Okay, now for the more serious stuff. This has been a mad whirlwind year for me, which began when I became one of the American Title IV finalists for my manuscript, Murder by Hair Spray in Gardenia, New Atlantis. This is the Romantic Times magazine contest sponsored by Dorchester Publishing. Needless to say, I didn’t win. But, actually, I did win big time. Because Siren contracted All Shades of Blue Paradise (my very first contract! Yippee!) after I had first submitted When a Good Angel Falls, which didn’t quite fit for Siren, but happily fits wonderfully for BookStrand.
My actual writing background you ask? Besides taking creative writing courses in college and being a voracious reader as a kid. Well heck, this is the embarrassing part. I began my writing career at age thirteen. There was quite a demand from the other girls for my Beatle love stories. Yep, you could be the heroine, and star with the Beatle of your choice, John, Paul, George or Ringo. The ending was always ‘he kissed me and we lived happily ever after’. Until my Math teacher got hold of one. I think he was shocked when I grabbed it out his hand and wouldn’t let him read it, given I had a well-deserved reputation for being a shy good girl.
Okay, quantum leap forward to now. If anyone wants the glory and gory details of my writing journey from aspiring author to published author, ask and it shall be answered. However, the here and now is what I truly care about, because I have the opportunity to fulfill what I’ve always been, a writer. In fact, a multi-genre writer of romance on the wild side. And now, due to a whole lot of strange woo-woo circumstances in my life, I finally have the time to devote to my writing and to growing my career.
