[Ménage Amour: Erotic Cowboy Ménage a Quatre Romance, F/M/M/M, bondage, sex toys, Interracial]
Delilah Gonzales loves cowboys. She has from very early in her life. But, those in her hometown didn't show much interest, or respect, so she has sworn them off. Plus, she always seems to fall head over heels for them and they always seem to leave. That's before she gets hired as the Bartlett Ranch's cook and housekeeper. When she is faced with not one, but four, gorgeous brothers, she finds herself reevaluating her cowboy ban.
The Bartlett Brothers have been looking for a woman for all them. They each have different needs, wants, and Delilah seems to be the one to fill them all. It doesn't take long before they have her in their bed. But, when she is faced with choosing them over her family, will she stand up to her overbearing brothers, or leave the brothers with broken hearts?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can I help you?”
The deep, rich male voice sent a wave of heat down her spine. She couldn’t clearly see the person who had spoken. He was just a dark figure on the porch. Her city-girl instincts kicked in, and she slipped her hand back to the car door handle—just in case.
“My name is Delilah Gonzales. I’m the new cook for the Bartlett Ranch.”
A beat of silence, then a sigh. “It figures.”
Hard boots slammed against the steps as he came into view. In the orange glow of the lamp above, she could make out the features of the man. Oh, Lordy. Short golden brown hair, a hard jaw, and the most amazing mouth she had ever seen on a man. Full and sensuous…it was hard not to stare. But she forced her gaze to travel down his body, and it was a long trip. A white T-shirt was tucked neatly into worn jeans that hugged his lean hips. By the time she met his deep blue-green eyes, little bursts of heat flowed through her blood.
“Are you Shane Bartlett?”
He shook his head, and she felt a twinge of disappointment. Even when she had interviewed over the phone, she had felt some kind of connection to her new employer. With her reaction to this man, she hoped they were one and the same.
“I’m his brother, Mason.”
“Brother?” Then she remembered her conversation with Shane. “Oh, he mentioned it was a family-run ranch.”
“If you stick around, you’ll find out that Shane is usually light on details when it suits him.”
A sinking feeling enveloped her. “There is a job, isn’t there? I have a contract.”
There had to be a job. She had given up a very lucrative position in San Antonio to move closer to her family. And she had needed a change of scenery. This seemed like the perfect option.
“Yes, there is. But I have a feeling ranch life is something you aren’t looking for.”
She straightened her spine. “I can assure you, Mr. Bartlett, I can handle life out in the wilds of West Texas.”
His lips twitched, and some of his stiffness drained. “I bet you can. But putting up with my brother is a full-time job.”
She opened her mouth to ask what he meant when another deep, resonate voice interrupted her. “Are you already spreading lies about me, big brother?”
She turned her head in the direction of the voice and just about swallowed her tongue for the second time that day. Of the same build, broad in the shoulders, lean in the waist, and with the same blue-green eyes, Shane’s resemblance to his brother stopped there. Long, straight, light blond hair cascaded over his shoulders and ended somewhere in the vicinity of what she was sure was a very fine ass.
“No. I was telling her what a pain in the ass you are.”
Shane tossed his brother an amused look, then smiled at her. Holy moley! The flash of white in the darkness, and a chin dimple to boot. Delilah curled her toes inside her shoes.
“I assume you are Delilah Gonzales.”
Her brain scrambled the moment she heard him speak her name. She cleared her throat. “Yes. From what I gather, you’re Shane Bartlett.”
He jogged down the steps and stepped neatly in front of his brother. With long-practiced ease, he took her hand, then pressed the palm of his other on top of it. The rough calluses on his palms told her this was not a vanity ranch: these men ran their own ranch.
“I am. I was getting a bit worried about you since I expected you earlier today.”
“I took a wrong turn a ways back.”
She would have explained that her GPS system had taken her the wrong way, but her legendary concentration dissolved at his touch, at the way his fingers slipped over her sensitive flesh.
“I thought you were from around here.”
