Make New Friends but Keep the Old

I’m so excited about what we have on deck and hope you’ll enjoy what you see too.  As with any journey in life, sometimes you find yourself right back where you started. In Cowboy Sex, we’re seeing some of our favorite characters coming full circle and Patience McKay's story is coming up next month.

Meanwhile, Contemporary Cowboys—the popular bestselling Cowboy Sex spinoff series—will soon draw to a close. Book 4 of the intended 5-book series is set to release this month and is available now for preorders at Siren-Bookstrand.

For those of you who absolutely love small town romances, be sure to check out the Trouble, Tennessee eBook saga.  Full of sweet romances and loveable secondary characters, the Trouble books are rolling out as quickly as possible and Trouble in Miami will be a pre-order option later this month.

Do you love football? Take "One for the Team" and add this Sports Romance to your eReader Today

One for the Team (MFM)
Cowboys at Play 1

 One for the Team (MFM)

Lauren Haverfield makes a forward pass and gains possession of a football team full of prospects. Kevin Deller and Darren Banks are the first eligible receivers of Lauren’s affections, but will they face their share of penalties if they score a touchdown and win their team owner’s heart?

The line of scrimmage won’t prevent this dynamic duo from rushing for the ultimate score after Lauren secures team ownership of the Knoxville Soldiers. With big plans and illicit long-term goals, Lauren offers perks and benefits as she renegotiates contracts for the men she wants playing on her field, and in her bed.

Excerpt:

Prologue

She was the kind of woman other women envied, the type of broad that didn’t just turn heads, but she gave them a good spinning. And from the moment Kevin Deller set eyes on her, he wanted her. He desired her even though he knew what having her would potentially cost him.
The price he’d pay didn’t matter.
The only thing Kevin concerned himself with was how Lauren Haverfield made him feel. Whenever she strolled into Cap’s office with her hand out, Kevin’s heart stopped. One glimpse was all it took, and with the 2011 season upon them, he needed to focus on football, not the pussycat purring from the sidelines.
He might as well have a word with the head coach. Maybe he’d tell Cap, the team owner, to keep his ex-fiancée off the damn field.
After spotting the sexy siren entering the stadium, Kevin couldn’t remember the next play they were due to run. A Lauren sighting made him stark crazy. The guys on the offensive line knew it and ribbed him about her on a daily basis.
God forbid if her gaze wandered toward the locker room where all the guys stripped and washed. Most of the fellows didn’t care if Lauren was around or not, but Kevin wasn’t one of them. Oh no, when her eyes were set in motion, it was the only time in a bazillion years that he was the slightest bit modest.
Yeah, he knew his reasons.
He made up his mind a long time ago. If Lauren gaped at the goods between his legs, she’d pay the price and get a ride for the show.
Cap didn’t seem to mind that his pretty young ex pranced in and out of the stadium at will. “Ah hell,” he’d say, “I’ve bought and paid for the broad. Don’t give a damn what she sees now, just as long as I don’t have to hear about it later.”
At one time, Lauren belonged to Cap because Cap made sure he put enough in her pocket to guarantee she stayed loyal to him, lavishing her with the finest of everything. Cap had the money to do it. He’d made a name for himself when he started a conglomerate of sports team franchises.
He also acquired quite the reputation among the ladies which was probably why Lauren broke off the engagement. Cap didn’t seem to notice. His social calendar stayed full, and the hostesses entertaining him were among the most desired women in the world.
Kevin avoided those circles even though he could’ve chosen from any number of beautiful arm ornaments readily available to professional athletes. If rumors were accurate, Kevin was paid more than anyone on his boss’s payroll, which appealed to the typical groupie, but only one gal held his attention and now Lauren was a free agent. Still, Cap wouldn’t want her in bed with one of his top earners. Kevin sort of believed that piece of gossip held some truth.
Besides, Kevin realized a long time ago relationships never lasted forever, so why mess up a good thing all for a romp across the mattress? Unless, of course, he could bargain with Lauren for a little discretion and some part-time lovin’, but then, Kevin had a feeling, forever would come with a price tag he’d never be able to afford.
He still wanted her all the same and maybe even more.
Temptation possessed an alluring name. Lauren Haverfield was the forbidden fruit dangling in front of him with a promise of pure carnal sinning. His fellow players weren’t short on opportunities to taunt him, and they should have teased him. He gave them plenty of ammunition. He acted like a young man in search of a first fuck rather than a grown adult who knew what to do with the hardened tool of maturity.
The ball snapped, and he fumbled. “Ah shit,” he grumbled, staring at his wide receiver who was smirking back at him. Hell, ninety percent of the players on that field wanted a trip to Lauren’s bed.
It was only a matter of time. Soon, Kevin Deller would take one for the team. Whether or not Cap would employ him after the fact was the question.
Kevin reached a decision right then. He didn’t care either way. There were other teams. There was only one Lauren.

