spring-fed fishing pond.

Leaves whispered the only reply, ruffling with a rising wind. Lynlee hurried to her feet, alert and anxious.

She scoured the lay of the property before her. This was McCain territory, her land and home.

Two large forms emerged from the full forest. At first glance, she released a sigh, relieved to see men she initially thought were two of her own. Dressed in denim jeans and fitted T-shirts, their approach was slow and easy. One cowboy, the tallest fellow, took the lead. Coming forward, he kept a predator’s gait, cautious and deliberate with his head down, the brim of his hat settled low on his brow. That’s when she spotted a noticeable limp.

None of her guys walked with a break in their stride.

Lynlee recognized the danger, the old promise of a dated threat humming in her ears, beating softly like death’s march. Lynlee didn’t waste another moment by second-guessing her fear. She’d learned valuable lessons from the past and if she wanted to survive, there was only one thing left to do—run.

My Moment Alone with JR Ewing on Southfork Ranch

I’ve been a fan of the television show DALLAS since the beginning. I was only nine or ten years old when I began watching the show, and in my house, Dallas ranked up there with college and pro football.

A livestock dealer, my dad wasn’t one for television so to find a show he actually liked was rare. Looking back, I wonder if the whole family didn’t start following Dallas simply because our dad actually took the time to watch something other than sports.

Needless to say, the recent season premiere of Dallas on TNT was exciting. The phones started buzzing with text messages loaded down with predictions. With the number of phone calls back and forth, it felt like it was college game day and the season opener for the Dallas Cowboys rather than the premiere of the family’s favorite television show. To add to the excitement, my brother and I had recently visited Southfork Ranch.

A few months ago, thanks to some unavoidable business travel, several of my family members ended up traveling back and forth to the Dallas area. I live in East Tennessee so needless to say, the unexpected trips weren’t exactly welcomed. We love Texas and throughout our lives, we've spent a great deal of time in the great state of Texas. Still, the timing was bad, particularly since last-minute travel occurred during my daughter’s senior year.

Since we were in Texas on business and often flying in and out of Dallas at the last minute, we were exhausted most of the time. Typically, by the end of the week, we were walking zombies by the time we headed back to the airport. We really didn’t have time to play around, much less head out to Southfork and spend the day sightseeing.

On one particular midweek afternoon, we drove from North Texas to Dallas, and realized about halfway to the airport, we probably wouldn’t make our flights. After rescheduling our departures, my brother asked what I wanted to do. “Well, I’ve always wanted to see Southfork, but if we go we may miss our next flight,” I said, thinking he wouldn’t bother sightseeing because we’d already missed one flight. If we drove out to Parker and spent a few hours touring, we would most likely miss another flight which could keep us in Dallas overnight, something neither one of us wanted since we’d already been in Texas longer than we’d first intended.

Surprisingly, my brother wanted to visit the Texas ranch as much as I did. Remember, our entire family once thought Dallas was the ONLY television show worth watching.

After we determined that we’d missed enough flights in our lives not to worry about another one, we headed to Parker, Texas. Once we arrived there, I was taken aback. While I’ve seen prettier ranches in various areas of the country, there’s something about Southfork that I can’t explain.

Pictures paint thousands of words so I’d like to share some of mine with you. In addition to the ranch photos, I’m sharing one I made of myself with JR Ewing’s portrait, but please remember we were running on less than two hours of sleep. I’m definitely not posing here for Covergirl. ;)Still, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share these pictures with you.

The tour guide at Southfork was very energetic and informative. She obviously had a true love for the hit television show. She didn’t exaggerate when she said the new season was a fine tribute to the old Dallas.

After following the new Dallas season, I couldn’t agree more. Larry Hagman is still on his game. Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy took their respective roles by the horns, too, playing their parts without any detected difficulty.

Dallas also has a new generation of Ewings but I won’t give spoilers here. TNT and entertainment websites provide more information about the show. The younger Ewings are destined to make their mark in television history with their contributions to the Dallas show.

If you live in the Parker, Texas area or if you’re traveling through Dallas, Texas, take the time and drive out to Southfork. Like I stated earlier, I’ve visited prettier ranches. I’ve seen a lot of them in my day. Still, there’s just something spectacular about Southfork.

Whether you’re a new or old Dallas show fan, you need to visit Southfork Ranch. It’s a trip you’ll never forget.

I hope you enjoyed my pictures from Parker, Texas and the Southfork Ranch!

Until next time,
Destiny