She didn’t respond right away. He cocked his head to the side and watched her. It was then she realized that she would never be able to think straight with him touching her.
She pulled her hand away, and she could tell by the twinkle in his eye he knew exactly why she had done it.
Wednesday's Words for October 27, 2010
I’m pleased to announce that after a couple of months of “careful consideration” of the situation, Mr. Ashbury has finally finished the “porch stairs” project.
You may recall that it was on a hot, sunny day in July that our first born dedicated a Saturday to come and help his father “remove” our cement front porch steps that were resting on the sidewalk. This had been requested by the town, since the sidewalk was in need of repair.
We have no idea whose bright idea it had been to plant the bottom two steps on the sidewalk in the first place. They were there when we bought the house. Regardless, they had to be removed, and my son declared the job would be a “piece of cake”. Of course, he ended up eating his words.
And I was left, at the end of the day, with four crooked, broken, but mostly intact concrete steps at the front of my house that neither reached the sidewalk nor the porch.
Mr. Ashbury thought they would make good flower pot shelves, and so they did for a few weeks. Mrs. Ashbury, on the other hand, was not impressed with this innovation.
The crew finally came to repair the sidewalk and took pity on us, with those ugly, broken things attached to the front of the house. With some deft manoeuvring of their equipment, they removed the unmoveable concrete monstrosity, and carted it away.
Our new steps, located at the north end of the porch instead of the front, east side, are at a pitch of 45 to 50 degrees, and from the time they were built until just recently ended on the lawn. From there, it was necessary for me to walk down the sloping yard to the neighbors drive-way—there was a drop off from grass to sidewalk I couldn’t manage—and then, go down the additional slope of their driveway to the sidewalk.
Mr. Ashbury took a week off of work as vacation time when I went on my writers’ retreat weekend to Indiana in September. Before I left, he said, “I think I might work on putting in a new kitchen floor while you’re gone.” I told him that I would much rather he worked on a walkway from the bottom of our very-steep porch stairs to the sidewalk.
When I came home...it hadn’t been done. He was, he said, “carefully considering” just how to go about building this walkway.
The winds of October often bring snow. I pointed out to Mr. Ashbury that I would be unable to drive him to work if I couldn’t make it safely from the house to the car, which I wouldn’t be able to do if I had to walk across the lawn.
Well, finally, over our Thanksgiving Weekend, Mr. Ashbury came out of consideration mode and entered construction mode. He’d considered buying patio stones, digging the walkway out of the lawn, and then laying the stones. But Mr. Ashbury didn’t really want to buy the stones. This was the matter under “consideration” for so long. In the end, he decided to use the railway lumber we had at the back of the yard.
He used his portable work bench and for the three days of the holiday weekend measured, cut, and fitted these pieces of very heavy-duty weather-treated wood together. He framed it all with two by eight lumber. And yes, he remembered to make a hand rail. It actually looks pretty good. More important to me, it works.
I usually do take some time every day, but especially Thanksgiving, to note the things I am grateful for. This year, no longer having to navigate wet, slippery, sloping grass or asphalt was at the top of my list.
Love,
Morgan
Angelic Forecast ~ #112
“Where is the Heavenly One?” I whisper to Moon Dream.
“He has left you and your wolf companion to my tender care.”
A woman’s charming and melodious voice twines around me, so it feels. I stiffen.
A seductive sweet perfume heralds her arrival. I blink furiously, not certain I want to keep my eyes open. Yet, I dare not shut them, either.
She glides into view and I notice immediately her feet do not touch the ground. Oh no! I shrink back, yet I can’t move my feet. Panic has paralyzed me.
She halts, hovering. Somehow she is ethereal, yet bigger than life, as if she’s a character emerging from a movie. Black-garbed, yet there is nothing ugly about her. Beautiful, voluptuous, her hair flows like flames caught by gusts of wind.
I gulp.
ANGELIC FORECAST ~
The following week, the following month, the tides of world events will feel like several tsunamis. Yet, for most of us, a bubble of protection remains in place, especially if we remain in tune with our intuition, with our higher self.