No, you do not have to read the first book in the series to enjoy the second but I would highly recommend it just so that you get a better understanding of the players...All I can say is I loved this second book in the Sports Wives Series and recommend reading it instead of watching a game or soap on the television." -- Whipped Cream Reviews

It was scorching hot and I am surprised the book didn't spontaneously burst into flames. The ending of Sports Wives 3 was brilliant and it couldn't have ended in a better or funnier way. If you are a lover of ménage writing, then Sports Wives 3 is definitely the book for you. If watching a football game on Sunday is not your thing, leave your man to watch it while you read this book and the outcome will be a very exciting afternoon. You will be a lover of at least football players when you are finished reading it. Be sure to have a pitcher of cold water, you are going to need it. This was an arousing and brilliantly written book and now I am off to read books one and two!" -- Val, Whipped Cream Reviews

Destiny Blaine's Winning Virgin Devotion is Coming Soon to Siren Publishing

I’m thrilled to announce Winning Virgin Devotion is coming soon to Siren Publishing. For those of you who enjoy the Winning Virgin series, please watch my blog for updates at www.destinyblaine.blogspot.com. In the meantime, here’s a taste of what you can expect in Winning Virgin Devotion:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The following PG-13 clip is taken from an unedited version of Winning Virgin Devotion:

When they landed at Miami International, Irisa asked, “Where are we going?”

A good start, Richart mused, since she formed a complete sentence and expected some sort of interaction since she asked a question. She even took out her earphones when she made the inquiry, an indication she planned on listening for his reply.

“We’re headed to the Sabbat boat.”

“Oh, cool,” she said, flippantly. Then, she stuffed her plugs back in her ears.

Walking through the airport, Richart noticed what a ladies’ man his son truly was. He had that swagger down. Confidence was one thing. Cocky as all hell was another. Shit, he should’ve been Gabriel’s son.

When they reached the curb, Richart waved for a taxi. Irisa turned up her nose.

“Is there a problem?” Richart asked, opening the door.

“You can’t expect me to ride in one of these,” she snarled her nose, and this time, didn’t remove the earplugs. In fact, she turned the music up so loud he could even hear the lyrics.

Samuel slid across the bench seat and said, “So this is the way the mortals live!”

Irisa studied her fingernails. She didn’t budge from the sidewalk.

Richart tugged at the white cord attached to the earpieces. “Irisa, we’re only going about five miles. I need you to get in the car, please.”

“I’m not riding in that,” she said.

Richart knelt down and said, “Yes, you are.” He straightened his back and felt rather proud of the way he exerted his parental authority until she yanked his sleeve.

“Uh, no, I’m not.” Smugly, she stuffed the earplugs back in her small ears and hailed a limousine.

“She’s serious?” Richart asked, leaning down.

“Looks like it,” Little Samuel confirmed, retrieving his shades from the backpack and sliding them over his eyes. “How do I look? Normal? Human?” He flashed his pointed teeth and laughed.

The driver of the cab checked out his rearview mirror and grinned. “Nice teeth, kid. Where’d you get them?”

“Uh, Sammy, we’re going with your sister.”

“Sammy? Okay, that works. And no, I like this ride. Besides, Irisa always gets her way, damn it. Let’s move around town like the mortals.”

The driver turned around and said, “Aren’t you taking this vamp thing a little too far? That ain’t no way to talk to your pappy, kid.”

A hiss filled the car and Richart, recognizing his volatile son had too much testosterone to manage on his own, grabbed Little Samuel from the car. “We’re taking another car,” he informed the driver, shoving a crisp twenty dollar bill in his hand.