As the veil thins, be aware of blessing that arrive from the other side. Many of you will have new paranormal experiences. Many of you will come into contact with what you have believed in, but never directly experienced.
There are many changes, huge changes that are coming about, that are on the immediate horizon. The world is pregnant with them, and the new age is giving birth to them now.
On the practical side of life, trust no one who you do not know to be trustworthy. For, there are many with corrupt natures who have determined to take advantage of the trust offered to them by everyday folks.
As has been spoken often, work in harmony with like-minded individuals to create a viable and happy community. And, this week, discover yourself, that is, the powers and abilities you never knew you had.
Wednesday's Words for October 20, 2010
Every once in a while we are given an example of the triumph of the human spirit, of the will to help others and do the good thing. It is a display of power that no government on its own can match, and in fact I believe that power rests within the hearts of each and every one of us.
Such was the case last Wednesday when, after 69 days, Chile finally, one-by-one, rescued their trapped miners.
There had never been any doubt on the part of the rescue workers, or the families of the trapped, once it was discovered that the miners were alive, that they would be rescued. Such a rescue had never been managed, but that had no bearing whatsoever on this emergency, on this crisis, or on the way the rescue workers and family members approached this Herculean task. Not a doubt existed in their minds or in their hearts. The certainty of success engulfed them even when they had no earthly idea how it could be done.
Think about that for a moment, if you will. The rescuers and the families of the trapped miners had no idea how it could be done, yet their faith that it would be done was unshakable.
Did you know, that’s a biblical principle put into action? For those so inclined, you can look up Hebrews 11: 1.
I believe their faith that the rescue would be accomplished was instrumental in making it so. That, right there, is the triumph of the human spirit: they believed the rescue into existence.
We sometimes forget the power of our words and our thoughts; we forget that the will of many, combined, can do great things. We spend so much time in our lives concerned with minutiae, we don’t remember what we can do if we simply find the will, if we simply open ourselves up to the possibilities of accomplishment.
And then, as we received when we tuned in last Wednesday, we are given a shining example of this power that we human beings have, this great ability to envision, and to strive, and to succeed based on nothing more than sheer, audacious faith.
If you tuned in to the rescue coverage on television, if only for a little while, you couldn’t help but get tears in your eyes as each miner came to the surface, to cheers of national pride and then was enveloped into the arms not only of loved ones, but members of the rescue team and even, touchingly, the nation’s President.
The rescue was a collaborative effort with many nations taking part. I find it interesting that the country the world came to help wasn’t a super power, or a source of great wealth for the world. It was Chile, a nation small in size but mighty in spirit.
A camp had grown up at the site of the mining disaster, a camp of tents where not only rescue workers lived, but the families of the trapped came to live and to pray and to hope. They called it Camp Hope, as if in this, too, their will to succeed would meet no impediments.
The NASA team that helped to design the rescue vehicle gave it the name Escape Vehicle; the Chilean navy engineers, who built it, called it the Rescue Capsule. No one is certain how it came to b e called something else, entirely. But the name given it and which you heard it called, really speaks to this unacknowledged concept, that the words and the thoughts of the people, combined, form a most powerful force.
The vehicle the miners came to the surface in was called the Phoenix. A very fitting name, in my humble opinion.
Love,
Morgan
BLOOD LUST - Available Today!
Stormy Glenn & Joyee Flynn
When a human psychic saves his life, Constantine Stylianos can't stop thinking about the little man, even when Owen leaves, ignoring the bond that they have together. Deciding he needs a change or he will never have the life he wants, Constantine opts to move to the Delta Pack.
STORY EXCERPT
Constantine was filled with grief as he watched the beautiful man walk away from him. How could he not remember being with Owen? Yes, Constantine had always been attracted to men, but he’d never given into that need, always dating women instead. But something about Owen drew Constantine in. He was saddened when Owen didn’t hear his thoughts and come back.
He really had hoped Owen was one of his mates. He knew he felt a pull to Owen, a strong one. He truly thought Owen was his mate until the man continued to walk away from him. Owen didn’t hear him. Constantine’s mate would have.
Constantine couldn’t remember anything about the night before except an angel saving him. Oh, the taste of that angel was heaven, completely addictive. He hoped that angel was Owen, but now after what had happened this morning, he assumed it was his brain’s way of making sense of last night. It was a shame. He would have loved to spend the rest of his life with that angel.
“All right, let’s get you to your car so you can come home,” his mother, Connie, said, wrapping an arm around him.
Constantine was trying to hide how pissed he was at his mother. He couldn’t stand how she acted about people being gay. Constantine knew early on that he was gay but had never acted on it because of his mother’s feelings.
He’d always hoped that fate would be kind and mate him to men so Constantine could say it was fate and not have to explain that he preferred men. But being his pack’s Delta, and son of the Alpha, his job was to find two women mates and produce a houseful of cubs.
Sure, Constantine thought of children, he liked the idea of having children. He just couldn’t get his mind around having them with a woman. He’d date from time to time, the occasional hook up, but he’d have to take the woman from behind. It was the only way he could pretend it was a man and get hard.
Constantine stared out the window of the car, not saying a word other than to direct his mother to where he’d left his car. He had talked to his parents about the Delta pack before going to investigate Alpha Rodrick. His parents were very forceful in their negative response. They didn’t want him away from his family. To top it off, they had heard that the Deltas who were already in the pack were gay. They were having none of that.
When Constantine saw the small six-man pack for himself, he was filled with joy over how they treated each other. They loved their mates and were diverse. They had no qualms with others, were rebuilding the town, and were living their lives. They all seemed really happy.
Constantine had wanted to stay right then and there, but he knew he had to finish finding out about Rodrick. That man had given him the creeps from the moment Constantine met him. Somehow, Constantine was able to mask his Delta scent. He’d always been able to. Not really knowing how, Constantine found it helped him with special assignments, like infiltrating Rodrick’s group of mercenaries. Rodrick was already sentenced to death, and his execution would be carried out soon, if not already. Constantine was glad of that at least.
He still needed to get in contact with Sebastian to tell him what he’d found out about Owen. Constantine didn’t think it wise to report his findings to the council. There was no telling what they would do if they knew of a real physic human, one who knew what they were at that.
The drive back to Indiana wasn’t so bad, even if it did take a few hours, but it did give him time to think about Owen. Constantine knew he’d regret how he’d hurt the beautiful, little man for the rest of his life.
Even worse, he’d never even thanked him. Owen saved his life and sacrificed a lot, only to get shit on by Constantine and his family. Constantine could blame it on shock all he wanted, but by the time he’d shaken off what had happened, he figured that maybe it would be best just to leave poor Owen alone.
What could he really say to make it better? Sorry I don’t remember us fucking? Ignore my mother. She’s a jerk. And, yes, I’m really gay? Owen hadn’t heard Constantine trying to talk to him through his minds. They couldn’t be mates, and he still couldn’t have been with Owen then, so leaving Owen alone was the best for both of them. Really.
Constantine wiped away the tears that fell down his cheeks. He could do nothing about it now. It was over. He needed to forget the whole situation and move on. Right now, he had to face the issue at hand. Having to face his parents to tell them he had decided to move to the Delta pack was going to be hell.
Instead of heading straight home, Constantine pulled up in his parents’ driveway to get it over with. He could see lights on inside the house and knew his parents were waiting for him to arrive home and call, so he was surprised when his father walked out of the house.
“Son, how are you feeling?” his father asked when he walked over to meet him. “Your mother told me there was some issues that occurred, things we would never discuss, but I worry you might need to talk?”
“I do, Dad,” he said, frowning at what his mother had told his father, just typical of her. “But not about what happened. I wanted to talk to you about the Delta pack.”
“Absolutely not,” his father said sternly. He waved his hand in the air as if dismissing the whole thing. That seemed to happen a lot in Constantine’s family. “We’ve already discussed it and decided against it.”