Richart quickly shuttled the children in another direction, thankful they could hitch a ride without too much commotion, no thanks to his daughter. Once inside the limousine, he said, “Let’s get one thing straight, kids. I’m in charge.”

Samuel’s teeth dropped and Richart glared straight ahead, opting to ignore the boy. After taking a minute to harness his temporary loss of control, he told the driver, “Take us to Haulover Beach.”

“You got it,” he sang.

Richart hit the button for the divider window and quickly made a decision. He concentrated on those damning fangs his son wanted to show off and decided to match him. When his sharp elongated teeth fell, he said, “Try that again and so help me, I’ll ground your ass.”

“Nice,” Irisa drawled with a lot of exaggeration. “Looks like we’re going to have a lot of fun with dear old Dad.”

Other news to share: Breakfast by the Sea, a romantic suspense MFMMM novel with western elements has been contracted by Siren Publishing. Watch www.destinyblaine.blogspot.com or www.destinyblaine.com for more details.

Yikes! Return of the Hair Spray Killer

Kalypso fought her way out of the terrifying dream. Demon chihuahuas dressed for St. Patrick’s day appeared in every doorway of the old west ghost town. And she’d already used her silver bullets, killing a slew of them. Now her pistol, that looked like a child’s toy from the sixties, was empty, and the leprechaun chihuahuas surrounded her, their eyes glowing with menace and becoming blood-red. She backed up.
The second the nightmare lifted, Kalypso bolted upright. Her heart raced painfully. She sweated like a hog on the hottest day of summer, and she couldn’t breathe fast enough.
Feeling his strong arms embrace her, she slowed her breathing enough to murmur, “It was him.”
“Him?” Carefully Zryphus brought her against the solid warm wall of his chest.
“The Hair Spray Killer,” she whispered. Frowning, she committed the dream to memory while focusing on the scene still before her mind’s eye.
“He’s dry frozen. God, you feel good, beautiful.” He buried his nose in her hair, just above her hear.
“I know he’s super dry iced,” she impatiently muttered. “I think his consciousness is trying to communicate.”
“Or it could be his Elite Controllers using some tech-method to make it appear that way.”
“Could be,” she agreed. “Stop it, you beast. You already had your way with me. I even let you play Devilray.”
“Whinny, whinny,” he rumbled near her ear. “Tell me everything you remember, Kalypso. We’ll figure out what’s happening. Did it feel like a precognitive dream?”
“The Wearing of Spring Green parade and picnic is in two days. It’s based on the old St. Patrick’s day celebrations before the Conflicts,” she began...

Angelic Forecast ~ XI

A burst of neon rose light appears, as if the panoramic sunset streams toward me. The cherub emerges, and grins at me.
"Stunning," I say.
"Almost like you wrote my first contact with my beloved Sedona." Even though the evening’s darkness is taking over, I see the glorious purple glisten of his eyes.
"You’re such a tease. You know I’m half in love with you. Don’t you?" I persist with the silly question, since his gaze fastens on my face, yet he offers no words.
"Hmmm, the joys and perils of being a romance author. How goes it?"
"You probably know I’m doing edits. So far, so good."
With a gentleness that surpasses any understanding, he reaches out, grazing my cheek with his fingertip. "We need all those who write love stories. Romance, it is the very sparkle of the ethers."
I quiver inside. From the sheer joy of being recognized for who I am, and for my purpose.
"The week ahead?" I venture into waters whipped by the perfect storm, if my own intuition is on target.
Silence. Then...
"Let us say, an extreme roller coaster ride. Ups and downs. Be prepared."

The following week brings a unique opportunity for all those who seize it, and embrace it with their hearts. The opportunity is to look back to the land of your dreams, when you were young, and between the ages of ten and twelve. Take a mental vacation back to that time in your life. What did you dream about doing? What did you dream about being in life? And, what did you enjoy doing the most?
For, there is one dream, which may feel like an escape into fantasy, only. Yet, that desire, that dream holds the seeds to your future, especially in the area of your relationships. If recognized, and thought about in the light of your entire life, thus far, this dream will bring more love into your life, and into the lives of everyone around you.

Just in time for Thanksgiving ~

This is a prequel scene to my 2012 fantasy adventure, WHEN A GOOD ANGEL FALLS ~ an erotic romance from ~ Siren-BookStrand ~

Be warned: This is not for the faint-hearted, and is unedited.