“No, you and Mom decided against it,” Constantine said, all hopes of this being civil gone. “I visited there on my last assignment, and I’ve come to a decision. I have decided that I will—”
“I forbid it,” his father growled, cutting Constantine off.
Constantine rolled his eyes when he saw his mother coming out of the house to join them. Just fucking perfect! Maybe they should call the local news station so everyone could see this family dispute.
“I am your father and Alpha. I forbid it.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Constantine said quietly, not willing to yell and scream about this. “I’m thirty-three years old, Father. I’m an adult, and more than that, the mandate from the council said it’s each Delta’s choice where we live. I don’t have to be released from my current packs if I decide to move. It’s completely up to me. I came to discuss this with you like an adult, but that’s not going to happen. So instead, I’m informing you of my decision.”
Constantine almost laughed at the shocked expressions on his parents’ faces when he walked back to his car and climbed in. He’d never talked to them like this before. He was their son, the middle of three, the obedient one, the one everyone ignored unless they needed help from him. And he always did whatever they needed because they were family.
But enough was enough. Constantine needed to start living his life the way he wanted, or he’d always be miserable. Well, more miserable than he already was, and that was pretty damn miserable. It was time he tried to live his own life and made his own decisions.
Angelic Forecast ~ #111
“Witches need love,” the Cherub teasingly offers a few moments later. “Would you like to visit a witch?”
“How can I refuse? Especially when a cherub makes that offer.”
Both, Moon Dream and I shift position to gaze upon the Heavenly One. He grins, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. Okay, I can tell myself there’s no danger. But, my belly is spooked out, tightening with a bit of panic. And those shivers are definitely racing up and down my spine. I mean, what kind of witch?
“Close your eyes,” the Cherub intones, amusement underlying his words.
I let my eyelids shut. My breaths leap out of me. The next thing I know breezes caress my skin... well, they feel like breezes. I feel Moon Dream’s wet nose on my palm, and she nuzzles me.
But, wait. Is it Moon Dream? My eyes shoot open and I glance down. Sure enough, Moon Dream gives me a toothy smile.
Hearing the sounds of a forest, I look up. Gradually, I turn around. I’m in a lovely, but darkening glade. The small glade is surrounded by a tight grouping of tall slender trees. The mood is all too mysterious.
“Where is the Heavenly One?” I whisper to Moon Dream.
ANGELIC FORECAST ~
The following week, and weeks, will highlight ‘wrongs and wrongdoings’ that have never been seen in the light of day before. Simultaneously, those who are truly good of heart will be highlighted. GOOD will be showcased. The challenge is to know which is which, and what is really what. Discernment is your friend. That ‘knowing’ in your gut is your best ally.
Also, this week will not only race by like an Olympic sprinter, but seek the highest mountaintop, then descend down into the lowest valley. To keep some balance go with the flow. Go with the ride. But, know, it is only a ride and look for the opportunities that will be available. The more unusual the opportunity, the more likely it is to be your right opportunity.
*Fraud* is the word for this week. The massive level of fraud perpetrated against Americans will be exposed more and more. And from surprising sources. The time has come to trust those who are ‘truly’ trustworthy. What has been deemed ‘too big to fail’ is not only failing, it is sinking like the Titanic and perpetrating every fraud on the way down.
Beware. Prepare. And care about others. That is this week’s sacred path.
CAPTIVATION gets 5 Cherries from Whipped Cream
I'm on Cloud 9. Whipped Cream Reviews said some wonderful things about my book, CAPTIVATION: Eternally Three. 5 Cherries "This is a screaming hot story of domination, submission and ultimately perfect love between three people. I found the balance between Nash and Kronos to be a perfect mix, and the best solution to Eve’s history. If you enjoy stories of BDSM and passion, this one’s for you." Holly, Whipped Cream Reviews Full Review (CLICK HERE) Hope you'll read the entire review and leave a comment. Anyway, here's an excerpt for the book. Wednesday's Words for October 13, 2010
We often don’t realize how much our lives are impacted by others. People we’ve never met face to face often touch our lives in ways we wouldn’t have ever expected.
And then, when these unmet yet influential people pass away we’re left with the realization that here was someone who, though we didn’t know them personally, somehow mattered to us.
Time moves in a paradoxical way, doesn’t it? The days seem to drag but the years zoom past. I was trying to remember when I first became a fan of Stephen J. Cannell. Adam-12 was probably the first one of his shows that I watched faithfully, and that at a time when I was still a teen living at home with my mother.
There were others, of course. The Rockford Files, The A-Team, which was a particular favourite of my sons, and Baa Baa Black Sheep, one of Mr. Ashbury’s all-time favourites. There was Hardcastle and McCormick, Hunter, and one show that had a pretty good scenario or two, the Greatest American Hero.
Mr. Cannell’s stories, be they on the screen or between the pages of a book, were stories about people. Even more than clever plots, his shows in particular featured clever dialogue, the kind that made you fall a little bit in love with his characters, the kind that kept you coming back week after week.
The man was at the heart of it all, a writer. Perhaps that is one of the reasons I felt his loss so keenly.
There have been many others over the years, people who have shaped or influenced our culture, and whose passing leaves a creative hole, if you will, in the cosmos.
As you get older, you look back, from time to time, to moments that stand out in your imagination and in your memories, to people who didn’t even know you existed but who, through their artistry, their creativity, or their simply being, helped to shape your life.
I am of the first generation whose formative years were influenced by television. I remember Saturday morning shows like Roy Rogers, Sheena Queen of the Jungle, and Sky King. My imagination soared with Flipper, Sea Hunt, and the first program that inspired me to write, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
What impact did these early dramas, the products ultimately of writers, have on me? I’m not sure I can tell you, really. Being the youngest child (by several years) in a family of three, living in a rural environment, I think you could safely say the characters on these programs were some of my earliest friends.
I don’t want you to think that my mother allowed me languish my days away in front of the television. Oh, no, in my mother’s house, if the weather wasn’t storming, during the day you were outside playing. At night, I watched what she watched. That was in the days before you had to worry about “objectionable” material. But Saturday mornings I was allowed the television, and in those few hours, my imagination learned to fly.
We’re getting older, all of us. I just heard the other day that Darryl Hall (of Hall & Oates) turned 64. 64! Maybe this helps explain why, when I look in the mirror, it’s to see some old lady looking back at me. I know that underneath the wrinkles and gray hair, I have to be in there somewhere! It feels like I’m in there, at any rate, even if it doesn’t look like it.
I enjoyed the imagination of Stephen J. Cannell. In the last couple of years, he had two “cameos” each season on the ABC show, “Castle”, playing... himself. When you watched those scenes you just knew he was having a good time filming them. His latest—and last book, The Prostitutes’ Ball, was released yesterday.
His creativity will be missed.
Love,
Morgan
[Ménage Amour: Erotic Paranormal Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, Public Exhibition]
While searching for her missing brother, Micki Langley visits a nightclub with a notorious reputation as ménage a trois central and comes face-to-face with two amazing men straight from her fantasies.
Ancient jinn Jared endures heavy guilt and wants nothing to do with the human girl. Tripling is necessary to keep immortals alive, but his hunger for Micki is far beyond normal.
Though warrior angel Bradley completes their threesome, he despises Jared for his tainted reputation. He vows the jinn won't hurt the gorgeous human and has no problem fighting him to prove it.
But when the threesome comes together, they share more than an exchange of energy, they share an unshakable bond that generates astounding power. Their enemies seek to destroy their perfect triad, which could unsettle the balance of power between angels and demons. Will the threesome be able to stand strong together - in trust and love - to defeat the relentless evil?
"Over lunch with an author friend, I shared an idea I'd been considering for a book. What if immortals' very existence depended on tripling with humans, similar to the laws of electricity (positive, negative, conduit)? She loved the idea. Many months later, that idea became a book with two amazing immortal heroes and one gorgeous heroine: Eternally Three: Perfection." ~ Kris ~
Angelic Forecast ~ #110
“Make love and, often, there is no need to make war.”