Thanksgiving Day, 2012

~ Prelude Scene to WHEN A GOOD ANGEL FALLS ~

Sedona clutched her knees, and willed herself to stop trembling inside. Beneath her, the ground trembled with wave after wave of aftershocks from the massive earthquake along part of the New Madris fault. It felt like the land had been transformed into a new type of mud-sliding ocean. Sighing, she suppressed her fear and shoved away the sadness threatening to overwhelm her.
At least, she had one thing to be thankful for. The weather hadn’t turned cold yet, whether by manipulation or not. The few blankets she wrapped around herself, at night, kept her warm enough. For now.
Thanksgiving...she’d heard it was Thanksgiving day on the crystal-run shortwave radio she carried with her. Given her situation, Sedona had laughed at the grisly joke, as loud as she dared. Who knew where the monitoring micro waves for sound, were aimed.
Resting her chin on top of her knees, she tightened her arms, and rocked herself, an automatic motion. At least, if she gained no comfort, it kept her blood circulation going. Glancing at her long-expired canister of raisins, she ignored her hunger pangs. She’d found someone’s stash of food, a few items still salvageable. That someone had probably died, already. She’d blessed them, and traveled on, driving her old van on the back roads. Fortunately, she’d found enough water for her converted engine to run on. Staying in one place was never a good idea these days.
Except now, she had no choice. When the earthquake tremors shook the ground viciously, splitting and shredding the road like so much ribbon, she’d crept around the pockets of devastation, searching for a place to hide and hunker down in, until the worst was over. If it was ever over.
Unexpectedly, the taste of past Thanksgiving day dinners filled her mouth. She savored the rare moment of bliss, asking no questions. Closing her eyes, she indulged in the flavors of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy. Green beans with bits of bacon. Pumpkin pie topped with generous amounts of real whipped cream. And french silk pie, a family favorite. With the memories flooding her mind, tears gathered in the corner of her eyes at the loss of her family. Still, they resided in a far better place than she did, now. Heaven.
The strong taste of buttered yeasty rolls distracted her, and halted her tears. Even though it was the same as a desert mirage, her mouth watered ridiculously. As she remembered the good times at Thanksgiving, Sedona sent her gratitude back in time. Why not pile on her gratefulness? Since everything existed simultaneously in time, maybe she would enjoy that part of her life even more. Then.
The delicious taste fading, she opened her eyes. A split second later, Sedona shivered as the small, out of the way house she’d discovered, creaked and rattled around her. The ground rocked from another aftershock, moving like a drunken sailor, as the old saying went. Or, for all she knew, another earthquake. Hell, if it collapsed on her, so what! The only thing she anguished over was how long she’d be in pain.
"Damn!" Sedona tossed off the worn ragged blanket. Her hot flash burned horribly. Seizing her body, it was a wildfire completely out of control, for long torturing minutes. She cursed again. "I might as well be in hell. Straight to hell. No trial. No get-of-jail-free card. Just the devil, his fiery pitchfork pointing the way. Well hell, it’s better than a FEMA-stalag camp."
You’re not going to hell yet...wait, a familiar voice whispered, then chuckled as if everything was just fine.
Thoroughly annoyed, Sedona scowled, not knowing if whoever had been speaking to her for the past few weeks, similar to a spirit from the Other Side, was divine friend or evil foe. She couldn’t tell, her psychic sense of it, remained clear as an acre of mud. Common now.
"Go away," she commanded.
For now, the voice answered.
Sedona shook herself, attempting to shake away ‘the voice’. She trembled violently. If she was lucky, an earthquake would rip the ground apart beneath her right now, and she’d be swallowed up whole. If she was lucky...okay, hell, that wouldn’t happen.
Eyeing the raisin canister again, she decided to wait, since her hunger hadn’t caused a headache yet. The longer she put off eating anything, the longer her little food stash would last. Unbidden, a loud sigh burst from between her severely chapped lips, and she wondered for the zillionth time why she was still alive.
Noticing the aftershock tremors seemed to have ceased, for awhile...maybe...who knew...Sedona shrugged a shoulder, and yawned. If she could fall asleep, that would be better than anything. However, a thin stream of color caught her eye, cutting through the dusty air and the dimness of the room.
Entranced by the rose-pink neon ray, shooting through the tiny dirty window, she pretended for a moment that life was okay, again–that everything was going to be all right. That, once again, she would see sunsets instead of hideous skies, overcast with ugly chemical clouds, and a haze of volcanic ash. That flaming asteroids would no longer pierce the soupy-looking mass.
Rising from the bare mattress, one that had been over-used, Sedona crept forward, her knees creaking from age, and staying in the same position too long. As she dared a peek through the grime-covered window, her heart pounded to beat any band.
Still, sunlight, a real ray from the setting sun, beyond priceless.
Glimpsing the rim of the sun, sheer giddiness danced through Sedona. Well over the murky barely-seen horizon, the rim gleamed weakly, a sliver of yellowish white light. She smiled.
Damn though, if any of the aerial drone cameras caught her, even her reflection, only God knew how fast a team of black-coated Bounty Hunters would arrive. Collecting people like her was good money in these times.
Telling herself to move away, Sedona stared at the lone brazen shaft of light, originating from the sun, then striking the window pane. Tears gathered in her throat at the remarkable site, choking her for an instant. Good Lord, the rose-hued shaft looked like an invitation from heaven. If only...
Forcing herself to take a step back, Sedona knew her only chance for escape would be the van, and out-running the fuel capacity of the Bounty Hunters. For some reason she didn’t understand, their transport vehicles hadn’t been converted to use water, and spent power quickly. True, good water wasn’t all that plentiful in a lot of areas. Whatever...she shrugged, thankful she possessed that advantage. At least.
Sedona took another step back, pivoting toward the interior of the dank room, before she was tempted to stay at the window. Feeling enchanted, she followed the ray with her eyes. A gasp escaped her. Magically, the tiny beam shimmered more brightly, and changed to an amazing rose-pink color.
"My God," she whispered.
Not daring to move, Sedona watched the sun ray slowly expand. Soon, the entire room glowed, bathed in a deep rose luminosity. Her heart tripped rapidly at the sheer beauty of the light, then soared on ephemeral wings.
The feeling of dread always with her, Sedona hoped like hell, this was a mystical event–one not seen by the ubiquitous monitoring grid of the New World Order.
This is your future, the unknown voice interrupted her thought, gentle as a caress.
"Yeah, yeah," she murmured, disbelieving.
Even as she spoke the words, an image formed. A shadow-like figure of a man gradually emerged. Yet, not a shadow. It was a jet black transparency of color. As the shape of the man’s wings became more clearly outlined, her jaw dropped.
"Omygod."
Utterly captivated, with hardly a breath left in her body, Sedona stared at the man’s gorgeous, languidly flapping wings.
Moments later, darkness claimed the room again, as if the black angel, hovering in the halo of rosefire light, had never existed.