I savor the Cherub’s words and let them sink in deep. “Things are changing so fast,” I remark several minutes later.
“Yes. The lightning frequency as we call it, is increasing with new sunrise.”
“Lightning frequency? One of the angelic vibes?”
“The thinning of the veil is not just for Samhain or Halloween, anymore.” The Heavenly One gives me a broad grin, his purply eyes full of knowing.
“I can believe THAT! The paranormal has definitely arrived.” I lounge back on my elbow, then give Moon Dream a hug and cuddle. “We all need love, don’t we?”
“Witches need love,” the Cherub teasingly offers a few moments later. “Would you like to visit a witch?”
ANGELIC FORECAST ~
For the following week and for the following month, economic matters will enter another tailspin. On the world stage the rhetoric around the world’s economic problems will be all about fear and about the solution to fear. Believe none of it. It is merely for your consumption and does not deal with the underlying truth.
This week the sword of truth will strike like lightning several times. This will occur globally as well as on a personal level. The human community is entering a time when not only will the days jet by, but an entirely ‘new awareness’ arrives.
To bring about this ascendency of humanity’s soul, the truth must be faced and dealt with. This will be particularly noticeable in your relationships and in all of your interactions with others. Wherever ‘the truth’ shows up, greet it as a friend. Getting through the situation may be difficult, however love is on your side at this time. More than ever before, love will shine a path for you
Wednesday's Words for October 6, 2010
I know that it’s called survival of the fittest; I know that it is a part of nature. That doesn’t mean I want to bear witness to it.
Sometime in the wee hours of Friday morning, my cat brought forth unto my house a live and uninjured Chipmunk.
I suppose it’s not Boots’ fault. He is a cat, and although he did not hunt for the first 11 of his 14 years he is a feline and felines hunt. Specifically, felines hunt rodents. In the case of Boots, I suppose one could say he was shamed into this new behaviour by the Interloper kitty, Crash.
As you may recall, when Crash became a member of our family a couple of years ago and brought with him his human (my daughter) and his boy-slave (my grandson), the first thing he did to “endear” himself to us all was to catch a mole and lay that poor dead creature at my feet—an act that was then praised by his boy-slave, and rewarded by his human.
This systematic slaughter continued, with new freshly ‘dispatched’ sacrifices appearing in my office with alarming regularity.
Boots stood by watching this feral and uncivilized behaviour being rewarded and decided that he would show Crash he could participate, but being a feline of high moral fibre, chose not to. [Okay, I admit that was my interpretation of why he’d never hunted before.] Anyway, Boots made his point all those months ago by catching not a mole, or a mouse, or even a rat, but a chipmunk. He caught it and brought it in the house and then let it go…at which point Chippy ran into the bathroom and I was right there so I slammed the door behind him. We then were able to affect the poor little rodent’s rescue. I had no doubts at the time that immediately upon his release, this particular Chippy left the neighbourhood for more friendly environs.
In the history of domesticated pets, cats are unique. Humans domesticated the canine and every other animal they’ve taken as pets, except cats. Felines domesticated themselves. Being creatures who don’t like to exert themselves any more than absolutely necessary, and also being very smart, they made an observation several hundreds of years ago. They observed that humans were neither very bright, nor very clean, for they lived with their animals under their rooves and what the felines could only consider to be a really large cache of fresh cat food, aka mice and rats. Cats moved in and tolerated human coddling, in return for which they had a steady supply of food…and so it goes to this very day.
Now, the first I learned of the capture of this latest chipmunk was from my grandchildren. With fifteen minutes to go before they must leave for school, they watch television each morning. From their positions on the sofa they can see into my bedroom, and Friday morning they saw the chipmunk.
I opened my bedroom window wide, closed my bedroom door, and asked the Lord to show Chippy the way to freedom. Hey, it worked a few months ago when I had a bird in the house!
Unfortunately, this latest Chippy proved to be a recalcitrant little rodent, for instead of escaping out the easy to reach (for a Chippy) widow, the little guy made his way into the living room and under the sofa, where he soon drew the attention of two cats and one dog.
He wisely stayed under the sofa, a place where no cat or dog may venture. And I hoped, beyond hope, that he would be clever enough to wait until the predator-animals lost interest and went outside.
Well, I had to run a couple of errands, so I don’t know what happened next, exactly. When I returned home, it was to see no cats in the house. Out in the back yard, however, they cats stood vigilant facing the back corner where some rocks are stacked (artfully, Mr. Ashbury assures me) to resemble a waterfall. I know Chippy was in amongst those rocks, as I did see the tip of a tail that quickly was pulled out of sight. The crevasses are large enough for a Chippy, but too big for a cat. That was the last I saw of the little guy, and with no evidence to the contrary I rejoice in his escape from what would have been certain doom.
I’ve heard it said, and believe it to be true, that all dogs go to heaven. I’d like to believe that all Chippys and Bunnies go there, too.
I’m not altogether certain, however, where the cats end up.
Love,
Morgan
Angelic Forecast ~ #109
The profound moment embraces me and I hang on for as long as it lets me. “In and out,” I murmur, then think what ‘that’ could mean, if I were penning on one of my erotic romances... yeah, hot and heavy, doing the horizontal tango... oh, lordy, I’ve lost it!
“In and out of the mystical moment,” I clarify for my own sake.
“Yes, in and out on Earth.” The Cherub chuckles enigmatically.
I smile and get on board. “Sometimes, it takes ‘in and out’ to achieve THAT blissful mystical moment.”
“As were often remark in the angelic realm, we wish there was much more ‘in and out’ taking place for the sake of bliss.”
“Make love, not war.”
“Make love and, often, there is no need to make war.”
ANGELIC FORECAST ~
This coming week will blaze by, as in speed. And, this week will be emblazoned in the memory banks of many. Those who orchestrate the world stage want your attention.
Also, blazes of strife and revolt will continue to pop up all over the world. This anger is fueled by the corruption that has taken over. Look for this blaze of discontent to spread far and wide. Justice constantly denied builds bigger bonfires.
During this time when the veil parts, you may notice many more ‘intuitive hits’. Pay attention. This is the Divine’s way of letting you know what to avoid and what to prepare for. At the same time, there is a concentrated effort by the dark force to ignite your deepest fears.
Fear or intuition? Keep alert and stay in tune with your innermost self. Before you act, remember to breathe deeply and enter a few moments of silence, then go with your gut feeling.
Remember, the love you show now, builds the future for us all.
Reviews for CAPTIVATION
So far, CAPTIVATION has received two amazing reviews.
5 Flowers from Book Junkie - "Like a master chef, Kris Cook has blended the perfect ingredients for a succulent masterpiece by creating a majestic world where the supernatural is interwoven with the human world, a powerfully emotional love story and a suspenseful and deliciously dramatic battle between good and evil. Primal, sexually explosive and downright additive CAPTIVATION is a can't miss as it leaves you breathless and aching for more!" Brande ------->(CLICK HERE) for full review.
5 Delightful Divas & Recommended Read from Dark Divas Reviews - "While the sex in this story was sizzling hot, I was also- dare I say – captivated by the plot that Mr. Cook wove into the storyline. While I love graphic sex in my books, I also need a plot to go along with the sex. Captivation is just as strong on plot as it is on the sexy ménage scenes between Nash, Eve and Kronos." and "Mr. Cook will take you on an unbelievable ride."
Update from my writing desk:
1. Finishing touches on Lillian's Rogues: An Eternally Three Novella. This is a nice introduction into the world of E3.
2. Starting on Playing the Field - a sports-themed erotic romance. Here's the teaser that Sophie and Shayla helped me come up with - "One brilliant woman, five hot football players -- the game is about to change."
3. More revisions on Secret Cravings.
4. Waiting on edits to arrive.