To all the mothers out there, including my own Mom . . .

A Song For Mama

No matter what you do,
No matter what you say,
I love you more and more each and every day.

I want to kiss your furrowed brow,
And make you smile instead of frown.

I hear you laugh and it warms me immensely,
And when you cry my heart breaks deeply.

We might argue all through the night,
But in the light of day everything is all right.

We are family today and friends tomorrow,
This is why I try to take away your sorrow.

Because no matter what you do
Because no matter what you say,
I love you, Mom more and more each day.

Anika Hamilton's Intro

Hi, my name is Anika Hamilton. I was born and raised in Jamaica, later moving to sunny South Florida to complete my college education. I spend my daylight hours as a public administrator working in my local library. At night, I am usually writing, playing video games, reading, watching TV, or any feasible combination of these activities with writing as the focal point.

My writing career began with the creation of poetry which I did for many years. I later
graduated to erotic romance, succumbing to the voices of the heroes and heroines in my head. My stories cross several genres and themes, involving a mix of all kinds of loving and always with a happy ending.

I'm very happy to be a part of the Siren-BookStrand. Look for my first two releases from
BookStrand which are ‘Dessert Box’ to be released in July and ‘Reclaiming Nicola’ slated for August. Look for these titles and more from me in the coming months.

You can see my website
at http://www.anikahamilton.com or my blog at http://anikahamilton.blogspot.com or contact me directly at anikahamilton@bellsouth.net.
Enjoy the new blog and until next time . . . Happy Reading!
